IKR?! This has been triggering my anxiety so hard! I'd say finally I can sleep peacefully tonight, but then I noticed something... The repeated banging against the phone and the charging port may cause mild internal damage over time or cause the solder to weaken, loosening the port and preventing it from connecting to the cable right. Now I don't know what to do anymore. Some stranger's throwaway bought-for-these-videos phone is getting mildly damaged and it seems like there's no way to prevent that. I've consulted with my therapist and he told me to just "get over it, why is this even an issue for you?" while making a big deal of looking genuinely confused. I won't be seeing *him* anymore, that's for sure. This is a genuine cry for help. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm thinking of raiding this guy's house and liberating that poor phone before anymore damage can be done. From what I can tell, there are trees out in front of his house so I should be able to locate this on google street view easily enough. [Edit: If someone can identify which hardware store the string was bought from, that would help!] Wish me luck...
I can assure you this does indeed damage the phone and charging cable. Its just very slow. Eve. Plugging in your charger regularly slowly breaks a charging cord
Fun fact, I actually snapped that piece at the end of the cable when it was plugged into my phone, this was totally on accident and it was fine after. Just a warning though, just because it looks fine doesn’t make it fine.

Plus making the phone thick doesn't surve much purpose, newer parts are all formed for thin phones so there's not much they could do with more space in the phone unless it's taller or wider Plus people like to keep their case clean and without scuffs, people don't usually buy thick cases for iPhones especially, they often get the thin rubber case with the circle on the back for faster wireless charging Personally I'm just more concerned with the functionality of the phone, all of my art and music is made on it, plus most places assume you have technology to take advantage of their bonuses so everything companies do to make things easier are usually done assuming you have decient phone Also a side note, you can get a Samsung A74 for less than half the price of the newest $1200 phone and all of the same specs, way better than the mainline phones of the same price
