  • The debate, on whether should be allowed to preach or lead churches, still rages on in our time. While it is very clear, that throughout history and even today, God has used women mightily as ministers and leaders in the church, many still oppose this based on scripture.
We looked at various angles of this conversation and an extensive conversation. Which side of the debate do you stand on?
    Let's talk about it...

Good discussion. Sis Dudus appeal to scripture on this issue is the proper stance. It be controversial, but the scripture is clear.

Sanibonani Ps. Ndu and Sis Dudu.. question: Corinthians, wasn't Paul silencing women from preaching because of what was happening AT THE TIME? I'd have to check again, but I don't think it was forever.

No. Paul was not saying that women should not preach or "speak" in church. Paul recommended a woman by the name of Phoebe, a deaconess, to the church of Rome. (Romans 16:1-2) He said to treat her the same way as you would God's People. This means the same way you would treat a Man of God. People of God are treated the same. In, 1 Corinthians 14, Paul was speaking about a certain group of "disruptive women" speaking in the church. They were interrupting the church service asking questions in way that caused debating and argument in the church. Paul instructed that these women wait to ask their husbands these questions at home. (1 Corinthians 14:34-35) If you study the scriptures in the original language ==Greek, you would interpret this. 2 chapters earlier in 1 Corinthians 11 Paul tells women to cover their hair when they pray and give prophecies in the church. Praying and prophecies require a person to speak in the church. Paul made it very clear that there is no more male or female but all are ONE in Christ.(Galatians 3:28-29) Also Paul spoke about 5 daughters that gave prophecies in the church (Acts 21:9) The reason you are seeing more women speak out about God is because it was a prophesy that the Prophet Joel spoke about. He told us we would see God pour out His Spirit on male and female and they would give prophecies. (Joel 2:23). Prophecies are words from God that edify the entire church. (1 Corinthians 14:3) We are in the last days where many will reject the truth of the Bible. This scripture is being twisted by people who wish to victimize women and cause mental and physical harm.(Acts 20:30, 2 Peter 2:1) And they don't want their victims to have the same power and rights as they do. They want their victims to remain silent and victimized. Unfortunately, the church has done a poor job of keeping Predators out of the pulpit. If anybody follows a Predators then they are going to hell. Predators are not born again children of God. They are power hungry people that took over the pulpit and are not preaching the things that Jesus nor Paul taught. Peter says that if you mistreat the women God will refuse to hear your prayers, because the women are also Children of God. (1 Peter 3:7) Male and female are equal in inheriting eternal life. Satan just wants to stop the prophecies that God is giving to both men and women from being heard around the world.

My view on the eve sin, when Jesus dies on the cross, the curse of women bearing children painfully was not canceled, like the thorns were not canceled.... We are under grace but the judgement stands, pls correct me if I'm wrong saints, women are the weaker vessels to God that has not changed, hence woman are powerful to hinder husbands prayers, we carry a different grace in my view🙏

Another question 🫣🤣 I have understood preaching and pastoring to be different. Preachers do not need to Pastors, preaching is delivering a message. Pastors do preach, and have to lead and run a church. Ps is a "qualified position", and preaching is a function. Ngiyayibaxa yini? 🫣

Since a woman could be a pastor in the Old Covenant, a woman
can be a pastor in the New Covenant. Simple really.
I suggest my short and free essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles, by God.
A woman could only be given the authority by God to execute a man for his sin, if women are spiritually equal to men. A Judge could judge homicide cases according to Deuteronomy. Therefore Deborah, as a Judge, could execute a man for his sin.
A Judge was cleared to teach from scripture as he/she gave a verdict, according to Deuteronomy. Since in Judges 4, men went to Deborah to be judged, a woman could teach men, even in the Old Covenant in a public setting.
