Hope this comment finds you well! Same gun but in. 25. I shoot jsb exact king diabolo's. 34.95's I believe. I'm pushing those out at 840 fps on average. I don't know about squirrels but I can tell you that coons at 80 and 100 don't stand a chance. The higher you go with speed the heavier the projectile needs to be, there's that take and give when your pushing air. And, shoot, shoot, shoot! Give the jsb exact kings a try if you haven't. In 22 any squirrel should be toast with your rig!
Hey buddy the reason why you keep on questioning if the slugs do open or expand, your gun is not powerful enough to push the slugs at the speed that they are designed for. I can tell you one thing out of my FX impact I blow things up at 980 ft per second with a 38.5. now I am shooting nsa's in the 25 caliber. I am looking forward to bumping my weight to the NSA 25 caliber 43.5 grains I want to push those at a thousand feet per second and I want to see what kind of devastation those will do for me.
@@jeroengoetstouwers8574 it's suggested to stay above the 900 mark but the preferred sweet spot is generally between 930-1000 fps. The more twist rate you have the less velocity it takes to stabilize slug in flight. As you have probably seen there's a ton of science behind these slugs but the 2 key pieces seem to be twist rate and fps. Hope this helps some
@@crashbash5554 cheers for that. I recently aquired a chronograph so I am going to test out some slugs. I own an air venturi avenger in .22 and bought a few slugs a while back on sale. Going from 17.5 to 38 grain
You said on the live stream. You make .217.5 slugs?
Nope 👎

What would you say is the "correct" speed for slugs. Someone told me anywhere between the 800 and 960fps range
