Ok... The mid 2010's Crusaders had Dan Carter, Richie McCaw, Kieran Reid, Sam Whitelock and Owen Franks won everything domestically multiple times. Those same players then went on to dominate internationally too. Richie McCaw played 148 tests for New Zealand and only lost 15 games. That rounds up to a 90% win ratio at international level. Those were the kinds of players available to the Crusaders during that time. Leinster better? What are you talking about? Leinster doesn't have players like those teams had. @@ChristopherRensburg I'm not saying that Leinster are better and you make a good point but international ruby is much more hotly contested now than back then. The scary thing is Leinster are going to be even stronger next season. With bringing in RG Snyman, Jordie Barrett (for six months) and potentially Tight Head prop Taniela Tupou, Leinster's 23 is going to be nuts; 1 Andrew Porter, 2 Dan Sheehan, 3 Tadhg Furlong, 4 Joe McCarthy, 5 James Ryan, 6 Ryan Baird, 7 Will Connors, 8 Caelan Doris, 9 Jamison Gibson-Park, 10 Ross Byrne, 11 James Lowe, 12 Robbie Henshaw, 13 Garry Ringrose, 14 Jordie Barrett, 15 Hugo Keenan Subs: 16 Ronan Kelleher, 17 Cian Healy, 18 Taniela Tupou, 19 RG Snyman, 20 Jack Conan, 21 Luke McGrath, 22 Ciaran Frawley, 23 Josh Van Der Flier. SA will use it to give big game experience to some younger players. Ireland will bring the same squad as the six nations, no new caps. Then we'll wonder why we go out in the QF again in 2027😅

You are thinking of Bulls vs Northampton Saints (for whom Courtney Lawes plays, until the end of the season) rather than Bulls vs La Rochelle. Lawes is a great player (and person), but has sadly retired from England duty now. Also, confusingly, there are two concurrent European knockout competitions, the primary one for the top teams from the previous season's leagues is called the Champions Cup (SA sides Bulls and Stormers were in it, but both now out) and the secondary one for the teams below them is called the Challenge Cup (SA sides Sharks and Lions and Cheetahs were in it, with Sharks making the semi-finals where they will play French side Clermont on 4 May). As you say, there is a LOT of rugby on at the moment!!
That will be definitely a different game as La Rochelle has been struggling all season in all competitions between the injuries, some of their best players being their oldest players, a game plan that is quite stereotyped, a management of Alldritt with his break that didn’t pay off…
Maybe, I think they will have to make him quite the offer tho. Man already won a World Cup and a Lion's Series as a head coach. Bit of a downgrade to defence coach again under Farrell.
Passes per defensive action means nothing if those passes don't gain you yardage. You can pass the ball around all day but that doesn't put points on the board.
