    I have two Bromptons one is 17 years old six speed and still running smoothly and is worth more than when it was new... Twice the price.... The other is a nickel titanium and is an absolute dream to ride... A Brompton is a bike that is adaptive to its requirement... It is fast to fold easy to carry... Easy to store and easy to travel with... The parts in my new bike would fit in my old one and vice versa... Built to last and holds there price.
    My granddaughter rides my old one and has since she was about 9 yrs old and it will fit her and someone over 6 ft tall.
    So in short... One bike for life... Not really overpriced when you think of it that way.

      I have a 27yrs old one and totally agree, except it's not designed for riding on big gravel /pepple streets etc. but it's easy to handle so you can walk these parts

      My Brompton is 40 -42 years old. It is definately worth more than the £350 1978 Sterling paid out at the time. It is heavy tho'

      Indeed, it’s a bike for life. So the price is fair.

    *Nice and easy to fold and unfold. I like the **Latest.Bike** of it components and so far it rides pretty well in pavement-ed trails*

    I bought a Brompton for 600 pounds 8 years ago. I would easily get the same price resale, as the same one is now 995 new. For comparison, I bought a Ford Cougar car at the same time for 3.5k and when it was written off by a stolen car, insurance paid me less than 20% of that. Bromptons hold their value.

    So Bike Friday didn’t even make the list? I think my Tikit tops all of those bikes. Fastest fold in the industry without changing any adjustments! It’s also a 24 speed bike!

    I like hummingbird electric folding bike ,Where you can buy this bike please if someone know give me some location in Canada

  • @kidShibuya
    @kidShibuya 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Most of these failed lol. Hummingbird failed to make 20inch versions, said its impossible and the 16inch bike is heavier than a 700cc full size roadbike. The allen X has been recalled and the Helix still isnt out, some think its a scam. Nice video.

    This must be old lol no vello bike or Ahooga! Carbon is another all CF folder that’s on indiegogo at the mo. I’ve got a Dahon dash,similar lock jaw folder & the fold is not the best -the crank arm gets jammed and scrapes lumps out of the frame,otherwise it’s a nice bike. The helios is just like a anorexic paratrooper lol nicer on the eye mind. If not for the tubes and trains I’d never of gotten on a folder but now they’re getting just as good as the big bikes :)

    Brompton use shite components and silly little wheels also a hassle to fold. Why they haven’t let the design team loose to evolve it into something modern is beyond me. I just got a vello bike which is exactly what Brompton should of done years ago now. It’s heavily influenced by Brompton & just snaps open & shut,magnets do the rest. Brommies are stuck in the 80’s...

    • @GeoffreyCapes
      @GeoffreyCapes 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They definitely rely on their heritage to sell the bike, I would have to disagree with the silly little wheels comment as for getting around in town, traffic light to traffic light you can accelerate much quicker than those clunky big wheels. The lycra crew are constantly being caught off guard by the small wheel bandits 😂👍

      + tim rezgalla Wow, so edgy.
      Bromptons aren't perfect, no bike is, but they're good bikes. That's why they continue to be successful, even without lots of advertising. Having small wheels is the whole point! They're supposed to be small and easy to bring with you on public transport. Vellos are good but more expensive and larger.

  • @oscarsantos2608

    Could buy lots of fuel with those prices...

    • @jamma246
      @jamma246 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They cost about the same as a bad used car. You then have to pay for petrol each time you use the car. You have to pay expensive insurance. You're damaging the environment. Using a car gives you less opportunities to get exercise. You can't always park exactly where you want, or bring with you on public transport,...

    bikes that cost as much as used cars.

    • @jamma246
      @jamma246 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And for some are way better than used cars: you don't need to put petrol in, cheaper insurance, can take you directly to and from your doorstep, will probably last longer than a used car, keep you fit,...

    I've been riding this bike for about a month th-cam.com/users/postUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and a half now and I think it's fantastic. It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.
