"we wanted to do a band, so we did a band"
-Joe
me:now we have a pregnant band , then a baby band
That's all it takes sometimes
It’s funny how Patrick looks like the biggest nerd in the world looking at him but once he opens his mouth he sounds like a rock god
It’s so true omg 😂
before the fedora, there was the beanie.
And every other hat in existence because Stump can pull off a hat 😂
+rasberryisnotonfire trucker hat was first
I compare Patrick there to the present, and I'm like "where was his neck??"
No offence doe 😂😂
..... AN X mas present? :P
soaphan it kinda looks like a Jewish hat
I thought they were on a train when I saw the pic
Me too
Thats why I clicked on the video. I thought they were performing on the New York Subway or something. Sounds like a cool idea haha
BTS On Titan sameee
Same
Same and same
me:*sees andy in corner* nobody puts baby in the corner
jaws theme swimming YES FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT, still dunno why they chucked him in a glass cage tho
Mystic_Apollo it's for studio purposes so performances like these don't have the drums overpowering the rest of the mix
nice reference
Drink down the gin and keroseeeeeene
Love how Joe adds the accents to his part, nice touch on this live version.
s a m e 🔥🔥🔥
I love how joe just kinda plays whatever the fuck he wants and messes around with all the songs live
Patricks Irish comes out at 3:23 XD
Patrick's smile when he sings "Wishing to be the friction in your jeans"
Tsukine_Neko ikrr you can hear it
Funny story about that. My family and I were sitting up front and when he said that line, my children and I all did the "lick, lick salute" from the video and it made Patrick chuckle. I was also able to get up to the mic and ask a question about them covering a Bowie song. Wish I could find that segment.
@@MrHalloweenJackHJ holy shit that is actually hilarious lol
People don't talk about how incredibly talented Joe and Andy are enough. I mean, don't get me wrong, Patrick and Pete are super talented, and I know that. But no one ever talks about Joe and Andy. I feel like if you love a band you shouldn't pick favorites.
Man I always talk about joe. I love him to death. He's what made fall out boy. He is the heart of the band.
+Nutmeg the Incredible30120 Patrick has a special place in my heart as a solo artist, but everyone as part of FOB is just as important. Andy's kickass at drums and Joe's guitar riffs at live shows are great and showcases his influences/style.
Lizzy C I agree completely. I feel like they should all get equal praise and attention because they are all so talented.
+Nutmeg the Incredible30120 I guess you we're being sarcastic when you said "Pete is super talented"
David Barrera He's a good bassist.
Joe is such an underrated guitarist, his timing and his little improvs are perfect
I DEMAND THAT THEY RE-RECORD THIS SONG IN A STUDIO AND INCLUDE JOE'S LEAD IMPROVISATIONS
uuuuuuhgggggggggggg patricks vocals are to die for, sucks they are so underrated.
I love Joes improvisations you can tell he is a metalhead!
I came front the AOL session.. Pete I'm happy to hear that your bass is actually tuned :-)
I've heard the extra little 'soOoOoOng' part so much that when i listen to the actual studio version I'm always expecting it.
EVERYONE! Andy is in a glass case because drums tend to drown a lot of the guitars/bass/vocals out. The glass house thing is to contain the noise of the drums so patrick, pete, and joe's mics don't pick up the drums. Thus making more clarity in the recording. This is needed especially in a live broadcast. Don't worry andy's drums are mic'd. FALL OUT BOY FOREVER :D
Just in case you wanted to watch this again 😇🤣
I thought the glass house was made to throw stones out of!
I spent the last seconds of 2014 watching this it was worth it
They all look like they played D&D in their parents basement. They rock
Man, it's amazing how much better they sound (instrument wise) when they aren't jumping around the place lol. That being said, they were/are still awesome either way
Joe looks like he's from the bible or something but cooler
This is why fall out boy is Jesus they died and came back
Lily Cortès ouch
he reminds me Brad Delson from Linkin Park
@@plamanbutak2225 And I've become so numb
Pete was so enthusiastic
#saveandyfromtheglassboxagain
That was perfect, the most accurate performance of this song ive heard, if only Joe or Pete use those mics...
They are picks, incase they drop one :)
Joe used it once lol
I'm noticing more - more-so nowadays, post hiatus - how little Pete bothers to accurately play his songs live. The bass in this has none of the subletly's of the recording, the open A as the 8th note in the verse, the hammer-ons in the bridge...
Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes is the worst example. I saw that live back in '09, he played it nearly perfectly while strumming across the bridge, it was spectacular - and nowadays he just plays mess in the verse and bridge, no fills or anything. It's completely different to the recording, he just doesn't bother. Kindof disappointing as he inspired me to pick up learning bass in the first place.
@@kleinkaufman8940 I wish you could have seen him play before the hiatus. He was messy as hell, but he was able to do insane movements with his left hand muting strings and strumming across the neck, and making it look cool doing so. He used to do subtle up-slides on the ends of notes that could sound like sliding down... he's not the dumbass you think. The whole thing was done with a casual punk carelessness, which stood out against the endless ranks of boring insecure losers stood with one foot on the speaker, palm glued to the bridge etc that we had at the time. Not to mention, screaming isn't shouting. He was the vocalist in a metal band before Fall Out Boy.
Why would the 8th note being the open string have anything to do with palm muting? :L
@@kleinkaufman8940 "he just slides his hand without even strumming so there's no sound"
Between this and the palm muting comment, I'm convinced you don't actually play bass.
rip andy always trapped in those boxes ;)
Patricks perfection is just too much to handle honestly for real
The quality is great! and I think this is the greatest they've ever played this song
UGH I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
i love andys shirt!
Aww, I loved the part where Andy was smiling at 3:47. PATRICK! They're all just so right.
I love how this song is different every live performance
That was so perfect
fatty patty=skinny patty
HE IS HOT EITHER WAY
YES THANK YOU
i love that smile
watching this in 2019 is awesome
omg I love this sing
Playing guitar and singing that great is seriously impressive
look at Pete he's so lazy just sitting there the whole time smh
he was too emo to stand up (and sing hallelujah)
+percabethisawesome Eyyy
pete needs to learn to tune his fuckin bass
alexia richter tru>
WOW Petes Bass Guitar playing is AMAZING! He must have so much talent to play such a complex bass line. (Kidding) I truly love these fellas! MAKE ME MUSIC AGAIN!
still listening this song nov.17-2017
Sounds great
Joe is playing a John 5 signature Squire Telecaster and its not a suprise hes playing a squire because in his band The Damned Things With Andy he plays a squire telcaster with Dimarzio Pickups
It's so weird to see them play an electric set and not be jumping all over the place lol
Went with my daughter to go see them at Darien. They put on an epic performance, but I kind of wish she would have seen them when they were all jumpy and doing flips on stage.
Good luck I will miss you and Vance and Landon you were the best in my life and I will never forget you guys bye
where has this been my whole life
Patrick was so cute here😍
ANDY IS IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTION
That telecaster to die for!
I’m just throwing this out there, but Patrick and the kid from hot tub time machine look almost identical at this point in time.
2 days ago on a video from TEN YEARS AGO! isnt TH-cam awesome?!? 👊👊👊 cheers
it's great to see a famous band using a squier!!!!
Folie out Boy
I found it awesome that Joe and Pete played Squiers
@jjointer yeah but he had his tech replace the pickups and set it up (joe) and pete said in interviews his basses are actually fenders he just has them put squire in the headstock
Woww man, Patrick has changed A LOT! just.. wow..
3:10 this smile means "I usally move my hands to the audience when I sing this"
@spoonido yeah as long as it plays good and has good pickups im sure joe likes it, hes been plays HH tele's for years and that j5 tele does look sweet
1:24 for an ear-gasm and a lot of memories of the good days.
patricks silver high tops are iconic
How can you look that composed and calm while fucking jamming?
ahhhh joes guitar is beautiful :O
Patrick you fucking cutie pie uuuughhh
i heart you guys !! fall out boy !!!! yeah baby! (pete wentz= cutie and cutie and more cutie!!)heart you pete
god patrick has gorgeous eyes!
I love Pete's hair oh my word
thats why i clicked it, i was like oh acoustic subway version lol
ya no estaban tan alegres como antes
that's a good reason
Dude on the bass is real virtuoso
Because Squier is a good make who make great guitars. Some people just find a guitar they love and couldn't imagine playing anything else, they don't always have to be Fender or Gibson :)
I like Joe's intro a lot. I wish I could tab that out.
Joe playing a John 5 Squier tele. I've been debating buying one myself
Aww Pete, trying to play bass xD
It's THE reason.
Seeing Pete sit down to play feels wrooooong. However, Im sure the sound guys appreciate it given that he plays like a maniac when hes jumping around and performing.
I feel like that mic didn't really do Patrick's heavenly voice justice
But still love this
they played it in the bnd world tour here in the philippines :D
After their three year hiatus, Patrick got wayyyyy better.
Patrick's high-tops!!!:o WOW
They stuffed a wild Andy in a booth
I fucking love all of them😍 AND FUCKING PATRICK AND PETE GOD I FUCKING LOVE THEM
Joe sounds like Chris Griffin
Patrick looks very cute and chubby here ^^
@dpinkpoweranger just watch his hands, thats how i learned now i always play it the way he does in this video
@Pvanid I was thinking the same thing!
What a fucking bass
Patrick hits his pitches pretty well in the video.
Agreed,
Sometimes a band not playing well is due to crappy audio equipment..Awesome set here though.
Is that a Squier Telecaster? What model?
That Skywalker Ranch t shirt. Also why does Joe use a Squier too? Plz tell me
if your really looking for it its the j5 signature tele model by squier
How do u play Joe's improvisation in d chorus?
@RandomNumber56 i was thinking they were playing at a subway station
@bobertsrule they're kinda in a small radio station with a lot of wiring around them.
omg, pete
@santacruzforlife Pete always uses squires, all his signature basses are squires. Joe normally uses his signature Washburn but he also has a signature Squire Telecaster. However the squire tele he uses in this vid isn't his signature one. :S
He's older in this video but he sounds different in the album cuz he was real young and his voice was different but i gotta say i kinda agree
skip to 1:25 for the song guys!
Woah Patrick
@superspyko i think he's using a John 5 signature series telecaster.
First time seeing Joe and Pete not goin crazy in this era
"WE!!.".
