I doubt that comes standard with the bike @josh20l Basically they say that it looks better than the old model, tank is 2liters less (so your leg angle is reduced), the seat is new and so is the tachimeter and its info. The engine is more enjoyable at low revs and friskier at high revs, it does use less fuel so it has the same total range as the old model. Suspension hasnt changed except from the factory regulation of the fork, chassis hasnt changed, wheels havent changed
@MfalmeVTold I used to care in the past yes. Then I matured and realised that I'm not buying a bike for others to look at, I'm buying it for me to ride and why should I care what others think? If anything the more rough and ready it looks the better.
@simon44 Yes, it's important - the first thought about every machine is how it looks. The second thing is that I just don't like ugly bikes, ugly cars and ugly women. I already have a V-Strom, it's the 1000 and to me it's one of the best looking machines out there, honestly. It looks great and sounds great. It may not be as well balanced as the 12GS, but it's more comfortable. In fact, the only change in the 650 is the way it looks, and it's still a road bike, so don't tell me you don't care.
The engine is better, the brakes are better suspension is better, 13 pounds lighter, overall will handle better. Yes I will have one for Christmas. I will put heated grips on it and ride everyday like I do already
@simon44 It has nothing to do with being mature or not. Would you buy a bike that you consider as ugly, only to show that you don't care what people say or think about it? What's the point? :) I understand what you're trying to say but it's a whole another story. It's not about what others think, in this case I was talking about myself - if I don't like the design, I won't buy it. If I don't like the engine - the same. Most people would also buy what they think is good-looking. Take care :)

Quite frankly I couldnt give a flying fuck what it looks like as long as it does the adventurous duty it was built for. I just hop they bring out a 700cc version of this bike though. The 650cc needed that extra bit of poke from the high end. A reduction in weight would be nice too.
It's just a good old V-Strom with an ugly face. Everyone expected a new V-Strom and what we get is just a face lifted DL 650. Such a disappointment. Screw you Suzuki! Don't even think about doing that to DL 1000!

Sounds like Italian to me. Does the GPSr mount come with it, or is that aftermarket?

Thank god they discontinued the dln1000 if they did make a 2012 dl1000 like this I would have traded in my dl100 k4 by now
