    Don't show favoritism when recording. You have be be in neutral territory to hear from a distance. ASU sounded bad, rushing, people don't know the music, missing notes because they don't know their limit. TSU is consistent their mixture of music reaches every age. This is one good example of a model band.

    Great job to both ASU & TSU. I have just one thing for the ASU band. Your drummers were a little overpowering, perhaps its because they were under that concrete ledge and it amplified their sound. Maybe they can come down a bit so the arrangements can be fully enjoyed. I'm an alumnus of a MEAC school( S.C. State ) and new to the area. I plan to come to as many ASU games as possible. Again, Thanks for the two great performances. HBCU for life.

    It's sad when people blindly support a band program to the point where one becomes musically oblivious to quality musicianship and advanced arrangements. It's perfectly clear to any objective listener that The Aristocrats are the more refined musical organization. When we, The Aristocrats, witness a superior competitor, we are always mature enough to fess up. Today is not one of those witnessing moments. ASU, it looks like you have the potential to perform at a higher quality level but you are in need of a few musical adjustments. First, work on upgrading your arrangements. Second, try enhancing your tone quality by playing for clarity instead of volume. Playing for shear unbalanced volume is an SU trademark. Let Southern carry that burden. And last but not least, practice for hours and hours on your music. This is what The Aristocrats do in order to stay competitive. If there is a secret for success, endless musical practice is the key. And in closing, just remember that "TSU DOES NOT BRAG NOR DO WE BOAST, WE SIMPLY PERFORM" . This message has been approved by Mr.Kim Clark, French Horn 1980.

      Hey Aristocrat, although you sound like a hater you are partly right. ASU do have the potential to be BORING but they choose to entertain the crowd. They aren't sacrificing musicality nor quality to do that though. Yes, there's always room for improvement but that's with any and every band that you come across. Every band, no matter how long you practice, will ALWAYS have room for improvement. That's including your beloved TSU Aristocrat band. They are far from perfect themselves.
      It's not sad that Alabama State fans and/or Southern fans support their bands because although they aren't perfect there's something their fans love about those bands. I'm a fan of both bands so I get it. It almost sounds like jealousy that you'd say that to be honest. ASU did have intonation issues in Partition and Portuguese Lover but they shall be fixed by Saturday. As far as arrangements TSU is no match for ASU or any band in the SWAC in my opinion. God bless.

      @mybro727……You are so wrong in so many ways……Tennessee State sounds light years better than alabama state on any given day, on any given time, and you know it…..Tennessee State came to Montgomery and ran a musical clinic on poor alabama state….All alabama state has under their belt is just playing every single piece of music loud…..Better yet LOUD and WRONG. Does alabama state even tune their horns before playing because the over all sound of the band had severe intonation problems, blending was horrible, overblowing and blasting on select tunes were a disgrace…..…PRIDE is one thing but stupidity is another, and you sound straight stupid to say that TSU can't get with asu……Y'all need to enroll in TSU band camp so that we can teach asu how to really play, blend, and sound like an overall balanced group of musicians….With asu playing everything triple forte (LOUD) does not constitute a win……TRUST…….

      LOL......Far from a hater, just stating the facts.....I invite you to go to 5th quarter.com and read the countless accounts of people saying TSU served asu a L during halftime, during the stands, and ESPECIALLY DURING THE 5th quarter......ROTFL.....the 5th quarter wasn't even close......You see asu is a lower tier swac school., but i must admit their sound has improved over the years, but still can't even come close to the mature sound of Tenn State. I'll be a hater, you just HATE hearing the facts......You have a good day sir......

    • @mybro727
      @mybro727 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL. While you base facts off what others opinions might be on some website I'll consider a fact to be a real "fact". Nothing you mentioned above is a "fact". All just opinions and majority are from people that are affiliated with TSU and/or JSU. Lol. Let Tsu continue to sound "mature". Who has the reality show though? I thought so. Take the losing team, boring band, and burdens back with y'all to Tennessee. Get over it! Better luck next time Tiger! I will have a good day. God bless.

    If i had to choose between a winner based off sound as in quality, I would have to go with TSU. Ppl with no background in music will understand it. Being Loud dont classify you as good.....Being able to be loud and still have that quality of sound is Good.......I wouldnt say that TSU sounded good on everything but they most def was the more quality all round band..... I am neither a TSU or ASU fan....

      LMAO. I know exactly where you're from cause you're salty about "Partition". Must be a JSU fan... lol. Sorry, but JSU better not play Partition at the ASU game! Thier arrangement is hella better in my opinion. No need to be upset child.

    Too much hate on one page! I am a fan of both bands and what y'all are writing is disgraceful in it's own right!
    Tbh, this isn't the best recording of either band and I know that both of these programs are more than capable of displaying musical excellence.
    Just chill and enjoy.....

    For the individaul that insisted that the Boom dnt play Partition. I can tell you are a die hard fan of ASU but have a nice tuba line is not having a better band........ASU is loud but they have poor quality. Need I remind of u of the ass whopping The Boom put on ASU in quality alone not even to mention in the crankness...lol Sometimes we have to give credit where credit is due......ASU is loud but they need to focus on their quality....

    Your Stadium is made for powerful cranking bands and TNSU is not one of them so they do sound boring but they are playing correct chords too, Alabama State sounds better because they are full but on other songs and if this game was at another stadium TNSU would not be having these issues LOL nothing wrong with yall stadium just not for woodwind bands LOL

    • @greenhornet8262
      @greenhornet8262 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tsu isn't a woodwind band. Unlike all swac bands they do believe each instrument is important not just brass .
