We're back with a new return to the basic (well mostly anyway) Project Zomboid, a new survivor comes to the table, a burger flipping connoisseur! We're kicking off the new series in Louisville, in a random house in the middle of a very heavily populated housing estate! For now, the power is still on, we have plenty of fresh water AND it's not -100 outside, things are looking good!
I don't really have a major plan for this character I just want him to live. To get comfortable in a rather big base, maybe set up a few checkpoints and just be a happy, absolute tank of a survivor, any luck he is the man for our very loose plan! I hope you enjoyed the beginning to this series and hopefully you stick around for the rest of it :)

I’m like the idea of a zomboid run without a starting challenge back to basics like you said it’s a refreshing experience
It’s my favourite way to play, just going back to simple times, handful of mods and just hard enough to make loot running exciting but cruisy enough to be able to build and farm and live a good survivor life!
I find it funny that a burger flipper is more useful in an apocalypse than a doctor.
Crazy how it probably would be when you take it into consideration, most well paid jobs would struggle like hell but your low paid grafters would probably be the survivors

I’m excited to see how far you can make it with such a strong start! Was kinda surprised you didn’t bother checking radios for the emergency broadcast channel though, given that they tend to appear at the worst possible moments…
I’m hoping he’s a trooper, ready for another year long run for sure! I was actually thinking about the broadcast radio yesterday it’s gonna start getting important very soon, that heli does tend to bite when you least expect it especially early on

Great series, but serious question, don't you get bored playing with such a high amount of loot everywhere? It feels you have a whole week of supplies per house, tools everywhere, weapons, containers... I play on insanely rare and even that feels too much for me. I start to get bored after a few (in-game) weeks because I have plenty of stuff and no reason to look for more, other than one random item that refuses to spawn, usually a needle :') but at least the first days are very fun and I have to scavenge a lot.
I don't mean to sound hostile or anything, I'm more like curious to know how you keep yourself invested into the game with those settings.
I honestly didn’t think they’d be as high as they are, think it’s set to rare. My past few runs have been pretty solid, stupidly rare loot and I kinda wanted a break from it, immediately regretted my loot settings :D sure is nice to have it a little easier though, especially later in the series trying to basically wipe out the whole of Louisville, certainly does help!
All good though man I didn’t take it with any hostility! I think just having a goal in mind helps keep it flowing, I won’t lie I haven’t even thought about the high loot levels since leaving my first base, Louisville throws enough curve balls at you :D

It’s hard to keep them interesting is the only trouble, I’d absolutely love to do one but being on the move constantly, not really basing just gets a bit samey after a while is the issue, motorbike would be cool

How do you get Fitness level 4 with those traits? I copy your starter traits and "burger flipper" profession and I start out with 2 fitness, not 4.
Oh no way really? I didn’t tweak anything, that is just how it was I’ve no idea, definitely didn’t have any points left over for a fit trait or something?
@@Vulrhund I still had 6 points left over. I could either remove 'Out of Shape' and start out with 4 fitness and 0 points left over.
But if I take out of shape, like you do. I am left with 6 points to spend. Though, I wouldnt know on what to spend the 6 points that would increase the fitness, that is left to choose if I pick the traits you took.
For me, i'll start without the out-of-shape one, since you didnt took another positive either :D so it equals out. But, like you mentioned indeed a bit weird about the differences. I dont understand it still.
Looking forward to this series. Sorry I just could not get into Floor is Lava. (Didn't care for the gimmick)
Yeah was a hell of a lot more tedious to record than I thought it would be, fun concept but damn hard work to make enjoyable! Glad you came back regardless!

Unfortunately not, they’re bringing out an update soon though with a huge crafting overhaul so fingers crossed they’ll be here soon!

They’re a lot more common when you start exploring everywhere straight off the bat, occasionally the loot gods just bless us with great things too, luck of the draw really!

Is it worth getting a steam deck just for this game cause im not sure
I’m not too sure how the steam deck plays it but I’d absolutely recommend any platform you can get to dive into it, it’s a great game! Would definitely have a google or look on Reddit to see how well it works though

I did way back in the day but it was before they were fleshed out and was just pretty painful to play with :D would love to give it another go though
I feel like it spawns too many, if you do play with ot, turn the extra npc spawns off and have just the main ones. It's hard to explain, took me a while to figure it out.

how to start 1week later❓🍔
You can take one of the preset apocalypse settings in sandbox and just edit the start date and how long it has been since the start of the outbreak, leave everything else on default and you should be good. Sandbox has a ton of ways to personalize the experience.
Exactly what Popi said, those sandbox options are unreal with the depth, worth taking a look for sure!
@@Popikarl1 I cant tell if im being particularly stupid. in 2k hours in the game i dont think ive seen a "Weeks since the apocalypse" setting,only "months since" in sandbox . Or did i missunderstand and he just started the apocalypse 1 week later then vanilla?
@@Dorastrickland1993 Maybe I'm the stupid one lol there should be a preset that is just called "one week later". I remember it existing before but they changed the presets a while back so I might be wrong. Maybe @Vulrhund can help here
At the top of time date tab, I think, is where you find start date. You can start on any day of the year, just plover it forward 7 days, bam week later.
