I got one of these from Sweetwater back in April. Green, just like yours. I kind of wanted sliver but they were out at the time, and at the end of the day I don't really give a shit. Sweetwater never posted my review. The good? It's a beautiful guitar, I love the pickups, and it plays nice. My fretwork doesn't sound like it's as good as yours, but it's still pretty good. The setup was fine out of the box but I lowered the action a little and it still rang clear with no buzzes. The ends just needed to be rounded a little more. They're not sharp or anything. The bad? I don't like the taper of the tone pot but that's a preference thing. The selector switch bit the dust right after the return window closed. Two tuners are wonky. They hold tune but just don't feel right. I'll eventually change the pot and replace the tuners. I've already replaced the switch. That stuff is no big deal considering it's different from anything else I have and I like it well enough to keep a long, long time.
Word Up!! I'm glad you're enjoying the Jet as I am, but I'll also say that mine hasn't been a perfect guitar either. I've struggled most with tuning stability with it. I've ever so slightly shaved the nut slots, and added some Music Nomad's tune-it lube to the nut and bridge. It helped, but a graph tech nut has been ordered. The tuning keys were a little loose, they are tightened up, but I may replace them sometime in the future. Fret work was ok, seems to play and have intonation ok. Controls seem a little on/off, no real modulation. Just as you said, I'll keep it...I played the snot out of it last night, but seem to need to tweek tuning every 2-3 songs. Mine is black, not green, that was probably the lighting in the room I was playing in. I'm not sure If the licensed Bigsby has anything to do with it all. @@tinkerbell4896 I haven't had tuning problems but I use the trem very, very lightly on this guitar. Maybe that's why they put really stiff springs in them...so we're not tempted to go crazy on the things. Even just a semitone dive will knock it out of tune but every guitar with a Bigsby is like that, at least in my experience, whether it's licensed or original. So I just use them for a little quiver.
@@JohnBrown-z2u Word on all that!! The little bit of tinkering that I did to get the tuning to be more stable did help. I think strings were just hanging up a little bit in the nut. But, as you just described, I could have been a bit aggressive with the Bigsby. Sometimes I just can't help myself, haha!! I played the Jet again last night a good bit, and it seemed better. I wasn't too crazy with the trem, but I do bend a lot on the fretboard, and it seemed stable. Again, great comments, and I hope to see more from you! Sending you awesome rockin' vibes!! Rock On!! 🧚🏻♂
