Kingdom Come is like one of their most incredible velvet B-sides and a lot of reveluvs recommend it to reactors the most. I'll be looking forward to you reacting to the full version of that one too!
@@SylverReacts The Perfect Red Velvet (The 2nd Album Repackage) has Peekaboo, Bad Boy, Kingdom Come, & Time to Love (all of which were included in this Killing Voice) - and they could have added 2-3 more from that album.....
I think your thoughts are pretty spot on. Irene and Yeri are the quite understated components of RV - they fill in / anchor the harmonies, especially when the vocal line adlibs, you can hear the two being the straight singers. I like you can hear Irene's voice nicely here in You Better Know and newly in Chill Kill where she has more parts than she usually does. Been loving your discovery of Red Velvet. I hope you keep finding new additions to your playlists. Keep it up and thanks!
They are really enjoying singing live, they know they gonna killed it. Their powerful live vocals, harmony and adlibs are truly shining here as one of the best vocalist group of the 3rd generation out there. And yes, RV & Mamamoo is just best vocalist. Fun facts, Solar and Wendy shares the same birthday date lol.
40min feels so short. The slight feeling of liveness really complete and enhence the experience. They started their journey with distinctive Red or Velvet songs then after The Velvet album. They focused mixing Red and Velvet with various degrees and ways. Songs like Oh Boy or Look can be Red and Velvet at the same time. Peekaboo is nice smooth blend meanwhile Chill Kill is clashing abrupt mix. I will say Ice Cream Cake album is warm-ups, amazing songs are wditing. ❤
In order to make your life easier, do what I do: You have 5 biases and 5 breakers. I mean, each of them has their powers vocally, and they all complement each other as well.
26:56 this is actually Wendy who is singing😅 Seulgi just jamming along! They aren’t my ult group they are JUST my group. No other group/soloist in K-pop come close for me💯💯💯
What's crazy is that there are so many good gems they used in this Killing Voice, yet there are still dozens and dozens of fan favorites they didn't cover here, which goes to show just how insanely good their discography is. I think they only played like 3 out of 39 songs from after their hiatus (post-Psycho in 2019) and they were all title tracks, and even from their earlier work they had a couple of albums they didn't play any song from at all. So the Killing Voice is a great taste tester/appetizer and you have A LOT of great music to look forward to still that wasn't spoiled here. Looking forward to it as always!
That's wild, I think it's awesome that I got to get a bit of a taste of their discography, and it excites me to know that there's a lot more to discover!
Velvet bias is a thing. I’m right there with you, 😅 The whole Chill Kill album leans velvet, so it might not be a bad idea to react to it next. It’s an easy statement to make, but when you said: “which song will I be waiting for” I guessed “Kingdom Come”. Their vocals on that track are breathtaking.
We're going in order so "The Red" is next, but I'm super looking forward to Chill Kill! I actually preordered it when we finished the first look tournament because I was looking forward to the deep dive so much, excited to finally get a chance to listen to it!
If Wendy was not so Down-To-Earth and a real sweet-hearted Introvert, this group could have become one of those 'Main Vocalist And Their Friends' kind of groups. She really has the ability to pop off without warning, less-than-the-drop-of-a-hat. Thankfully she really is very lovely and sweet and loves her members. She wants them each to succeed and shine, so she does not eclipse their vocal abilities like she COULD if she felt like it.
I remember Yeri talking about when Wendy arrived at SM. Yeri had already been a trainee there 3 years by that point. "All the other trainees were really catty and super-competetive with each other, but nobody *ever* said a bad word about Wendy."
@@riffgroove Ah, yes! Tae's voice kidnapped me and dragged me all the way down the K-Pop Rabbit hole in 2015. I will always be grateful to her for that. She absolutely has my love and respect.
Joy's voice is VERY popular in Korea. She's affectionately known as "The Tone-fairy." She's released well over a dozen OSTs and all of them end up charting well.
@@SylverReacts dude ofc I know she is insane popular and people love her voice but I am talking about appreciation vocalist joy …. Her vocal abilities are underrated
People are being generous with the heights of the girls. Other than Joy. So Joy is 5'6", Seulgi is 5'3", Yeri and Irene are around 5'2" and Wendy is like 5'1.5". Google says otherwise but Korean fans know their real heights and this is what they say knowing them more personally than intl fans do.
@SylverReacts I'm excited to hear what the style of it will be. With a title of "I Wish You Hell," I'm not expecting an album full of smooth jazz and piano ballads that "Like Water" was.
Wendy is just unfair. She is crazy good. But the fact Seulgi is the main dancer and she can sing LIKE THAT always gets me. My bias is Irene, but Seulgi is pretty close tbh. Im not even sure how many time passed since i found them, but im sill impressed with her.
I would like to share with you Red Velvet timeline songs: 1. Happiness 2014 (debut) 2. Be natural (2014) 3. Ice cream cake (2015) 4. Automatic (2015) 5. Dumb dumb (2015) 6. Have you ever noticed? Sometimes they even reverse their positions. The vocal and rap positions play opposite roles. Because they are all amazing all-rounders. Seulgi sings well, right? She's in a dance position. She is the best dancer of the 3rd generation. The all-rounder with the highest average is Irene. She is even the most beautiful woman of the 3rd generation. Wendy knows without saying anything, right? The strongest vocalist of the 3rd generation.
According to K Pop Profiles: Joy is 167cm tall (which is basically 5ft, 5-and-3-quarters inches. She's a quarter-inch taller than I am. But they call her 5ft, 6in). Irene is 158cm tall (5ft, 2in). Seulgi is 161cm tall (5ft, 3in). Wendy is 159cm (they call it 5ft, 3in but it's not actually at the 3 inches; 5ft, 2.598in). Yeri is 158cm.
They were prepared to go over 40 minutes with a few more songs😂. We need Red Velvet Killing Voice Part 2, 3, 4, 5, 6………
I'd take as many as they'd give me!
