Yoru is like an advanced level technique that if your amazing with him he will be op. All valorant characters are the same but yoru is one of the unique ones where if you aren't VERY experienced with him you can't play him, don't matter how good you are.
Nah I started main yoru from the start. He does take some getting used to but his simple combos like tp flashes are just so effective and good in low elo

Nah Yoru is definitely a better agent overall. The only good thing about Raze is her satchels for entry. Her nade can be used in very few situations. If you play in pro leagues it's almost useless because no team gathers together in one place for her nade to be useful. For defense she only has boom bot. Again only good for corners but it's hp and range is too low. Unlike Raze Yoru has both offense and defense capabilities. Raze entry is bad if you don't have a smoker. Unlike that Yoru has flash and tp combo which is really good. Plus he is immune to sentinels during entry. In defense he can just roam around to find free kills and get back to safety. His clone and fake foot by clones is also good for defense to hold enemies.
Yoru and the classic duelist (Jett, Raze) are the best for team. During the attack, the main duelist enters the site with the team, and Yoru is kill a pull/push. On defense, the main dul is a retake, and Yoru is closed/lurk. Yoru and Neon are generally the best duo in the game in terms of abilities. It is simply necessary to select a peak of agents that complement each other, and not three selfish duelists.

I think people thought picking yoru was a troll, as probably people who had no idea about his kit, decided to pick him anyway, without knowing his true potential and how insane he can be. In all honesty, Yoru is not that bad of a duelist that only problem him is that: 1. Other Duelists has more utility than him. 2. His Teleports are somewhat a super risky but amazing entry (with proper team support) When you teleport, it is very hard to reclaim your trade due to you tp-ing out of your teams lines. But he's very fun to play, and definitely a viable agent with proper support.
He's a really great duelist for defending as you can rotate immediately with a tp and you also can flash through smoked off areas since his flash is probably one of the best in the game. I haven't played in a while but yeah he seems like the best duelist defending. For attacking, the clone is great for ruining setups while also using it as a trade and you can flash for your team quite well because the flash is very flexible. Yoru is also a great lurker if you have a second duelist and he's great for faking a site push. He's very versatile, but you need the right support and comms as well as skill to make it work. Overall, not bad.
i think he has the potential to be great. I feel like if the visibility on the tp was a lil dimmer, the sound was quieter, and the ult disfigures the map of the person he's looking at. (not saying these are 100% best changes just my opinion on him)
Nah, the sound of TP and ults is the main component for it, since fake TP and clone only work with loud sound. As for the fact that the TP is visible - in ranked on diamonds or asks, very rarely people paid attention to the TP, much less destroyed it.
I’m not sure if lowering his TP sounds is a good idea. Like sure it makes so that Yoru cant be spotted as easy and reduces enemies camping on Yoru, but at the same time by lowering the volume makes Yoru’s TP a lil bit too OP. I guess this is just a way of Riot to balance all agents which has different strenghts and weaknesses. Just to put in comparison, Omen and Yoru both have TP abilities. Omen’s TP can only be used at short distance but it’s not too loud especially on the spot where he’s TPing to, while on the other hand Yoru’s TP can be used almost globally, but it’s so loud so that it’s not too overpowered
Omen's tp ult audio cue radius is 22.5 meters. Yoru's gatecrash audio cue radius is 42.5 meters. For reference, the spike's EXPLOSION radius is 35 meters. Yoru's gatecrash can be heard from further distance than the spike will kill you. I'm not saying his gatecrash should be the same as omen's teleport by no means, but reducing it to 30 meters would definitely be a nice qol change. Furthermore, the audio detection radius for when the gatecrash tether is deployed is over twice as far as the visual detection radius. Audio detection radius is 12.5 meters, visual detection radius is 4 meters. Here's a couple suggestions: 1. Decrease audio detection radius of both the tether, and the actual teleport by about 12 or so meters. This way, the enemies have to actually be near the TP to hear the teleport and be on the lookout for the gatecrash when holding angles. 2. Don't decrease anything, but let Yoru better control where the gatecrash goes. On certain maps particularly haven comes to mind, if a defensive yoru isn't careful about how he places his gatecrash for a quick site teleport to help his team defend and engage, his gatecrash can keep going to be directly on the site, meaning if he takes it, he can end up super exposed for basically no reason bc you have to know how the gatecrash is going to move against the terrain. Also gatecrash can be destroyed by ally and enemy deployables. Idk why fucking viper poison on the ground destroys an interdimensional gateway teleporting tether, but i mean okay. To play devils advocate, the problem with reducing Yoru's audio values is that players are so conditioned to think they'll hear the gatecrash when it happens that people will be very angry if Yoru starts being able to make some types of plays undetected. But honestly it should have been lower from the jump. Forcing players to wonder where the Yoru might teleport to, or play in positions so that they can tell if the Yoru is planning to teleport etc.
What?! I've never heard people say he's bad and he's in practically every match I play since I started since Valorant came to consoles! He's so popular he was the first extra agent I bought. He can fool enemies with decoys, and use his teleport and ultimate to get behind enemy lines. He's fantastic. Doesn't even seem like a duelist to me lol
Ironically, Yoru is the most versitile agent from the game imo, being the exactly OPOSSITE of Chamber. While Chamber concept traps the character in a specific niche of north of actions, Yoru allows the player to have a far more dynamic moviment and choices to get through or being in another places in the map, due it's teleport and ultimate. Indeed, it was mostly BAD before the rework, but after it i see that Yoru improved A LOT more. It's not easy to play with it, however, if you menage to do it, then it becomes very fun to use and quite helpful along with other duelists (especially). Also, allows the player with making traps with the flashbang and the clone, playing the enemy's mind, which is a very nice aspect added to the agent gameplay. Sadly, a lot of people aren't very good at understanding this and messed up, but i guess this is part of the learning in the end lol. Great video.

Hear me out, Yoru's only problem in his current state, is that his flash is so loud. Every other agent with a comparable flash has a near silent flash windup. Excluding Reyna and Breach as exceptions. Yoru's flash is easy to dodge, because the noise it makes is so distinct, loud, and tells you exactly where it is. The best Yoru flashes, are the ones the enemies don't see bounce. If riot turned down the audio on his flash, he would be way more effective. It's inexcusable that Phoenix, Skye, and Kayo's flashes are all near dead silent when deployed and winding up.
Actually his loud flash makes sense, as an agent who based around outplay... You can throw yorus flash in a different direction and this would make the enemies to focus on that direction. His flash isnt just used for blinding enemies only
It's funny, because Yoru is probably the only agent that you HAVE to use from the very start of playing Valorant in order to get good. And I mean the VERY start. The chances of you meeting someone who mains Yoru and is good at it while starting maining him after a month of maining LITERALLY ANY OTHER agent is about 0:1 odds.
Been playing yoru ever since release, still my best agent. IMO he didn't even need buffs, he was already strong. People just don't know how to play him correctly.
here is a good buff that will balance yoru let the dude send a teleport and a clone comes out of the teleport to fake enemies out. and maybe give his ultimate a longer duration. just so you know I have never played yoru but I feel like these improvements can make greater outplays so you can finaly be better in other maps like maybe haven?
PRX are one of the true pioneers with low tier agents. Well done. 11:08 I love this play from G2, once juliano tp towards the cubby at long and Mary oped Astra on the back. It was a wired play for a crossfire which was cool.
I think my favorite part of this video is how he used Kieran’s reaction to Yoru, he got hyped every time a new agent was on screen and seeing a grown man get that giddy over a game he’s never played was honestly kinda nice, especially how forced and fake some reaction channels can be.
Yoru makes me think of Neon's ultimate ability. It relies on enemies mistakes, which makes it extremely easy below diamond and super difficult at higher level
cap, yoru gets better as you climb, when I Smurf I avoid playing yoru cause I feel like below diamond or low asc, they just don't think so there is no point
i did a 1v1 with my friend on bind with yoru, that match shook me to my very core especially because he was super ballsy and always played unexpectedly
if they added shorter weapon equip or lowered the teleport sound, or atleast made it drop off quicker, itd be useful changes. Now literally everyone in that side of the planet can hear yoru tp and it takes a while to equip a gun so enemies can take a nap before theyre in danger.
Yoru as a psuedo initiator is extremely good, even though his utility is obviously not as strong as a real initiators'. I like to see him trade off some entrying abilities for a semi-initiator kit. Many people also fail to realize that his whole kit revolves around fakes, so calling him trash because you flash tp combo every damn round isn't valid. you gotta mix it up. his flash is the best flash in the game for fakes, period.

I played Yoru for over 6 months and he is still one of my favourites, You can call his abilities and him useless untill you are almost one with him, and trust me once you are familiar with his techniques you are gonna love it.
Yoru is good it's a lot people still confused about ability and timing to use his ability.. Like when spiket drop and you have ultimate you can use the ultimate to take the spike and fake plant or do fake clone ultimate or fake tp ultimate or do fake tp and fake clone. The problem when people use yoru is his flash they sometimes trow flash and blind his teammate
Ngl, the only problem with Yoru is the fact that some of the best valorant players have used him and dominated with him (think Eggster, Codey, etc), so they can't give any real buffs. However, for typical lobbies/non-pro players? Most can't use Yoru for shit, not to mention other duelists just have some greater qualities like Raze's boombot for information, or Jett dash for escaping (Yoru's tp is much slower/riskier), so even normal pro-players have no real reason to go out of their way to learn Yoru, or play him in VCT/Tourney's since they can get the same, if not greater, usage out of alternative duelists. TLDR; We get fucked cus the best Yoru main's are crazy bastards who (at the moment) repeatedly claim rank 1
Yoru is like Spy from TF2 (Team Fortress 2), in the sense that he relies on deception to beat his opponents. And in TF2, Spy is treated as the worst class in TF2 because he's the worst at head-on confrontations due to his kit. So it's just proven that basing an entire kit around fooling your opponents doesn't typically turn out well, since players get more experienced dealing with them, making them outdated. With Spy, sure he has the ability to oneshot people from behind with a backstab. But he's among the 4 classes with the lowest health pool (125), he can easily be stopped and killed just by the enemy turning around (even easier than you'd think since most weapons in TF2 have high burst dmg around 90 base dmg for shotguns, spy has a 40 base dmg revolver), he can only escape by using his cloak to turn invis but it's easy to track him since spy evasion patterns are predictable, and he tends to get screwed over since melee hit registration is faulty. However, in Yoru's case, he doesn't have Spy's weaknesses as he still has the same guns as everyone else (everyone has oneshot potential), same health pool, doesn't need to risk getting into melee range, and can easily escape with flashes, teleports and his ult if he's caught out.
honestly, i think the bigger problem is just the character type in this game, most specific, decivers in fps games, you don't need to look far to see that they hardly ever worked, spy from tf2, mirage fom apex, and any other hardly work if all their kit is purely based in deciving, of course, beacuse of it being a tatical shooter, yoru actualy can work and be a very efficient agent if on the right hands(just like spy and mirage), it's just that all of this characters have a extreme high skill cellings that, most of the times, require lots of risks, and other characters in the same game can get mostly the same reward without the risk, but saying they are completely useless is a little to much, they just take a lot, and a lot of time and practice so that someone knows how to use then efficiently

Yoru has a kit that requires some mastery, you need to have IQ to perform with him. He asks alot of you and has one of the highest skill ceilings for optimal gameplay. My radiant friend went semi pro while young before focusing on his family and professional career, and his signature character was Yoru, taking him to Radiant 400+
i still remember seeing a yoru on my team one of my first games clutch a 1v3 using the flash and tp to mindgame everyone. It was like the exact moment i was like “wow, this is valorant”
I have an idea for his tp that can always work: When you're in a 1v1 you send a tp behind the ennemi and you fake it. The ennemi will be forced to look behind him and in front of him because he doesn't know where you are :)
Fast forward 8 months yoru is no longer known as a troll. Hes seen being played more in ranked. As for vct, he still isnt played as much as jett and raze but can be seen in pro play.

As a deadlock and yoru main I'm kinda sad people treat them like this. Deadlock can deliver the spike to the defenders if the enemy's to slow. Yoru can be a hard carry agent unless you can't take advantage of timing or movement. Got 2 enemies on ya? Flash and jump away from their crosshair and they both are dead

No hate but As an Omen, Clove and Fade player, babysitting Yoru into reaching the same potential as a basic "smoke heaven rush to site" is a chore, meanwhile the average Yoru player with main character syndrome is about to TP into an active gunfight and getting smoked out frame one like it happened in 9:43 Compare it to Reyna, ISO or Phoenix who will take space for themselves, Jett, Neon or Raze who take space for the team and Yoru being a sneaky way to disrupt enemy comms for 10 seconds is gonna cause nearly no impact in macro.
I always make cluches with Yoru in a 1v3 and 1v4 situations, he's amazing if u have a critical thinking, if u just play him mindlessly trying to get kills, than it's on you

I think personally Yoru is a really good agent. Since I’m in lower elo, (bronze 3 - silver 2) I’ve had extremely funny moments with his tps and clones. I know in higher ranks people will expect it more, but in his fundamentals Yoru is a fun ass agent to play and that’s all that really matters.

What?! I've never heard people say he's bad and he's in practically every match I play since I started since Valorant came to consoles! He's so popular he was the first extra agent I bought. He can fool enemies with decoys, and use his teleport and ultimate to get behind enemy lines. He's fantastic. Doesn't even seem like a duelist to me lol

Ironically, Yoru is the most versitile agent from the game imo, being the exactly OPOSSITE of Chamber.
While Chamber concept traps the character in a specific niche of north of actions, Yoru allows the player to have a far more dynamic moviment and choices to get through or being in another places in the map, due it's teleport and ultimate.
Indeed, it was mostly BAD before the rework, but after it i see that Yoru improved A LOT more. It's not easy to play with it, however, if you menage to do it, then it becomes very fun to use and quite helpful along with other duelists (especially). Also, allows the player with making traps with the flashbang and the clone, playing the enemy's mind, which is a very nice aspect added to the agent gameplay.
Sadly, a lot of people aren't very good at understanding this and messed up, but i guess this is part of the learning in the end lol.

Hear me out, Yoru's only problem in his current state, is that his flash is so loud. Every other agent with a comparable flash has a near silent flash windup. Excluding Reyna and Breach as exceptions. Yoru's flash is easy to dodge, because the noise it makes is so distinct, loud, and tells you exactly where it is. The best Yoru flashes, are the ones the enemies don't see bounce. If riot turned down the audio on his flash, he would be way more effective. It's inexcusable that Phoenix, Skye, and Kayo's flashes are all near dead silent when deployed and winding up.
Actually his loud flash makes sense, as an agent who based around outplay... You can throw yorus flash in a different direction and this would make the enemies to focus on that direction. His flash isnt just used for blinding enemies only
His flash being so loud is the perfect cover for his TP hence the combo. Besides his flash is infinitely easier to use than KAY/O's

It's funny, because Yoru is probably the only agent that you HAVE to use from the very start of playing Valorant in order to get good. And I mean the VERY start. The chances of you meeting someone who mains Yoru and is good at it while starting maining him after a month of maining LITERALLY ANY OTHER agent is about 0:1 odds.
Yoru is a S tier agent in his own ways you just have to put in the work to learn him.
Been playing yoru ever since release, still my best agent. IMO he didn't even need buffs, he was already strong. People just don't know how to play him correctly.
here is a good buff that will balance yoru let the dude send a teleport and a clone comes out of the teleport to fake enemies out. and maybe give his ultimate a longer duration. just so you know I have never played yoru but I feel like these improvements can make greater outplays so you can finaly be better in other maps like maybe haven?

I think my favorite part of this video is how he used Kieran’s reaction to Yoru, he got hyped every time a new agent was on screen and seeing a grown man get that giddy over a game he’s never played was honestly kinda nice, especially how forced and fake some reaction channels can be.
Yoru makes me think of Neon's ultimate ability. It relies on enemies mistakes, which makes it extremely easy below diamond and super difficult at higher level
cap, yoru gets better as you climb, when I Smurf I avoid playing yoru cause I feel like below diamond or low asc, they just don't think so there is no point
i did a 1v1 with my friend on bind with yoru, that match shook me to my very core especially because he was super ballsy and always played unexpectedly

Yoru as a psuedo initiator is extremely good, even though his utility is obviously not as strong as a real initiators'. I like to see him trade off some entrying abilities for a semi-initiator kit. Many people also fail to realize that his whole kit revolves around fakes, so calling him trash because you flash tp combo every damn round isn't valid. you gotta mix it up. his flash is the best flash in the game for fakes, period.

Like when spiket drop and you have ultimate you can use the ultimate to take the spike and fake plant or do fake clone ultimate or fake tp ultimate or do fake tp and fake clone. The problem when people use yoru is his flash they sometimes trow flash and blind his teammate

Ngl, the only problem with Yoru is the fact that some of the best valorant players have used him and dominated with him (think Eggster, Codey, etc), so they can't give any real buffs. However, for typical lobbies/non-pro players? Most can't use Yoru for shit, not to mention other duelists just have some greater qualities like Raze's boombot for information, or Jett dash for escaping (Yoru's tp is much slower/riskier), so even normal pro-players have no real reason to go out of their way to learn Yoru, or play him in VCT/Tourney's since they can get the same, if not greater, usage out of alternative duelists.
TLDR; We get fucked cus the best Yoru main's are crazy bastards who (at the moment) repeatedly claim rank 1
Yoru is like Spy from TF2 (Team Fortress 2), in the sense that he relies on deception to beat his opponents. And in TF2, Spy is treated as the worst class in TF2 because he's the worst at head-on confrontations due to his kit. So it's just proven that basing an entire kit around fooling your opponents doesn't typically turn out well, since players get more experienced dealing with them, making them outdated.
With Spy, sure he has the ability to oneshot people from behind with a backstab. But he's among the 4 classes with the lowest health pool (125), he can easily be stopped and killed just by the enemy turning around (even easier than you'd think since most weapons in TF2 have high burst dmg around 90 base dmg for shotguns, spy has a 40 base dmg revolver), he can only escape by using his cloak to turn invis but it's easy to track him since spy evasion patterns are predictable, and he tends to get screwed over since melee hit registration is faulty.
However, in Yoru's case, he doesn't have Spy's weaknesses as he still has the same guns as everyone else (everyone has oneshot potential), same health pool, doesn't need to risk getting into melee range, and can easily escape with flashes, teleports and his ult if he's caught out.
honestly, i think the bigger problem is just the character type in this game, most specific, decivers in fps games, you don't need to look far to see that they hardly ever worked, spy from tf2, mirage fom apex, and any other hardly work if all their kit is purely based in deciving, of course, beacuse of it being a tatical shooter, yoru actualy can work and be a very efficient agent if on the right hands(just like spy and mirage), it's just that all of this characters have a extreme high skill cellings that, most of the times, require lots of risks, and other characters in the same game can get mostly the same reward without the risk, but saying they are completely useless is a little to much, they just take a lot, and a lot of time and practice so that someone knows how to use then efficiently

Yoru has a kit that requires some mastery, you need to have IQ to perform with him. He asks alot of you and has one of the highest skill ceilings for optimal gameplay. My radiant friend went semi pro while young before focusing on his family and professional career, and his signature character was Yoru, taking him to Radiant 400+
i still remember seeing a yoru on my team one of my first games clutch a 1v3 using the flash and tp to mindgame everyone. It was like the exact moment i was like “wow, this is valorant”

Yoru kit is to put yourself in risky situations and if things play out you could get away with some good plays if you execute with your team correctly and not going in alone since people expect that but with other legend abilities yoru can really shine

As a deadlock and yoru main I'm kinda sad people treat them like this. Deadlock can deliver the spike to the defenders if the enemy's to slow. Yoru can be a hard carry agent unless you can't take advantage of timing or movement. Got 2 enemies on ya? Flash and jump away from their crosshair and they both are dead

i m gamer and i like challenges , so when i started yoru it was so difficult to play with him ,i was not getting kills always become bottom fragger but gradually i learn so many thing about yoru kits ,people think yoru is ueless but in my opinion yoru is the most diffrent kind of character among all , and my personality fit with yoru , that is the main point . u take character u suits most.i like to go from one corner of to other corner of ,fake tp ,clone and yoru ult is just a free kill if u know how to play ,in my humble opinion yoru is totally a diffrent kind of duelist who does not fit with other character .
yoru is the most flexible character in Valorant. He requires a really really big brain to play. his moveset is just mwuahh. clones, flashes, tp and a phase where you can get all the info. What else do you need. Yoru is my main since quite a while and I love Yoru

As a Yoru main I will say that he does suck, but I personally think hes the best agent to have fun with, but we all have our own opinions.

Compare it to Reyna, ISO or Phoenix who will take space for themselves, Jett, Neon or Raze who take space for the team and Yoru being a sneaky way to disrupt enemy comms for 10 seconds is gonna cause nearly no impact in macro.
I always make cluches with Yoru in a 1v3 and 1v4 situations, he's amazing if u have a critical thinking, if u just play him mindlessly trying to get kills, than it's on you

I think personally Yoru is a really good agent. Since I’m in lower elo, (bronze 3 - silver 2) I’ve had extremely funny moments with his tps and clones. I know in higher ranks people will expect it more, but in his fundamentals Yoru is a fun ass agent to play and that’s all that really matters.
