I still don’t understand why Italians are still treating foreigners like this in 2024. Chale upon all the sacrifice foreigners have contributed to the country smh 🤦

well based on ISTAT and other statistical sources, immigration hasn't provided a significant boom to the production of Italian state or other European countries, at the same time it worsened the welfare state and security of the country and countries... sadly the issue is in mentality of both immigrants and natives who have different cultures, thinking, religion and so on... In Italy as an immigrant myself, they are quite racist, even me with italian citizenship heard people saying "torna al tuo paese (go back to your country)" more than once...
This type of thinking won't go away, ofc it mostly comes from people who are 40+ and older but younger people also start to have it with news portraying immigrants as "criminals" and also older generations teach kids to not trust immigrants much... at the same time, immigrants with kids don't teach their kids to adapt and be part of the italian community and adapt their laws, i see many kids being friends with only those of the same country of origin and not integrating that well...
Anyway the longer you live here, the better picture you will see, i've been living here for 20 years now, came her only as 9 years old.
