Yall aint listening to the true meaning to this poem. Its not to belittle god, listen to the end and notice the praises to god. This poem is about the people within his church who read what they want to read and pick the bible verses that will best suit their agenda but forget how ultimately you have to love your neighbor no matter what because God is love.
I love going back and seeing different performances with the same poems because it's so interesting to see how they change their poems at the very slightest just to improve themselves. He did a nice job cleaning this up at Cupsi and I loved seeing how much more confident he was in his speech.
I love this perspective on religion. I live in the Bible Belt where religion controls everything you do. If religion was like this I would most definetly believe in it.

I'm a Cristian and like Elliot I think good is acceptance, he is love, and he doesn't care about your religion, skin color, culture, or sexuality, he simply just cares about YOU, he cares about how you feel, what makes you mad, what makes you sad, what makes angry, what makes you happy, he does not judge us on appearance, because when all is done and said, we shall be stripped of everything and only our souls and deeds will remain.
