Time of action - "stagnant" seventies. The heroes of the picture are students who still do not suspect that the country where they were born will soon disappear from the world map. In the meantime, yesterday's students study carelessly at the institute. The main characters are Sergei, Luda and their mutual friend Stepan. Sergey begins to touchingly care for the kind and gullible Luda, they have a beautiful romance. However, soon a new one appears on the course - a spectacular girl Katya. Sergei, taking advantage of the fact that Luda is sick, begins to flirt with her. Luda finds out about this and believes that such behavior is a betrayal. Stepan, secretly in love with Lyudmila, begins to help her with her studies, show signs of attention, and they increasingly spend time together.
