If he is good live,Poland should really send "Gladiator" to Liverpool.I know that Alicia hasn't released her song yet,and I didn't mind "Empires" in 2020 but if she has another bombastic power ballad this year, then please no.If she had something funky/hip hop/rnb and of good quality ofc, then maybe. Enough of bombastic ballads from Poland, time for something new and different.
@@АлексейЗаботкин-т1х oh yes,Ulrikke's song was unfortunately very generic and kind of dated as well. She's a great vocalist and rather charismatic performer but the song just wasn't it this year.
@@TheManInBlueFlames yes, this is similar situation as with Ulrikke.I guess lots of people want Alicia to win because she didn't get to perform in '20 and in '21 Rafal got chosen instead of her. People want her to represent Poland regardless of the song.
Blanka "Solo" she won Viewers cast 16k votes for Jann and 6k for Blanka. But the jurors decided that Blanka is more suitable. This is very unfair! (I'm typing using google translate)
I feel like im more gripped visually than auditorally. Ive only listened to it fully through twice so perhaps I need to give it a chance. There's cool concepts in the song auditorally but atm I feel like its a little "throw the kitchen sink" and a little clashy. I also cant quite situate what the songs going for. It has chorale elements, industrial elements, dark pop, uptempo club sound (like Rakky in Benidorm fest *not electronic but that pace*). I really like the music video and i do think live I could be won over but whilst I definitely don't hate it by any means, Ive seen people say its one of their favourites of the nf season so far and im not there with it yet. It is quality though, theres clearly been a lot of effort put into it.
yea youve got some good points there. id kind of group this in with Luke Black and Käärijä this year for the outthere songs, but this is the weakest of those 3 for me sonically but the winner for visuals. Ive downloaded it so ill see if it has as much relistenability as the other 2
The difference is I reckon Kaarija has a big shot this year because the fan reaction is all the same, whereas Black and Jann have the ability to not go to Eurovision if they perform badly. And I don't think these are the best in their group of songs but the live will have to show us what they can do. Kind of hope Serba send 'Presidente' or 'Novi Plan Drugi San'.
You know when you bring your boyfriend home and are scared what your parents will think of him? Yeah, that’s how I felt playing this video. I badly needed you to like Jann 🫢 as a person from Poland (living abroad) I’m scared he will have a problem going through our NF (TVP is incredibly conservative). Ochman last year made us proud for the vocals, but I felt like the staging was awful. He himself was an amazing singer but I think that’s it. He had the vocals. Jann seems very ambitious and I hope he has a clear vision of how he wants to bring this to the stage. We hope and we pray that he will make it! 🤞🏻
oh lol, i love that analogy. don't worry, i almost always love these type of unique experimental songs if they have a good melody. Shum was my number 4, In corpore Sano was my number 2. yea i think they need to be smart with their staging considering its poland. I hope he can find a compromise where he brings the art but doesnt rile people up. I havent heard the other songs yet (im still waiting for the last 4 to be released), but he'll have to decide how much risk he needs to put in based on the competition
Ochman's staging wasn't THAT bad. People need to get rid of that from their heads. TVP tried their best to make it look good with that black sun. When the song was released, I instantly thought 'River will win!'
@@TheManInBlueFlames I respect your opinion! 😊 but I don’t have to change mine. Everyone struggled with the kinetic sun, but some made it work better than others. Ochman is a phenomenal singer though!
Placebo vibes in a good way. I agree the last 30 seconds were not working well for a finale that the song had previously promised.. but yeap... It would be a great choice
I'm even later to the game, or actually, I'm watching some NF and Eurovision videos now, because they're all coming in a timespan of 3 to 4 months, so it's not that easy to see everything and sometimes, I'm getting videos into my feed that I haven't watched before. Well, maybe the whole situation was unfair for him, I don't know. But his staging wasn't that great (but I'm pretty sure, they would have upped the ante in Liverpool) and no one has ever heard him sing before, except for a MuZo live session, where he used autotune, other than that, there were no live performances on TH-cam shortly before the NF. There were 2 questions about Gladiator: one how's the staging gonna be like and two how's his singing, can he pull it off vocally? And to be honest, his staging was still better than his vocals. That's why it didn't go through. It still would have been an interesting choice, and maybe staging and vocals could have improved in Liverpool, but his performance was a letdown.
I think last year we had great song and great singer but Krystian needed more charisma and that's what Jann don't lack of, he's great charismatic performer on live too(you can find some of his performances and he's just Great in every aspect). I agree that it's hard to put out on stage, but some chains dangling from the ceiling plus nice visuals and keeping it dark and we have nice start for the big show in Liverpool. About it being less conservative as all of Poland, preselections are being watched mostly by fans and fans are going to vote for sure, even if the jury won't that much, we still have more power. Great reaction overall, thank you from Poland ❤️🇵🇱
ok , youre giving me hope. yea im hoping the show will be watched by less conservative viewers and he can still deliver something arty without being penalised for it
Ojej Ja jestem konserwatywna i co To przeciez świetny glos a o to chodzi piosenka tez jest dobra wg mnie Ochman byl lepszy ale nie ma wstydu wysoki poziom no i to GLADIATOR
It's quite painful for me to listen to. Idk why. I think that just shows the amount of emotion and detail put into it. I think it will probably flop for people live but for me it will only get better.
Im a worried because final decision belongs to our national conservative tv station controled entirely by our conservative government. Polish people will vote for Jann no matter what. We want this as much as u guys want. If it will get rejected then its because our stupid politics. :)

Yea although they had the chance to send alicija in 2021 and chose Rafal instead. My guess is that they’re going to see how the public reacts to his show and if it’s safe enough, they won’t impede him from winning
@@anita_agr yeah, I also have that feeling. Alicja is an amazing artist, she has a powerful voice, but I don't think it's the ballad time. She should have gone instead of Rafał Brzozowski. I also feel they will try to promote Maja Hyzy a lot and her song is so weak...
@@nediira6138 Alicja yes, she's very talented, both vocally and in terms of stage presence,I only wish she had a good song, preferably a well-produced uptempo track, enough of those ballads. But that Maja lady,no,there is no way she's gonna be in the ESC.Average voice, below average song and zero charisma. This is way below average standard in the modern Eurovision, even that Blanka song would be better,at least it is a "bop" and she seems to have some decent stage presence. But the strongest contenders at the moment are Jann,Alicja (even though the song is not out yet) and possibly Dudek as well.
Boy, if good lyrics are what you're after in the Polish NF, you should definitely check out "Booty". (That was sarcasm, disclaimer just in case.) Yes that's a real song TVP put into the NF. Yes it's literally about booty. No I don't know how or why they picked it.
@@ESCTom well, not to spoil the song, but shocking isn't really the right word for it. It's... it's like someone trying to take only the "Booty hypnotic" lyric of SloMo and stretching that into 3 minutes.
@@ESCTom and to be fair, even if it isn't shocking in the same way Gladiator is, you're right that just by being in the NF selection it can make Gladiator more palatable to the casual viewer.
Raro with 'Domino' or something else should have gotten through. There's a LOT of good songs that were rejected. It seems as if only the ones with music videos were sent through/
It's different from Cha Cha Cha,though,at least musically. It might also happen that neither of them will win their national final.Finland has some fantastic options to choose from this year besides Cha Cha and Poland might choose Alicia Szemplinska or someone else.
No, Cha Cha Cha won't be the problem; Luke Black from Serbia is. Both Gladiator and Samo mi se spava can "nulify" each other... Maybe. Or maybe they won't. But I think Käärijä is not direct competition of any of them; he's industrial, yeah, and you can perceive industrial vibes on Luke's song as well, but Luke & Jann have the darkness that Cha Cha Cha (which is a party song) doesn't have. So I would be more worried about Luke/Jann if both are chosen, not Käärijä.
I'm really not a big fan of this, I feel like the concept of the song could've had so much potential. Sorry Poland, but please don't choose this. (I do respect your opinion though 🙂 )
Don't get too excited because it probably won't be chosen anyway. Alicja Szemplińska has a song probably about Ukrainians, so no matter how good this song will be, thousands of Ukrainians in Poland will vote for it. The juries will vote for it too because people may call them Russian agents (yes, in Poland everybody not loving everything about Ukraine is being called a Russian agent/troll). So it will be a missed opportunity because Alicja decided to make a dirty move with this slightly political song. I'm mentally prepared for this worst case scenario.
For me this feels more try hard than high art tbh... Visually it seems very pretentious, musically there are some interesting moments but also loads of noise.
@@ESCTom me as a Polish person think that Jann even added some stuff in the live performance that wasn't in the song that's even better than in the original version. The laugh or breath between the words has given it the sinister feel and then the beautiful ending... Jann has no originality at all, just eurovisiony stuff for eurofans, in real music world it would never work and it lacks quality at all.
I think a lot of people want her to come back with a similar song like Ulrikke because she didn't get a chance.
Her song is written by girl who does electronic music
Nobody wants anyone with song like ulrikke had, even ulrikke didnt deserve such bland song
Somehow this causes a throwback to "Sweet dreams" to me, does anyone else identify this? It has certainly caught my attention!

Blanka "Solo" she won
Viewers cast 16k votes for Jann and 6k for Blanka.
@@TheManInBlueFlames It was really bad.
Oo, competotion for Luke Black!👀
There's a duet in the making!
Placebo vibes in a good way. I agree the last 30 seconds were not working well for a finale that the song had previously promised.. but yeap... It would be a great choice
you can listen to his voice live on Radio chillzet live session
i saw a little clip of him performing too which was going around
Late in the game, but I checked this when Bejba qualified and I felt seriously ill thinking of how unfair this whole situation was for him
I'm even later to the game, or actually, I'm watching some NF and Eurovision videos now, because they're all coming in a timespan of 3 to 4 months, so it's not that easy to see everything and sometimes, I'm getting videos into my feed that I haven't watched before.

Justice for Jann!!
Im a worried because final decision belongs to our national conservative tv station controled entirely by our conservative government. Polish people will vote for Jann no matter what. We want this as much as u guys want. If it will get rejected then its because our stupid politics. :)
i think if he has an amazing performance, then they wont be able to rig it against him. if he doesnt do very well, they have an excuse to pick someone else

I have question regarding lyrics: why there is "adiction's atention" and not "atention adiction" ?
yea its a slightly unusual sounding lyric. I think he means "your addiction is attention" - cos you can put 's after a word to mean ownership but also to mean "is". i think thats what he means.
He is the only possible choice. I am really worried though that our National broadcaster will try to send one of their favorites. I hope I am wrong.
They will most likely send Alicia with another "power ballad",I'm afraid.
@@ESCTom yeah, 'safe enough' is the key here :D they are conservative and it seems that Jann is far from it. Anyways - we shall see next week! :)
(That was sarcasm, disclaimer just in case.)
Yes that's a real song TVP put into the NF. Yes it's literally about booty. No I don't know how or why they picked it.
lol yea i saw that title but havent seen the song yet. well maybe if thats really shocking, itll make Gladiator seem more acceptable 😅
@@ESCTom well, not to spoil the song, but shocking isn't really the right word for it. It's... it's like someone trying to take only the "Booty hypnotic" lyric of SloMo and stretching that into 3 minutes.
lol dont worry youre not spoiling, i think the spoiler is in the title "Booty" 😂

Rip he didn't make it, instead of him, blanka with 'Solo' will make it to the finals
Not sure about this one, I feel if finland chooses cha cha cha it will totally blow any chances this may have
Lol xD no way, Gladiator MUCH better.
It's different from Cha Cha Cha,though,at least musically. It might also happen that neither of them will win their national final.Finland has some fantastic options to choose from this year besides Cha Cha and Poland might choose Alicia Szemplinska or someone else.
i think they could both work, especially if Jann plays up a feminity, because i feel like Käärijä has a strong masculinity in his performance style
This is the best choice, people will love him

Why Poland thinks that TVP should withdraw Blanka from ESC and give a chance to Jann Gladiator.
Let’s wait and see the song, but yea from the title of the song, I can see why you think it will be about it
