99% of the press set up people are lost when they try and set up the leveler and Y'all are close , but no cigar. I was considered a Mythical God when it came to using a Leveler.
@@jacksonminnear5928 Little to no pinch roll pressure, 1st roller down to take the coil set out so the coil set is excessively up, there 2ond roller starts to bring it down and 3rd set finishes the leveling of the coil. Master this and you will be able to run coils from beginning to the end without any adjustments. If you do need to adjust you do it with the 1st roller.
@@jacksonminnear5928 I'm retired today. I would start a leveler set up by cutting a length of the coil to run thru the rollers to help get the results I wanted. It is important that the power rollers and feeder work at together at speeds that doesn't effect the leveler. Meaning a gentle transition coming out and going in. as not to influence the coil set coming into the Die. Takes practice but for repeatability this is what work for me. I was the Lead set up person for a very large Job Shop that made a verity of products. More than 150 work center which 1/3 of them were coil feed.
@@racinford1 Very interesting, sounds like a good job you had. When I next work on the coil straightener at work I will check these speeds. If I remember correct the pinch roller and the straightening rollers at work are driven by the same gear train. So they wouldn't become out of sync.
