- Felt like it could use a bit of weight in the lower half, so here is me adding lead tape, a Hesacore grip, and Bodhi DryTack grip on top. Final weight was 246.5 grams or so.

Did the same, but wrapped it from the buttcap up and around the handle to adjust the balance more and then added 1G at the curves on both sides... she rips now.. plenty of power and good pop!
@@mrfofung very nice!!! I think it’s at a nice place for me, but maybe I’ll think about adding more weight the next time I need to replace my grip.
@@mrfofung nice. Sounds like a smart set up. Enjoy the paddle. I’m looking forward to my G2 arriving in the kinda near future.
Just got the TFG2. Weighted it 6gms up from the throat up the sides. Hearing end cap weighting helps. I'm gonna wait and play it this way for
a bit. I also like the "knock-off" Hesacore grips I got off TEMU, but the paddle weighs 8.68 now, so end cap weighting may be on hold.
@@kimleith1378 awesome, please let me know how the current setup plays when you get a chance! Would love to try it out when I get a TFG2 of my own.
Adding lead tape at the neck increases the power, but can anyone attest to what it does for the pop of the paddle, specifically counterattacking at the kitchen and resets?
With this paddle in particular, I think the most effect it had was on the sweet spot - the pop seemed more or less the same, in my opinion.
Nice vid. You should try out flik weights. Saves a lot of time trying to change the balance dealing without having to deal with lead or take off the handle
@@thehiddenfamily I’ve heard about them! Sadly I didn’t have enough time to order them in time for the tourney, but I’d be interested to give them a try sometime.
How did you do in the tournament?
@@gillsabji took gold in the men’s 4.0 30+ singles division, but I’m pretty sure I was the only one registered for the division. The World Pickleball Tour ended up needing to combine the 3.5 and 4.0 30+ and 40+ divisions to get enough games in.
For edge guard and the trufoam 3 do you use a 20mm edge guard?…
@@pjpj2639 I use this edge guard (and its varieties) for all my paddles:

Let me know how it went
I am debating if get this one or the 1
@@theedge508 I liked the setup! It felt much faster with the weight lower in the paddle, so hands battles felt really fluid and straightforward.
Took gold in the tourney, but that was because I was the only one in my division 😂
Awesome I’ll
Order the 3 will see .i am
Out of the county for now and can’t play till 20 February..can’t wait!!

@@theedge508I bought the 2. Will update as well
Incredible that a paddle with a 123 swing weight is slow at the kitchen….weird. If you bring down the sweet spot with low lead tape wont the fiberglass plated sweet spot move?
Yeah, I think it's just a function of me playing hybrids predominantly and this not being a traditional hybrid shape. I played with it in the tournament on this setup, and I think the sweet spot felt fine (even though that does seem a little unintuitive given what you observed)!
I ordered the G2 because the stock swing weigh is roughly 112. I can still add lead tape and have a reasonable weighted paddle at the kitchen.
@ I'm planning on getting one too for doubles play! I think it'll be an absolute monster in terms of consistency, which I think I definitely could use a bit of help with when I play doubles.
@@picklepractical that makes sense to me. I’m playing the ESQ-C 14mm from paddletek at present. I intuitively (not sure it’s correct) feel the G2 will be very similar but with better consistency off the face. I’m really enjoying the esq-c too. It’s lighter with a 103 stock swing weight but with lead I’m probably around 112. When I add lead to the G2 hoping it’s stays around 116-118 swing weight.
@ ahh, I wanted to try that paddle out for a while before I switched over to the TFG3 - I do think the TFG2 will have a similar face feel but with better consistency given that they're both standard shape paddles. I'd love to know how your paddle plays and compares to the ESQ-C! If you haven't used a code yet for your purchase, you can get 10% off (even retroactively, I believe) with my code PRACTICAL !
Who the heck weights their grip and not the paddle edges 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@shookumm9759 well, the paddle’s sweet spot was more or less fine for me - I just needed it to be a bit faster at the kitchen. The lead tape does go up to the 4 and 8 positions on the paddle as well, which gives it a bit more stability.
