She said she wanted to write books and write books she did throughout her life. People thought she was a ditzy blonde but she was far from that. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend to all. She was so smart with her health and shared that knowledge with us all. RIP Suzanne.
So interesting her talking about falling on the runway because before her passing she spoke of falling twice. On three's company she played a clutz. It's weird because so many actors die from ways they portrayed in some of their roles....like many have. Suzanne was so iconic and beautiful. RIP 🙏 ❤
Business wise as well, a little thing called the thigh master made her $300 million.
Totally agree, I believe one book title was Keeping Secrets, about her growing up in a family with an alcoholic...very honest, a blue eyed blonde, I usually can tell the amount of personal integrity a person has based on the length of their marriage. I'm 65, it's sad that so many people I grew up watching on TV pass away.😢
Never saw her ditzt, on or off showw.
Suzanne's book Keeping Secrets changed my life for the better. She is a gifted writer. I'll miss her
The world is a better place for her having been here. She gave joy to millions.
how confident and warm kind she was even back then!! Suzanne was destined for great things in her life. The world will miss this shining angel!!
Leave it to Suzanne to be an instant hit on Johnny Carson. She had a warmth and joy that was so genuine that you felt her love. And she ends up getting Johnny and Ed hugging 🎉. What a talented and confident lady she’s always been. Lovvvve this video. She won Johnnys heart for sure just like she did the rest of us.
Bless you Suzanne 🙏🏻🎉.My heart goes out to Alan 💕 to both of you
Johnny's heart was just the first! The world soon fell in love with her. She was a sex symbol, an actor, and an entrepreneur. Not in that order, oh wait... Not in order of importance. She gave encouragement to women when they needed it most.
Her self confidence is very noticeable. She appears so comfortable and relaxed that one would think she was a regular of the Carson show.
❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉😢
RIP Suzanne christmas snow Sommers
Johnny was a class act, never to repeated.
A comedic genius who just so happened to be drop-dead gorgeous ! What a star ✨✨✨
Absolutely! She played that character on " three's company " to make the dynamic work! The show took on a humanistic/humble/wholesome quality.
As usual Johnny let the guest speak a lot and shine. She was a nice lady.
I like that he spelled out her last name, "S-O-M-E-R-S," to make sure people got it right, especially casting agents and publicists who probably tuned into Johnny on a regular basis.
She looks so young! Wow! Just 28 years old on this show. 😊 Always a sweet disposition and beautiful smile behind her gorgeous appearance. She was a smart cookie! Never a “dumb blond” although they made her play that part. Very sweet poem stating “there are rules for beautiful girls to abide by”. Her Catholic school education paid off. RIP Suzanne Somers, we will miss you 😔
catholic "education and helped" her????,hah.😂 IMO The catholics are just as Bios as most all of the Religious Cult Schools!!!!, She Became Famous on her own Talents and beauty/ Personality😊 and being at the right place at the right time.
@@jeanalee1more847bias
@@jeanalee1more847maybe I did give too much credence to Catholic education, just hope she found the Lord in a personal way. After writing this I read her father was an abusive alcoholic. That was not good either
@@estherchandler7134 agreed 👍 .... I am Sure She is in a Good place.
It is a statistically proven fact that a Catholic School education produces higher academic performers especially in written expression and thinking skills. This would have been doubly true all those years ago when Suzanne would have attended a Catholic school fro it was classically based and focussed on high level proficiency in reading and writing. So yes Esther you were completely correct.
Obviously before Three's Company. Her innocence and honesty are charming and her intelligence is clear. So glad for her that she had such a long, happy marriage.
This was how the Three's Company people saw her and I believe they contacted her the next day to replace the other Chrissy.
It was nice seeing someone at the beginning of her career and sad knowing she has passed. RIP Suzanne
That's a bummer. I was blissfully unaware until I saw your post, I thought the JC channel just randomly uploaded a video of hers, I didn't even consider the reason as to why.
Very strange how she passed away the day before her birthday.

Almost 50 years ago. Seems like only yesterday. Thanks for the memories, RIP Suzanne.
My friends and I saw her live @ The Hilton Las Vegas January 1985, one of the things that surprise us was how funny she was onstage, and what a great singer and personality she had, she picked a very old gentleman from the audience to get up on stage and accompany her in a a love song, the man said “I feel my knees buckling” everyone had a good laugh.
Beautiful woman in and out, poise and elegant, she left her mark in the world indeed.
We learn more about people after they die. Suzanne was much brighter and sweeter than I realized. She WAS beautiful and so much more.
Fearless person . Wrote about her alcoholic father, long before people were writing that type of book. Formed her own Vegas show, when people still saw her as the one who got fired in Threes Company . Courage-- this lady had it.
Suzanne was my favorite actress on three's company.and John Ritter was my best actor.may they both rest in peace.
He dear husband Allan did her no favor’s going to bat and believing she was the star and deserved a boost. The boost was from )20,000 an episode to $150,00. Of course she got the boot.
Alan had a part in that.
@@suestephan3255 He was right! She was a tremendous talent but I don't think the plan was to usurp the great John Ritter, just get what she was worth. Sometimes that's how it goes. We should all have someone like Allan in our corner. Stop trying to paint every woman as a victim and find a man to blame feminist! Three's Company was not the end of her career.
What a beautiful innocent honest soul she was, as beautiful in her mind as she was in body. One of the most natural, girl next door beauties Tv and Movies ever had. May she rest in peace.
Love this - Johnny was so gracious and kind with her.. my goodness she was so sweet. Bring classy back ..
She's well before my time but you can literally see these men get goosebumps when she saunters to her seat. She was obviously a stunningly beautiful woman, tremendously bright and talented, and by all accounts kind and considerate to everyone. Most women that ridiculously gorgeous are arrogant, she clearly was very humble. May she rest in peace.
Well said. She seemed to not possess women's usual narcissistic tendencies. Rest In Peace.
She was our Marilyn Monroe. Absolutely stunning, sadly missed. Gorgeous, talented and funny.
💜💜💜💜💜💜😇😇😇😇😇😇😘
If you remember she really did not have much screen time in American Graffiti.
Her impact was incredible just by the crowd reaction. This clip was about six months after
the film's release. What a mystery girl she was. RIP......😍😍
Today, she would have turned 77. Instead, we are in mourning. Yesterday is a day we will never forget. RIP sweetie.😢❤
Beautiful, inside and out. I'm so sad she is gone.
Suzanne Somers will be missed. She was incredible. Also, Johnny really helped her career out a lot because Johnny Carson's Tonight Show (The Real Tonight Show) made it possible for her to be on Three's Company 3 years later.
RIP Suzanne. You give many of us...The other cancer suvivors some hope. Rest well Chrissy. You are an inspiration.
She was only “Chrissy” for one year. She was the brilliant Suzanne for 45+ years. But agreed - Rest in Sweet peace Suzie, you earned it.
@@g-girl9867- She played the character from the show's premiere in early 1977, and stayed until early 1981.
Definitely longer than a year. Almost half of "Three's Company"'s entire run, actually.
@@ThamiumOne Thanks, I did read that after on another site.
Great upload. Suzanne was my first real TV crush. Loved her from the start. Rest In Peace Beaultiful Lady. ❤
She was so elegant & had so much poise. She also was really funny , & effortlessly knew how to act on camera. Step by Step was a REALLY fine , well written tv series. RIP Susanne , you were one of a kind , for sure.❤😢
She was just lovely ~ A real sweetheart 🩷 Watched "Three's Company" All Day Yesterday ~ Loved that Era ~ Would love to be back in that Era again ~ Peaceful & Fun ~ Apartment Parties All the Time ~ We all shared the expenses ~ Worked Hard ~ Saved Our Money ~ 🌸 Sweet Lovely Suzanne ~ Chrissy 🍬
Rest well Suzanne, enjoyed your movies and tv, just learned that you ❤went to heaven.
50 years goes by fast. I used to watch Carson and Three's Company in the 70s.
Somehow, fifty years seems like a lie, but it indeed has been that long ago.
So soft on the eyes an very intelligent, with only a week in Hollywood! Rip Suzanne ☺️😊😘
What a talented and beautiful woman. It was a good time when she was young in the 70s. The world was a great place
The beautiful and talented Suzanne Summers, rest in peace
Ms. Somers was incredibly kind and talented. She was always warm and vivacious. In addition to this, she was an astute business person who knew her worth. In short, she was terrific.
Beautiful, so smart, funny and so kind....A true legend and will be so missed by all the people that loved her!! RIP Suzanne💓💓💓💓👼👼👼👼
A beautiful women. Now a beautiful Angel in Heaven.
So sad is her passing, at too early of an age yet.😢. Beautiful lady, both inside, and out. ❤.
The first time I saw her was in the Magnum Force movie in 1974.
She was in the pool scene. Great movie
As a teenager, Threes Company was one of my favorite shows. And it was because of Chrissy. Beautiful woman
In Hollywood a week and the poise and confidence of a seasoned celebrity! You can see she was a natural
Stunningly beautiful, smart, classy and fun. RIP Suzanne
RIP Suzanne.
Wow just yesterday.
@@marylee2732sick long awwwwwwww😢
She had such a soft voice
Reminds me of Marilyn Monroe's voice, in the movies, tho I'm not sure what she sounded like in real life.
Who didn’t have a crush on Suzanne Somers in the 70s I know I did..
I had a crush on her in the 2000s and 2010s. Also loved her in _Step by Step_ reruns she was so HOT in.
RIP Suzanne. I just loved her….funny and so cute……❤
Thank you for sharing these fantastic historical videos.
Great times in the USA.....
God bless 🙏. RIP Johnny Carson 🙏
Its always sad when a celebrity passes. I'LL always remember
this beauty. She was always happy, fun , interestingand always honest about the things that were important to her.....A REALLY GOOD PERSON. My sympathies for her husband at this time. Speaking of which he hit the lotto with Suzzane. I'M referring to there love for one another. Hollywood marriages often never stick. BUT these two to did. I Believe they were true soul mates. RIP SUZANNE SOMMERS. You were one of the good ones as they say. 😢❤
Well said 💜
Beautiful person inside and out. I watched Threes Company with my Mom when it aired. I felt a connection to her, we share the same birthday.
She was one of the first to unwittingly bring out how women were indeed treated differently than men in hollywood. They still are, but things are getting better. She was a good woman who stood by her principals. Rip, beautiful girl.
I agree and she was such a kind person who brought nothing but positivity to the world with never a harsh word for anyone. Also she didn't let her extreme beauty get to her head, she remained humble her entire life, a rare quality for extremely good looking people.
She was so beautiful young and old, what a sweetheart she was. How rare also that she had such a long happy marriage in Hollywood! May she rest in peace. Prayers for her family.
You are a Doll Suzanne !!!You always were a Doll and will be remembered as such; God Bless you 🙏. Semper Fi ❤.
Suzanne Somers was a very inspiring women. She had that ability to get us to test ourselfs and takes risks to be a better person and ultimatly have a better life. RIP Suzanne.
Genuinely kind smart funny joyful Spirit. So loyal to her family.
One of the all-time beauties!
I realize by watching this how capable and talented she really was right from the beginning. A totally natural
*THANK YOUUUU* Johnny Carson Channel(!) 😭🥺🥹😌😔😔☺️😊☺️☺️🥺🥹🧸 A Bright Light - Goes Out here on Planet Earth and Your Savvy, Astute, and Respectful Enough to Salute That. 🎭🧸.
She was the reason men watched, was being paid way less than John. Now, no one would complain about her asking for a bigger salary
John Ritter was making 120 thousand dollars more per season than she was - she was totally right to ask for the same amount! It was wrong of them to fire her.
When the cast of Friends renegotiated their contract, they did so as a group: "We each get $X per episode, or we all walk." I believe it was David Schwimmer's idea to use that tactic, and it worked beautifully -- those actors are all living very comfortably now. I often wonder if that strategy was informed by Suzanne's experience on Three's Company. IMO it was very selfish of John Ritter to be okay with his female co=stars being paid so much less than him.
@@SarahRenz59
Yes...Somers and Ritter never spoke to each other for many years but eventually did.
@@SarahRenz59happened all the time in hollywood, and still does. Just like vanna white and what’s his name.
There’s no such thing as equal pay, even though it’s the law, and we all know it . Happens everywhere, and especially in high tech in Silicon Valley. We thought we came a long way.. ha! Lately we are back in 1972.
John Ritter came on to the show with a HUGE list of acting credits and awards. He was a terrific comedic actor. Suzanne had almost no credits. It’s dumb of her to think she should be paid exactly the same as him - maybe near the same but not the same.
She was cute & had big tits. That was her draw and her acting skills limited.
We all take life for granted. At the time this was recorded, Ill bet Johnny ans Suzanne were not thinking about death.
rip, you were a Ray of Light and laughter, gone but will never be forgotten.......
I guess that's why this Johnny Carson episode was in my feed: she died yesterday. That's something, seeing her at the very beginning of her launch into stardom, at this time.
And she was a nobody in Hollywood but got a full guest spot on the Johnny Carson show? Wow. She must have made quite an impression on Johnny in the commissary that day.
Angels around Dear Suzanne Ty for all the laughs 🍃🕊️🍃🕊️🍃🕊️🍃
A huge 3’s Company fan growing up. RIP🙏🏽✝️💙
Wow Ed McMahon getting up and hugging Johnny was priceless. That was a perfect response. He was quiet but he was a great man too.
Suzanne also appeared on Carson on December 30, 1982 to do "Take Back That Mink" (from "Guys And Dolls") & the remake of Neil Sedaka's "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do".
I just ❤ Take Back the Mink( take back the poils,)
I love this. She’s a beautiful soul.
Johnny admonishes members of the band for making catcalls at Sommers, then turns his head and stares right at her bosom. 😀 0:57
As a breast cancer patient she has been a beautiful inspiration to. Me for many years thank you Susan
❤Elegant young lady. Sweet voice so poised. No wonder her husband of 46 yrs loved so much. 😢
Suzanne was uniquely beautiful, very level headed, very witty, and had a good heart.... RIP Suzanne prayers for her family.....
Absolutely! She was an extraordinary beauty, inside and out.
It is nice seeing her with minimal makeup. She looked beautiful with minimal and more pronounced makeup.
She was beautiful and funny. RIP.
Such a lovely woman. Gone too soon.
She was to Three's Company like Curly was to the Three Stooges: The best one.
I cannot tell you how disappointed I was as a young boy, Saturday morning, time for the 3 Stooges, and get hit with a Shemp 😢
She was so adorable. I can’t believe she is gone. 😢
That poem is beautiful -- wow.
Well that’s the sweetest interview ever!
She was such a beautiful, funny, and very intelligent woman. I admired all of the research that she had done on aging. A truly amazing woman!
She was incredibly talented and kind. Wow!
She was an earth angel and now she’s returned to Heaven. ❤
Beautiful woman, but more importantly, she was a beautiful spirit. I'll miss you Suzanne.
What a “beautiful girl”! I got it Suzanne, I got it. RIP😢
i had no idea she wrote so many books. and from that lil bit from that book it would seem she's not an airhead in the least bit. and of course ole johnny was as classy as ever, well mostly anyway.
Oh my goodness, look at her hair!! So gorgeous. Miss you Suzanne 🥲
Everyone gets their time in the sun. Obviously that was hers. Hopefully she appreciated it, most of us don’t. Frankly, most don’t even realize it came.
Your poetic comment has me tearing-up, Vito.
Beautiful.
Thank you. 🍃🍂

💖. Had to Google that prophetic quote:
New York Times best-selling author,
Morgan Matson, from 2012s
"Second-Chance Summer".
I'm an athletic, stage-4 cancer survivor (2020),
and my healthy 59-yr.-old beloved,
of 16 yrs., died of Covid. (Nov., 2021)
Never expected to outlive him.
Always joked about how I'd haunt him;
we laughed about it.

Suzanne Somers (San Bruno, California, 16 de octubre de 1946-Palm Springs, California, 15 de octubre de 2023) fue una actriz estadounidense.
RIP Beautiful
When I was a kid, I used to go into a small store in Pacifica Ca. and they had newspaper clippings of Suzanne, she was their niece. I remember she also went to Mercy Catholic High School in Burlingame ca. She was a cutie!
That was a beautiful imterview! RIP, Suzanne!
Rest in peace Suzanne!❤❤❤😢
I kept waiting for her to snort with her laugh...😂😂❤
Great interview, she was really a joy of a person.
Wow Suzanne had it all looks intelligence class sense of humor Sweet Disposition I could go on this is priceless to watch this show she just came to California week before how amazing but she was amazing rest in peace Suzanne you were the best
So classy and elegant back then compared to how the new generation dresses today.
I like how Suzanne yawned when talking about catholic school but I bet you if she were alive today she would say she would absolutely do it again or homeschool. I believe that’s where her boundaries came from and helped to make her a strong woman. Rip Suzanne.
I agree. She may not have realized then, but those 16 years of Catholic girl school education must have been a great influence on her formation as a human being.
She was a charming and talented lady. 😢
Incredibly poised for being brand new to Hollywood and being on the tonight show. Very impressive.
The Atypical Blonde
A
Shining countenance full of wit charm grace and smarts.
Broke the mold.
She had a very hard childhood...so it's lovely to see her so charming and actualized here❤❤❤
She doesn't have the dumb blonde persona of chrissy snow. How wonderful to see her as she really was: smart, classy, genuine, funny, kind and warm. Incredibly beautiful to boot!
