LOVE Vanessa Williams!! So glad she showed everyone that her talent and beauty didn't need that Miss America crown she had to give back. She's AMAZING!!!
Have you never heard Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas? You never heard Save The Best For Last? All Vanessa. She’s an icon. Miss America. Star on Broadway. Tv. Movies. And some of the biggest hits of the 90’s. Multiple Grammy nominations. She’s done it all. She’s drop dead gorgeous and master of the big 3: acting, singing and dancing. A true star
I'm sad you guys don't really know who Vanessa Williams is. Yep, as others have stated she was the first black Miss America. And then what they did to her afterwards most likely ended up hurting the pageant in the end than it did her. She can be argued the most successful Miss America winners ever.
Vanessa is a 14 time Grammy Nominated Singer 5 of which were for "Save the Best for Last" A travesty she took home nothing that year but gave a beautiful live performance that night while 8 months preggers.
Oh god. Do your self a service and look her up. She was the first back miss America and got dethroned when nude pictures of her were leaked and published.
Yes these boys are a disgrace to all thangs Ms.Williams..Anyway Unauthorized nude pictures leaked prior to becoming the 1st black Ms. America, she was 19 when they were taken btw.
OMG, I forgot all about this jam. Vanessa Williams was the very first Miss America that got her crown taken away because she had posed for Playboy before running for the title. Funny enough, she’s the most successful Miss America to date.
She's done so much tv (Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty) and films. She did this movie, about Latin ballroom dancing with Puerto Rican hotty Chayenne, Dance With Me. Here's some other hits, Save The Best For Last & Colors of the Wind (Disney, Pocahontas story)
@@bluedragon4 -- They're young and ignorant to all the amazing icons that existed before Lady GaGa and Ariana Grande. There needs to be a curriculum so young gays can learn all about Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and the many other icons that paved the way for many of todays female artists.
Janet Jackson When I think of you, Come back to me, Pleasure Principle, Alright, Escapade, Rhythm Nation,Nasty Boys, What have you done for me lately. These all have big production values.
She's mostly known as an actress and somewhat of a personality now, but she was he first black Miss America. Her biggest song is "Save the Best for Last."
Janet Jackson "You Want This" or "If" or "Pleasure Principle" or "All For You" or "Go Deep" or "Rhythm Nation". Just anything Janet really. Suggestions, she should be the next step dive.
Actually, Carole Gist (1990) - The former Miss Michigan was the first Black woman to be crowned Miss USA in the pageant's history. Kenya was crowned Miss USA 1993. 🤓👍
I’m glad you did this video! Love Vanessa Williams! Still want you to do Bad Girl by Madonna. Janet Jackson would be fun too. Also all the Drag Race girls songs as well!
Take a few minutes a google her. She is by far the most successful Miss America winner in spite of her scandal that surfaced. And the pageant apologized to her years later publicly
Seeing this video and having happy flashbacks.....then realizing this video is over 20+ years ago and this came out when I was a sophomore in HS.....now I'm ugly crying..... happy birthday to me
These boys are getting an education here in these comments. Like the rest of you I love me some Vanessa Williams. Watched her win the crown and cried tears of joy. So many pageant girls of color owe her a debt. I'm talking to you Kenya Moore.
Yea, I was surprised too. After rolling stone suggested this cd this morning on their website. I agree with the guys, this is way before our time. I didn't know she a singer. I knew her as an action star. It was really good.
She was crowned the 1984 Miss America but they took back her crown when they found out she posed nude and Playboy published the photos after she was crowned Miss America. But it's their loss because she is gorgeous regardless of the Miss America title and crown.
ok im a little late too this but you should react to Vanessa Williams "Work To Do" oh and look for the ribbon on her outfit, and of course Colors of The Wind
She Is the most famous Mrs. America aside from a 14 time Grammy Nominated singer..Acclaimed Broadway Superstar nom x2 for the Tony with the likes of Sondheim and he ONLY fuxs with the best. Some real "edumacation" is shol in order folks😂😂😂😂😳
Loved the reaction guys! She became well-known as a singer after she was Miss America and before her acting stints. Her '90's ballads were her most successful but if you're looking for a pure '80's song, "Right Stuff" by Vanessa is like taking a time capsule!
I like The Right Stuff as well. Work To Do is also good. Her ballads are her best IMO. And her holiday songs are beautiful if you haven't listened to them.
@@dlw1221 I’m referring to the Billboard Hot 100. The biggest chart. “Save the Best for Last” hit #1 there and it was nominated for Song of the Year at the GRAMMYs

Just do all of Janet Jackson
Back then it was all about her and Pebbles, and of course Paula Abdul was one of the biggest pop stars in the nation at that time.
This song was never as big as it should have been and yes, it is a BOP! Not drag queens (I don't think), just the 90s.
She's mostly known as an actress and somewhat of a personality now, but she was he first black Miss America. Her biggest song is "Save the Best for Last."
I figured you would have known who she was from.....“My name is Alyssa Edwards.....Im know as the Vanessa Williams of drag”
