A two week bike trip and I only ate in a restaurant once that entire time. The rest of the time I ate minimally processed foods out of the grocery store. Wasting half a bag of stroop waffles is a pretty good record compared to all the food waste that happens at the restaurants that people eat at, the only difference is that the customer does not see it so does not feel responsible ... but they are.
For those disgusted that I am wasting food, remember this as you adjust your halo while cleaning off your plate. If you are obese you ARE wasting food because at 260lbs, your caloric requirement is twice what it would be if you were a healthy weight. You are eating enough food for two people.
One time I wanted cake real bad, but they didn't have just a slice, only a half cake. I ate half of it after dinner, and sealed it up and threw the other half in the trash. Then a few hours later I was digging in the trash... Now I dump the cake open into the trash.
I totally understand you- no matter how many cookies in a box or the size of a cake, or the amount of ice cream in the container- it's all a single serving to me and it's like a damn magnet. When it gets out of control, it goes outside in the garbage. You just can't bring it into the house. Every once in a while I think I'll control it, but it hasn't happened yet. and it's just the sweets!
I saw the toilet in the background and I was like, "oh yeah. I've had a few weight loss hacks that way too." "I just lost 4 pounds in 45 seconds on the super high fiber diet instant weight loss plan!"
You could find some homeless, hungry people on the streets and share the cookies with them. Not only would you be helping someone in need, but you'd also get in some extra cardio from the walking it takes to reach them.
"if you're obese, you're wasting food." Totally agree. A good friend of mine gave me similar advice a while back. She said "throw it in the trash or put it in your mouth, it's wasted either way." The moment you hit the calories you NEED for that meal, your mouth is now no better than a trash can. It's arguably a way worse option.
Thanks very much! Have always been told not to waste anything and clean my plate, show respect and appear the food we have. It’s why I’m obese. I will try this tip Scooby. Thank you.
Now that is a creative solution 😂 Usually I can stop myself and there were times I did not eat any sweets for months. The worst is when You eat something in front of the TV so what I do now is I just pull out a little bit of stuff from its bag (tortillas/nuts/etc.) and put it on a small plate. After its gone its gone and I do not eat the half/whole bag. No judgement here and You look great 😊

This is exactly how i deal with it. Every xmas / birthday i bin around 3kg of chocolate. Just see it as straight poison and hard work (given the effort needed to shed the calories if eaten) people need to stop seeing this sh*t as a treat
Willpower is a myth. It’s like holding your breath. You may be better or worse than the guy next to you but you cannot sustain it for very long no matter who you are. Show me a person with amazing “self-control” and I’ll show you someone with low cravings and likely low junk food stimuli. I bag up M&Ms in little zip lock bags and number them 1-3 and then I only eat them in that order and I can't eat more than the single bag prepared. Just curious , when losing weight, how does the body adjust to less hunger in general? How does that change? And how do you know the threshold . According to My BMI, I should be less the. 171lb at 5’11. But I’d have to eat real less and have no energy and would look jaunt. I’m currently 240lb, but appeared and felt best at 190-200lb. No im not super muscular either.
If you are hungry when you are cutting then you are doing something very wrong. You should be at a 25% deficit MAX, better is 15% OR 20%. The other thing is that you should be eating a lot of non-starchy vegetables because they can keep you feeling full all day long for hardly any calories.
I almost never buy those candy type of food. Icecream same. It happens, but very seldom. Reason; I will eat it all at once. If I buy two bags of potato chips, I will eat them both in one evening. So, not buying it is the way to go for me. Nothing is better than all for me.

it is just wasteful. it might not be the most nutritious food but someone else would kill to have it. I've learned a lot from you, what I've learned helped me be healthy and not be obese anymore over a decade ago but someone being obese or not doesn't change that this is just wasting food...but anyway. hope you had nice holidays. always impressed by your biking, 8 hours is insane! I'm going on a bike ride tomorrow but just 2 hours and a nice walk
Why the waste so wasteful and you etiquette of destroying food is shocking
How often do you drive alone? Isnt that even more wasteful and detrimental to the planet? How much could you cut CO2 emissions if you used a bike rather than driving everywhere?
Something to think about as you adjust your halo while cleaning off your plate. If you are obese you ARE wasting food because at 260lbs, your caloric requirement is twice what it would be if you were a healthy weight. You are eating enough food for two people.
@@scooby1961don’t waste food it’s that simple no excuses

Push aways also works, push away from the table, thanks for all your inspirational videos, stay healthy and strong for 2025 and Happy New Year
Sir, I'm disappointed. There are thousands of homeless people who are starving who really could of used that food to survive.....what happened to this world?
Maybe actually DO something constructive to solve the hunger problem rather than wasting your time with youtube comments like this. How do you propose transporting those stroop waffles to a country where people are starving? Maybe tackling that problem would be a better use of your time.
Broccoli is food. Chips Ahoy, not so much. It isn't wasteful to return things to their original source.
@scooby1961 this is a (poor attempt at a) joke scoob, you beautiful man
You’re not one of those people what do you mean those people 😡 Just messing with you lol 😆
