It's important to note that you keep the queen at a knight's distance from the opponent's king. Then you just copy every move the king does(eg. the king moves up, you also move your queen up one square) and eventually you'll trap him in a single file.
Yes, this tip is so much easier to remember than “shrink the enclosure”. You get your queen at a knight’s distance, then copy the king’s moves until the king’s in that 2 square box, then checkmate.
@@theonlyjoe_ but he's not elaborating it that way, rather he just says that you need to keep shrinking the enclosure. A beginner might have a hard time trying to do that so it's easier to explain the method on how it's done, i.e., keep the queen at a knight's distance.
Knight opposition with queen and copy then that shuts them on the side of the board then move the king down and then do any basic queen checkmate, it's quicker and easier.
Im now searching for the most difficult technique that works to teach queen and king mate so the students will feel like geniuses when they "invent" a better way to checkmate and therefore remember it way better.
You can do this with a rook too, another queen checkmate would be to get your queen a horse move away from ur opponents king and copy his moves till he’s in a corner then bring ur king, careful not to stalemate though
the easiest way is to use the knight opposition method. place your queen in a square that, if it was a knight, would've been a check. now, your queen and opponent's king should be separated in an L shape (just like how a knight moves) once you've done that, simply copy ANY move your opponent's king makes EXCEPT the last move. make sure to leave TWO squares for the opponent's king to move to prevent stalemate. Lastly, simply march your king and deliver checkmate ;)
@@adios8919 knight opposition is what’s shown here. It’s just sped up so it’s not showing every move and instead showing why you do knight opposition (to cut the king off)
Basically, Check the king like you would with a knight, (L shape) except instead of a knight its a queen, then just keep doing it until kings forced to move a rank. Until the back rank where you move your king to mate.
For us less intelligent folks it can also just be done like a rook checkmate, just mirror their moves with your king and when you have opposition check them, then repeat
you can also use the queen moving with knight distance and to stop that when opp. king reaches corner square. Bring the king into play and checkmate. it's easier to follow.
Rook might be easier but queen is the most annoying thing ever I swear I always get stalemate on accident rook. I'd say that in endgame rook is probaply better because there will hardly be be a stalemate.
A lot easier version is the put the queen in a rook position in which it would be a check and then you copy each move untill there left with two squares and then you bring the king in
I've been stalemating too many times with this lead 😭😭😭😭
Use the rook checkmate method for the queen it works like a charm
Fr me too 😭😭😭
i got lazy watching and finishing the video so i moved my king and i stalemated😭😭😭😭😭
@@enzowong6045you can just use the rook checkmate method to prevent most stalemates except 1 be careful of that
@@enzowong6045 I stalemated while watching this video lol
Am I the only one who quickly searched up this video to checkmate while struggling to mate with only a king and a queen?
+1
You're the most wholesome dude ever. Along with that, you're super talented. I see you doing great things man, you have my support.
thank you so much for perhaps the nicest comment I've seen in a long time - so so kind you are ❤️
@@thechessnerd For how long have you been playing chess?
my friends just play chess for fun and they are rated same so idk about talented lol
I just stalemated a winable game and went straight to TH-cam for tutorial
Glad to hear I'm not alone in getting stalemate here
Imagine not knowing chess and hearing
"How to mate with king and queen"💀

If you want to avoid stale mate use your queen like rook
The worst thing when you very close to win but the other fucking king can't stop for 0.4 second
I'm not a low rated player. But many times I need to end the game only with premuves. And this is very helpful.
Always remember to leave one square open. A safer method would be to use the rules on a rook endgame. Same results.

Bro I always find way to stalemate here especially on bullet during those last 5 seconds
Show us knight and bishop checkmate
SECOND🎉😢
I have :) scroll down my page (can’t really say “scroll down my shorts” there 😂)
@@thechessnerd obviously... I'll die scrolling your shorts 💀 By the way, Big fan 🙌 keep grinding
even if i practiced for a month i would probably draw that lmao

it's actually just like the box mate with the rook

Bro u can make it like checking him with a knhight and trap him in the corner its much easier
Had to search this in game lmao
Me who does the rook checkmate cuz I’m not bothered to learn more checkmates: 🗿
Doing it this way is much harder than just doing the king rook endgame. Plus there is a chance of stalemating this way
Yea but it never goes like that we always end up with that slippery king that takes the other square you are avoiding lol
Just set it up and practice against the computer.

this is similar with the rook mate
You seem like a really nice guy
I wish i watched this before playing :/
I wished I knew this ;-;
I'll stick with my Knight opposition thank you.
They’re both the same
@@theonlyjoe_ knight opposition is easier, although slower.
@@silasnebulous4533 they’re the same idea. He literally plays knight opposition in the video
Do with rook and kint
I think this is very easy to stale mate. Why don't you just do the king and rook mate with the queen?
The easier way is to do it the Roooooooook checkmate
....... Ka7
Qb4 was better right so the Black King wont get out of back rank.... Is it right Bro??
black king be like : I sacrificed myself for white queen
Make the queen a night
Slide the Queen and bait it
Bro if you're in any position with the king it's easy to win
I use the knight position
It’s the exact same idea, just this one is a bit faster
Very e
Just play it as a rook
Black king to d 4
Caption sus
Bro used HayDay for editing💀😭
And if its a pawn endgame welll....
*Just watch the chess nerd*
I am 1900 why am I Watching this😅
its a draw so what is the point for all of that
thaaatss craaazyyy

I don't think you have to make an enclosure at g5 and I think c2
editing on this one was very nice, lots of graphics and keeping the retention high
Thank you, took me a while ❤️
Hayday!!!
On the other hand, I thought the graphics looked silly and childish

Basically you kinda-sorta-check the enemy king with the queen in a knight-like pattern
I just mate like I do with a rook, it’s simpler for me idk why

This is the opening, right?
did you just... take the hay day's pigs enclosure??

Queen to c7.
Just use knight oposition

is there any way black can prevent this at the starting point of the video?
I can somewhat do it fast but maybe not exactly in the way you're doing it
make a vid on how to mate with rook and king since most of them doesnt know how to (im 1600 ik but still make one)
"How to Mate with Queen and King" nahh dude that sounds so weird.
Me watching this after stalemate:
I got the checkmate !!! Thank you
I just do the back rank rook method, can't mess up.
Make one for knight and bishop
If you take it to another context, just no.
And... Here here here... stalemate
Kd4
I prefer knight opposition

Thank you 😊
Copycat also works but ok

Box checkmate nice
D2 automatic check
