    I was spacing out and forgot what type of channel I was on and then suddenly I heard, "Finally started to beat my dad thanks to you", and I'm like excuse me what?

    Eric would love to see a stream where you go into the morra line with Esserman. That would be epic!

      I don't play the Sicilian but if I did, I wouldn't play it against Marc either. The guy has beaten Super GMs with the Morra

    13:48 why didnt you take on c2 ? Pawn fork after that pinning the queen to the two pawns

    clearly esserman is the better player, he saw the draw in move 10

  • @RulezAPower
    @RulezAPower 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sorry to say this Rosen, but what's been happening? G5 here was sure win, the queen was totally out of any defensive role, and your win would be easy

    • @RulezAPower
      @RulezAPower 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, there was still a way to cover that up, but even so, white would have to, like, activate totally passive mode, and you would win the position easily.

    • @RulezAPower
      @RulezAPower 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      G5 followed by queen F5, then QxC2 would be beginning of the party.

    2:49 Why did he sack his knight for no apparent reason when he could have just moved it back to safety with the same effect and just be up a piece?

    • @filomontani8683
      @filomontani8683 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Who could have moved the knight back and be up a piece?

    • @davejackson2390
      @davejackson2390 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you move the knight back it does not work. White would just push his d pawn and not allow e takes d4.

    • @davejackson2390
      @davejackson2390 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      And if you play pawn captures d4 first the dark square bishop ist not protecting the pawn, so the fork does not work. But as he said, the knight sack is just a more fancy way to trade down. He could have just played pawn captures first and trade down this way

    Why is everyone bragging about having 1400 rating?

    • @12jswilson
      @12jswilson 5 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      I don't think they're bragging; just giving him an idea of what level they're at. You wouldn't necessarily give the same advice to both a 1000 beginner and a 2000 that are both looking to improve. In my experience, 1400s need to focus on not hanging their pieces and not walking into easy to spot tactics more than anything else.

    • @ym276
      @ym276 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@12jswilson You mean 1400 on lichess? 14oo elo players are actually pretty decent players

    • @12jswilson
      @12jswilson 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ym276 yes. 1400 on Lichess, not FIDE. At 1400 FIDE, I'd say they need to focus their calculations more on how to exploit the weaknesses in their opponent's position and simultaneously defend their own weaknesses.
