I just bought this deck last night at my LGS just for the reanimator package it provodes. I'm torn between finally making my Sauron, Dark Lord deck with this one or upgrading the precon, but im very happy i picked it up.
Great batch of reprints here. I was initially just going to buy it for parts, but the more I look at it and after seeing some upgrade vids like this, I may just have to build yet another dimir deck! Dimir, Selesnya, Boros, and Mardu tend to be the only color combos I tend to have multiples of at any given time.

I went with Phenax as my commander and stripped most of the surveil for mill/reanimate and a couple more board wipes.

I like dimir so much the only deck i settled on for the colors it's straight up just a pile of cool dimir cards. Gonna get the precon with some store points and throw it in there to have a bigger reanimator subtheme, always fun times.
Also the grave titan bit took me out brother

Yeah, the detective noir aspect fist nicely with the Art Deco Capenna vibe. Not everyone is a fan of these more modern aesthetics, but I think they're fine.
It does. Almost feels like this was a pivot with Capenna not doing great, and lining it up next to Ravnica Remastered isn't a bad plan.
Though I love New Capenna, my boy Oskar is gonna love some of this tech.

My biggest problem so far with this deck has been that my graveyard doesn't consistently have the creatures I need in it. I love a lot of things about it otherwise.
Unmarked Grave, Buried alive, Entomb, Vile Entomber, Oriq Lore Mage, Corpse Connoissoir (Sp?) and Gravebreaker Lamia yeah.

Fun video! It's definitely a strange reanimator deck. I'm thinking the octopus would be more fun to play as a commander, but Mirko definitely has potential. It's disappointing that he doesn't surveil at all himself. Anyways, keep it up brother!
Yes. I think he would be more effective with some anthems/equipment (swords of X and Y) in a less budget environment.
@@bettercommander They both would require extensive build arounds to really make them special. Definitely getting pumped would help Mirko. But honestly I wish he got a +1/+1 whenever a card was put into your graveyard from your library instead of specifically surveiling. That could make him too busted with some cards that do that, but he would be able to reanimate serious threats more quickly
