- 4 years after I sold my Jaguar F-Type, it's finally time to get another one! It feels like every year I've toyed with the idea of getting another Jag, but with everything going on in the world, I've decided the time is right to finally do it. Question is, F-Type SVR or new F-Type P450?

I honestly don't know why Jaguar hasn't sold more or fully understand the depreciation (especially on non SVR units). They're relatively reliable, look & sound amazing & are super fun to drive. Might need to powder coat your wheels to frosted gold & then race Chris Harris in his M2C. Very happy for you mate!
Such an underrated car! A classic British Sports/GT car in a beautiful design. Some might even call it a less expensive Aston?

As for the choice: SVR any day. A lot more special, and will probably hold its value better than a regular, albeit new F-type.

@@seenthroughglass Because of particulate filters, the new one won't and can't sound as good. And generally, new cars depreciate more. And the old SVR is just a thing of beauty. Please get one, and let us live vicariously through you!

Hope you get an old SVR rear wheel drive or another R?.more beautiful than the new one for me. I may even go for an R myself fingers crosseed in the coming year! Look forward to seeing you in your new F type later in the year.

I have had a random thought
I think a project 7 showcased on this channel would do wonders for the car and jaguar as a brand in general.😉
Problem with the Project 7, as Harry Metcalf has said, is that every mile depreciates it and its not really made for all weather operation. Where as the SVR, with a new pully and tune, will top 625 BHP and still be worth using all year around.

Looks better than the new one, which is just blend and boring in my opinion. This one looks at least like a Jaguar. The new one could be everything when you have no batch on it. Anyway: I think almost every other car in the segment is a better choice and that`s why the sales numbers are so low I guess.
Is the SVR still available brand new?
Gotta get the SVR for the wing! And its slightly louder. If Project 7 prices ever dropped below 100k that would be an amazing buy too!

I started following you when you had your first F-Type a few years back and I've always wanted one, recently I have been thinking about purchasing one and finally making the jump to my first real car. This was the sign I needed to make me get one!!

My mate just bought a regular F-Type R AWD and wow, it is amazing. Definitely worth snatching up a V8 like this before it’s too late

Same, great to see an F Type back! Just picked up a P450 and absolutely love it after decades of BMW ownership, current line up just leaves me cold. Characterful car the F Type V8's and V6's
As you have probably seen in my posts every time an F-Type is brought up; I love my 2015 F-Type S. To me the V6 S is, as Jeremy Clarkson put it, the sweet spot in the range. The sound is heavenly when it sings, and the crackles and pops are a riot on any occasion without being annoying. I have had my car on track at Circuit of the Americas, and have video my friend took from the grandstands where people were actually getting up and excited when "That orange Jag is coming by again!" If you go V6 or V8; either one will be great, just get a convertible. When you take it to Monaco; you won't regret having the ability to drop the top. As for color, you can't go wrong with Firesand Orange. :D Cheers!

Pre OPF facelift SVR is the sweet spot! 2017 - Sep 2018 Pop and bangs are incredible! Gives you the best of the F type!

The old shape F-Types will always hold a special place in my heart because of this channel. I still get blown away by them when i see one or get passed by one and not so much with the new one. I love that British Muscle Car look of the old one but the new one is sleek and elegant. I think they both are amazing and unique in their own ways but for me its the SVR

F Types are absolute keepers!! My contro opinion is that the V6 is may favourite. The twin exit exhaust is the best look!! (I may be bias because I own one 😆)

Get an SVO blue SVR they are absolutely stunning. Its like a gorgeous blue/ purple depending on where you look at it from. Dropped jaws everywhere it goes!
True story: A couple years ago on a pleasant cool morning on my way to work, windows cracked just a bit to let in the fresh air, I saw a F-type coming the other way. (Same color as this one you drove). In my head “Ooohhh, an F-type, man that car is....” and right as I was about to say beautiful, it passed by and I don’t know if the driver mashed the pedal or it was always that loud, but I literally screamed out loud. It’s exhaust note was soooo loud it scared the piss out of me. I laughed at myself for the next few miles. Will never forget that moment. A beautiful car with a mad exhaust.
And as much as I would watch every video if you did get an F-type, between the 360 and the 996, I think that would be a lot of the same type of car.

Brilliant!, but you need a convertible sam ! I bought my V8s convertible and added a quicksilver exhaust right off the back of your reviews when you did yours. It was the most fun i have ever had, and i have had a lot of nice sports cars. The convertible adds a layer of involvement with your environment a coupe can't match. So there's my recommendation, an SVR Convertible.. try one!

Sam, your passion for the F Type is like mine, i love them. I had a V6S and sold it an regretted it. After 2 years i am now back in a Chequered Flag edition V6. The exhaust has been dulled in the new ones but that is being taken care of. They are simply a special car.

This video makes me so happy, this car truly is all about smiles per gallon. The SVR has been my dream car since the day it came out, I remember watching the premiere of the release video. I was disappointed when I saw the styling of the new F-Type. Pre facelift is the way to go! My life goal to own one of the SVRs and I won’t stop working until I have one.

I finally tried an F Type last year. It was an SVR. Put a huge smile on my face. If the right car came up at the right time and the numbers were right I would be very tempted. Go for the SVR and enjoy the smile it will put on your face.
I can vouch for these guys, Alexanders recently bought my RS4 from me, absolute pleasure to deal with from beginning to end. Proper car guys as well...

Great video Sam. I’ve just come out of a P380 Chequered Flag into a P450 AWD. The new one is fantastic, as you know from when you drove it. My recommendation is go for a P450, the looks will grow on you and win you over once you have it in your possession. Plus the ride and handling in the new one is much better than the prior F-TYPE. Both fantastic cars but for my it has to be the new F-TYPE. Look forward to seeing what you finically decide upon! 👍🏻

The new one doesn't sound as good.
And yes you can change the exhaust on both on them.
But only on the SVR it is legal to in most countries.
2020 cars and newer are illegal to get a exhaust that makes more sound in some countries.
I do hope you get a F-Type though.
That was your best car in my opinion.

It has to be the SVR - I purchased one last summer, couldn’t possibly be happier! Just took it out of winter storage here in Canada, and the instant I hit the road it was pure motoring bliss. Theres something about the new models, a sense of occasion thats missing that only the SVR can provide.

I saw the P450 in the flesh today in London, and it is beautiful. But the exhaust of the SVR alone makes it an easy choice for me!

Been subscribed since you had the 4C, stopped watching after you sold the F-type, stayed subscribed since then, immediately clicked on this video.
Last month I bought my 3rd F TYPE , having previously owned a rear wheel drive R, then an SVR Coupe. With the introduction of the face lift model I figured now was the right time to buy one of the last SVR's and opted for a highly spec'd Convertible in black with red leather. Having previously owned a Mclaren 570GT I maintain the SVR has to be the best value super car money can buy in this sector. I see it being a classic.
I am so excited to see another F-Type on the channel. Hopefully it happens when Europe starts opening up again!

I think I visually prefer the new f-type front end, but I definitely prefer the old f-type rear end. Also I like seeing beautiful 2 seater sports cars drifting on wet/rainy roads, its just so peaceful.

I would have usually gravitated towards the new shape car for you to not get bored, but seeing how much you flippin enjoy the SVR it’s seems like a no-brainer!
2017/18 SVR without the particulate filter is what you need Sam.
The new shape looks terrible from the front imo...the only benefit of the new shape is the upgraded infortainment but you'd soon get used to the speed of response of the original.
Get out of the X3 and move on the Fiat and/or 996...job done.

Great choice. I got one in January my third because I couldn't live without one. convertible as yours an svr . Its now been worked on by vieuza up to 610bhp and now courtney Lloyd is ceramic coating it.

Can barely believe you can have a 13 reg V6S for new MX5 money. Such a big soft spot for these. Loved Harry Metcalfe's insider knowledge that all the running gear is specced to Land Rover levels of strength. Bodes well for the long term.
