One thing I truly believe the reason the Tahr are not being backfilled into the New Zealand map they are wanting us to buy the new map, then after some of the grinders get the GO they will put them in New Zealand.
Definitely not grinding rest zones and such. I’ll just go up there, hunt and hope one will spawn in one day.
He said there will be more horn variations and he referred the one he showed off as the big horn and wants to leave it to the community to figure out the other horns
"You're free to hunt anywhere and in any way you want" ~ the original gameplay trailer.
I really dont like them forcing the feed zone hunting on this great one. We should be able have all 3 options, since we can choose and it is the game's motto. Its not even realistic, since tahr do drink from lakes irl (looking at you too, chamois). Some people like this, but idk. I just think that if i wanna grind for these guys normally i should be able to, they shouldnt force a style on us, its unnecessary.
Having to grind to get a GO is literally forcing a style on everyone else too.
@@teejonly1365 yes. I do also think initial spawns should be a possibility.
I think it would've been so cool for the scar variation to potentially have a broken horn in some way. Nothing major, but it would be super cool trophy.
I just don’t understand how like you can’t just find a great one, like make it super rare cause not everyone likes the grinding aspect of the game
Honestly, I’m so glad that this great one is no drink zone. Finding one of these will be 10x the excitement of just grinding and I’m pumped to hunt these. Also, the white and albino look like mountain goats! Keep it up KC
Hmm, I'm not sure you listened to the video my man haha. They will still be grinded, at their feed and rest zones. You will not find one hunting unless you get extremely lucky and have a random one respawn after shooting one, they will need to be spawned onto your map. Not having drink zones is a step in the right direction but it's essentially the same grind to get one. Thanks for watching man.
Totally agree. There’s always going to be a loophole into grinding but at least we can make it a bit harder to do so
The tahr look like Victorian era sheep
From my experience grinding makes the species less fun, ima just hunt them and hope I get lucky xd
I wish the animal pop would reset each time you enter your maps (kinda like how the Hunter classic is) Grinders would hate it but it would be nice to have a fresh map each time and maybe a great one might randomly show up. I know it won’t most likely happen unless they plan a COTW2 at some point
It should be an option you can choose to set or not. I know people hate grinders for some reason, I don't get it. But it would suck for people who do like to grind to have that version of playing taken away because others don't like it. They could put that option in the Options menu, perhaps.
@@chrisinreallife2022 I don’t hate grinders it would just be nice to have another option to get GO or rares. Either you have to grind on your map for trophies or go on multiplayer in hopes you’re not on a modded server. Sometimes you’re lucky sometimes not.
I’m friends with a guy who shot the unofficial world record tahr this last season (wasn’t entered into the books) and it tapes out over 15 1/2 inches and the horns honestly looks pretty close to the one we saw. It’s just the goofy strait up and down angle for me, that’s just not what tahr look like. We identify a good bull based on his horns sweeping back and getting lost in its mane. I get why they did it it’s more impressive, but it looks weird to anyone who knows what they are looking at. I also hate the over the top great one fur variations, like I actually like the golden and the scarred because they look believable. That half white half Blake and skull ones and what not are nonsense. Might as well have a unicorn in the game…
Definitely doing the missions first, and eventually grinding for a GO Tahr. I don't do HM, I just shoot them for respawns.
There's nothing wrong with grinding, imo. It doesn't affect how anyone else plays the game. If you want to take the time and effort to do it, you can, and if not, you don't have to. And you'll still be able to get a Great One Tahr without grinding. You just hunt and shoot male tahrs while your out and about on your map, and every male always has a chance to come back as one. So technically, everyone has a chance to spawn one.
Also, he DID say there WILL be horn variations, he just didn't show them in the stream, he only showed the big rack.
I shot over 8000 Fallow Deer before a GO spawned. Just shooting a Tahr here and there and having one respawn into a GO is extremely unlikely and could literally take years to have happen, if ever. It's easy to say that farming respawns ("grinding") doesn't affect how anyone else plays the game but I can tell you that as a content creator, all of this HM grinding has very negatively affected my progression as someone who makes content on this game without using HM, as it drains the value out of the trophies in the game. Thank you for watching.
I'm so excited for this map to come out! All the animals, EW did a wonderful job!!
man... really wish they could've be initial spawns, oh well
There are map mods. People would just use the mod, see whats on the map, then reset their populations until they see the GO as an initial spawn....then hunt for it, claiming it was legit.
Idk bout you guys but I'm going to be grinding Snow Leopards when they come out.
@@KCPlanetGamingYes of course, hunting them, and what I mean by hunting them, I mean by limiting their population for conservational purposes. Ofc, I do want to hunt some Nilgai and Yak as well.
Just grind how you want. Youre using your money for your game play style. Enjoy your money spent how you want. Lol ✌🏻
I’m excited that ew is changes things and that now you have to hunt after grinding the game feels boring but after a muiltplayer game it feels like a amazing game instead of a grinding game
Hey KC! Can't wait to see what your next map and Great One prediction will be! It would be crazy if you got it right for the next map too! Also if you do grind for a Great One Tahr, you should 100% do a KC planet episode about it! Have a good day my man!
Haha thanks man. I actually put out a video guessing Sweden with a GO Moose before any clues were dropped for Revontuli Coast (Finland with a GO Moose). I also guessed Australia with a GO Fallow Deer before Emerald Coast.. I'm on a bit of a roll haha xD ..I won't be farming my Tahr respawns for a GO unfortunately, I will be focusing on hunting the amazing new animals and exploring, there will definitely be KC Planet episodes. Thanks for watching!
@KCPlanetGaming No problem! But yeah I can understand why you don't wanna grind. Call Of The wild was intended to be a hunting game not a shooting game. Some people (like yourself) know how to actually hunt. Where as others know how to shoot and buy bullets.
@@KCPlanetGaminggreat one moose came with the New England update, not revontuli
What’s your favorite fur kc? Mine is the fabled grey!
It will probably be more common
I just don’t get the no initial spawn great one. Like why do you not want players who don’t wanna grind have a chance at a great one?
There are map mods. People would just use the mod, see whats on the map, then reset their populations until they see the GO as an initial spawn....then hunt for it, claiming it was legit.
On the trophy plate, you will see only similar antlers, no fur.😊
This map has a lot of potential to be an amazing experience. But don't be mistaken there is a high risk of being a disaster. What if Tigers make hunting for other species too difficult, Its already said you should bring a dog , but that just increases you spooking potential also the terrain is some parts looks very hard to develop sight lines. AS much as I really love the idea of this map I would be lying if I wasn't nervous for DW on this one. Unfortunately we won't know until it goes public. Most early access TH-camrs will be trying hard to sell the map even if they don't end up liking it. (New England)
Sounds like a trophy at end of the missions. I think its the scar g1
@@WackyDuck103 they have something in the story. I hope it's a rare tiger with a tahr or something. They keep talking about the story.
Idk if you remember me but I kind of left this game for COD! But I’m back
The gold one is the best and i like them
They did a beautiful job on the Tahr, just a shame that the people who this map is catered towards-hunters, will probably never see one. But hey, isn’t it great we have another animal with ten different fur variants that you don’t have to look for since it looks for you? The snow leopards are more hype than the tahr too imo🤷♂️
I believe he said they had different horns. He just did the same horns on all of them
Really?? I didn't catch that. Strange to show all the fur variations and only one horn variation..
@@KCPlanetGaming Jaxy said he wants us to figure out some thing's and him not spoil everything. Yes it weird to show the fur types but not the horns. They did with the Fallow.
I Think that a diamond is probably the same Size as these great ones. Why jaxy wouldnt show one. And im happy im not gonna feel that im missing out not grinding for these!. I am gonna Hunt Them for a diamond though!
I dont like this one very much and probably wont grind them unless maybe they get backfilled to te awaroa, but sundarpatan should make up for the disappointment
so uhm what the fluff we asked for so many different things to be the next GO and they give us a dang goat yeah I'd rather grind for a SR tiger
When did he say that they couldn’t be initial spawns?
During the stream, he hinted at the fact that GO's not being able to be initial spawns won't be changing.
I think he's just kinda assuming that they cant be initial spawns. EW would have mentioned something about it if they could be. It's unfortunate but what can we do!
When did they make it to where GOs can’t be initial spawns, my Go red deer was an initial spawn
They’re nice but i will never get a great one.i do not believe in grinding.i refuse to grind, and its a same they pander to the shooting gallery grinder winners
Pc modders will have them all spawned in day one. We have been on the same firewall for almost 10 years. Fix the game.
They dont do initial spawn great ones anymore cause people create alt accounts and just run the spawns then hit new game and will keep doing it till they find a great one. that is why EW took initial spawns out of the game.
That is quite the assumption lol, and not the least bit true. If that was the case, they would do that for the rares too, as many of the rare variations in the game have a similar spawn rate to the Great Ones. By that logic, you're saying that EW wants the GO's to occur less.. If that was the case they would have done something about the HM problem, correct?
You can still do that with all other species though, so it doesn't really make any sense to me.
@@KCPlanetGaming Then what is the reasoning for not having initial spawns of great ones, there has to be a reason then. If EW was worried about herd management they would have done something about it 4 updates ago. I think it is obvious they want the great ones to show up less with not having drink zones. I mean look at the map there isnt alot of water in the top, if they did have drink zones it would be like fallow on te awora and there would be a great one ever 200 kills like it is now. They obviously wanted them to be less.
It changed with an update and was never acknowledged by EW as far as a "reason" goes. It literally just broke, like many things do with each update.
Such a lame Great one
I gotta disagree with you, I really like species like this and it’s nice to see a variety in great ones especially since there's no drink zones
I feel like the new great one is something you’ll either hate or love, and while I’m personally not too impressed by it, I’m glad that the people working on cotw are willing to take these risks to give us more diverse and creative animals.
it’s also kind of silly for people to say this is the worst GO just because they don’t like the design or wouldn’t want it in their lodge. plenty of the most beloved GO’s are animals I’d never want in my lodge, that doesn’t mean they are terrible great ones, it just means that I have a preference.
either way, this means that the people working on cotw are willing to take more creative risks when designing GO’s, so even if I’m not infatuated with the tahr, i can be excited for the idea of one of my favorite DLC animals getting a GO in the near future.
and, great video as per usual!! I had always struggled with trying to grind animals, and until I found your account, I thought it was the only way to getting rares and cool animals. but after watching your vids, I quit all my grinds and started playing how I used to.
now I’m getting so many more good animals, because I’m exploring more instead of staying in the same areas and killing off the same animals everyday. so thanks for helping me out!
Agree, i think it also would be cool to add multiple GO's in one Update. would add more variety to CC's aswell and not everyone going for the same one. I would really love a mode to almost completely remove need zones, and if you shot an animal it would show on the harvest screen that you were playing that mode, would add more value to trophies IMO atleast.
