I'm so grateful that I found your channel. When I was younger, I had a pet cat I adored, but she was feral and I was young and naive and didn't know better, and I made the horrible decision to give her to a shelter. I like to think she got adopted out and my mom tells me she did, but there's no way for me to know now. I feel like I could've done more and to this day I regret it. Now, we're fostering new kittens and to make up for my past mistakes, as well as to make sure they have happy lives, I'm making sure to do plenty of research, ask tons of questions and talk to vets frequently. I couldn't have known to do any of this without you. You have no idea how much you've helped me. Thank you so much. To anyone who read all this, thank you and if you've made any mistakes similar to mine, don't blame yourself if you didn't know better. Learn from your mistakes and protect animals with the information you have now.
I can not overstate the usefuless of this stuff. I volunteer for a cat rescue and do a bit of rescue work on my own, and the susvial rate for kittens before using this stuff was about 75% which was pretty grim, but after I started using it, went up to nearly 95%.

We have a 4m kitten with "issues" related to gradually changing her to new food. I'm kicking myself for not thinking of probiotics for her, especially since she was on abx at 12w for inflamed intestines. Thank you for helping so many people prevent issues in the first place with their kittens. We'll start her on some today. I'm a little disappointed our vet didn't mention this when prescribing abx. A good reminder for pet guardians to research things.
I am fostering my first litter. They were eleven days old. Two of them got really sick. Apparently they came to us with Panleuk. Three of them made it through asymptomatic. Unfortunately the two who showed signs didn’t make it. They will be coming on Monday. The never showed any signs but they tested positive for the virus. I am so worried about them. It was a crappy first experience but I love them so much. ***The remaining three deteriorated quickly and passed. Really crappy first experience but we will try again
hello may I ask what milk you used? I have three orphaned kittens now who are 2 weeks old. I changed their milk since I could not find the same one I gave them since it is pit of stock. The you gest passed away this morning and the other two are having severe diarrhea. I dont know what to do I dont want them to die
I just picked up 4 bottle babies from HRA Wednesday and one of them has diarrhea . Have an appointment with vet in about 10 minutes! I’m sure he’ll probably be prescribed probiotics
@@KittenLady I once heard that all the probiotic stuff is nonsense unless given in an acid resistant capsule because the stomach acid will destroy all the bacteria before it gets to the intestines. I was wondering about that while watching the video, so could you say something about that please?😊
Solar Wind this is just my personal experience it I’ve found that bene bac powder clears up my kittens gi issues faster than any other treatment. So helpful for kitten diarrhea or constipation. So I don’t think an acid proof capsule is needed
I always keep this on hand and use it for all of my fosters. I recently took one kitten to the vet to have a cuterebra removed from her nose (ewww!) and the vet was advising me on the follow-up antibiotic and using a probiotic. I told her I’m good both on tiny doses of meds and the probiotic. She was kind of relieved to know that I had good experience with neonates already. It is interesting that the shelter vet probably has more neonate experience than most of the other vets in town and the foster parents have good skills as well.
Hannah, I would just like to say thank you. I found your channel about the beginning of July this year. Then a few days later a cat from our colony that lives next door had kittens! And one day i made a joke to my mom that we should steal one of them and hand raise it (obviously joking) then roughly about two weeks later. We found a screaming little three week old kitten in the grass. her mama had lost the other four kittens that were in the litter and she was the last one left. After my mom and I got to handle her and fall in love with her we realized her mama was not taking her back. We tried tried and we tried but nothing was working. So we have no other choice but to take her in. But thanks to you and your videos she got to turn 12 weeks old yesterday and we named her bun! She is a handful but she wouldn’t be here without your help. So thank you so much for everything that you do!

I watched this video yesterday morning, went on Amazon and had Bene-Bac Plus for my fosters by the afternoon. Two of the five kittens I'm fostering have some issues, one who's not growing well at all and another with a distended (but soft) belly and not gaining as much as he should. All have been dewormed with three different meds. They all got this gel and am hoping it helps.Thanks for the well timed, very important information. I ordered the powder for my older cat with IBS and she snarfed it down with her food this morning! Thank you SO much. My babies thank you too!!
i don’t know becuase I only have a cat for 1 month so far I started watching kitten lady 5 months before we got her she I two years old and idk if it’s ok for grounup cats.
Yess!! Probiotics are great for any age! Ask a vet to be certain of what u can use for him, but my 12 year old lady has probiotics in all of her meals as well. It actually increased her appetite and has completely fixed her bad irritable bowel. My other cat has inflammatory bowel disease so she relies on that as well and a few other meds to keep her regular. My vet is kind enough to at least answer most questions over the phone, if he can. So that's helpful too, its worth a shot just calling to see if its something that can be discussed over a call. Especially if that vet is already familiar with your cat.
I was JUST thinking that I wish you would share specific recommendations about probiotics and explain how to choose a good brand for cats! The science behind the importance of probiotics for foster kittens is so sound, but the brand we use most often for our fosters hasn't been very effective. Thank you, Hannah!
So here’s something I noticed through the years...so many of the tools, supplies, meds and treatments for kittens is the same for human babies...trust me, I have 4 kids and a grand baby, I know...sooooo maybe if folks would invest even a third as much time, love, research and supplies into saving animals as we do for humans, maybe just maybe we could make a difference....ps - probiotics are super great for humans too...really helps the immune system...

I was very concerned because my kitten had pale stool after being spayed. I was recommended a daily probiotic supplement and her stool was completely back to normal in TWO days. I’m now a believer and so thankful she didn’t have a more severe problem!

My kitten had her first bout of diarrhea yesterday and first thing I did was feed her a probiotic, and today she is fine. I did give her another package of probiotics just to be sure.
For the kittens I've fostered or have adopted for my own, they get mothers milk replacement and a probiotic for the first 8-10 weeks. Every other feeding, I'll mix in with the milk some baby rice cereal . The baby rice with milk, and probiotics lessens the lose stools. When I started fostering kittens, most of these supplements weren't commercially available, so you relied on information handed down by pet breeders, as they had the most experience. It's so satisfying watching the kittens sleeping on their backs all stretched out with a full tummy. They're in heaven, until the next feeding.

I have a 10 week kitten she has been active running playing up until yesterday when she started throwing up every time she eats, she tries to eat and I've given her even a bit of roast but throws it up. I just gave her a rhino shot and wonderful probiotics will help
Since I have two adult cats and a 10 week old kitten who is weaned I use the forti-flora probiotics for cats. I also use the L-Lysine powder to help with their amino acids as my oldest cat unfortunately had Feline Herpes.

Yesterday I rescued a smol bbu that was outside all alone after a storm. vet estimates he's about 3 weeks old. so far he's pretty healthy and the plan is to integrate him with the houses current cats. your videos have given me confidence and guidance on caring for my new surprise fur baby.

When my cat was a kitten,(6 months though)he had gut trouble with antibiotic he got for neutering.Probiotic worked!

Yesterday I rescued a smol bbu that was outside all alone after a storm. vet estimates he's about 3 weeks old. so far he's pretty healthy and the plan is to integrate him with the houses current cats. your videos have given me confidence and guidance on caring for my new surprise fur baby.
