Ally! I live in Salt Lake City so it’s so fun to see you here 🥲 fun fact: sooo many DCOMs have been filmed here, not just hsm! We also claim The Luck of The Irish, some Halloweentowns, Go Figure, Pixel Perfect, etc… the whole city is just a big DCOM set!
I’ve actually been here before for one of my sisters basketball games. It was so cool watching her play on the same court as Zac Efron!

I grew up about 45 min from there. We actually got a guided tour while they were in the process of filming the third movie. One of my favorite memories honestly.
I went to East High for my freshman year of Highschool. There are some cool moments I have learned from teachers or students who were there during its filming but there are some sad realities. The biggest crime is people vandilize sharpays locker so bad every year to the point they repaint it EVERY SUMMER. The iconic lunch room steps although some of my favorite musical numbers, all I can think about is upper classmen throwing food down on the lower levels when I went there haha. They are the Leopards not the wildcats as you said. For the movie they also completely redid the boys locker room as they obviously filmed in there but the girls was untouched :( My gym teacher's office is the one they used for coach boltons office and while they were filming he would move things on the desk so they are different in some scenes! They also used a different theatre for the auditorium scenes.

Never noticed the vandalism on sharpays locker tho. Im a big part of both the theatre and the music department at east and its super fun to go to. It can be annoying having tourists at our school (not in a bad way but you know what i mean). if you want to ask me any questions let me know ill be happy to answer them

my friend yelled at one of the stars of the tv show once for being backstage during les miserables
one thing is tourists all the time making it hard to be at the school after hours to do practices and stuff

It's so uplifting to see you genuinely just having the best time and embracing your love and knowledge of pop culture (in this case high school musical specifically). Your personality is so positive, infectious and inspiring and your videos always make me smile and brighten my day, even when at the minute I'm still struggling with health issues I've had for so long that it gets me down sometimes. But your videos are the perfect mood boosters and I love seeing all of your fan knowledge. I love that they're opening it for visitors but I kept thinking that this would probably be the size of at least 3 schools combined here in Germany. Our lockers were maybe a fourth of those and most students didn't even get one as there aren't remotely enough for everyone and you have to rent them for the school year.

I still own my high school musical books from All Access to The Stories from East High and somewhere i have a binder full of High School Musical posters
I loved this! I wonder how many students go to east high? My high school was pretty big, not as big as this, it had 2 floors and I think my senior class had like 350 students and maybe like 2000 over all the grades. It felt big because it was the biggest in the area
Update: East High also has about 2000 total students but their school looks so much bigger
Another update 😂 so I looked at pics of east high and my old school, east high is more compact with 3 floors, mine was mostly 1 floor with just a section being a second floor, mine was more sprawled out space wise. And yes the lockers were that tall 😂 but lockers were optional because there wasn’t enough time to get your things in the 5 minutes they give you between classes so not a lot of people used them.
my high school had 350 people in total lmao I can’t imagine being in a 350 grade 🤯

ALLY ALLY ALLY! I just notice something today about the 1989 TV album cover. In the work ‘version’ the s has a little snake head ( which the s in Taylor’s doesn’t have )and then it says ‘10n’. Is reputation TV getting announced on the 10 of November?
My old coworker went to highschool here in 2006 when they were filming! She said for people who weren't into it, it was obviously annoying to have a film crew at school and a boy had the pink lockers and did not like it

i am a sophmore at this school, never really thought it was that big big, but I've stayed after school lately to do some work and there is literally visitors nationwide one time there was this german woman, just seems crazy to think many people dream of being here. Its a pretty normal highschool incase anyone wonders what its like during school year
