I’m a patient who bought urology books at 58 to save my life. Your video is great information. One point to your draining the bag, ie I am an architectural /engineering designer, is that draining the bag can create a suction pressure evacuating anything upstream and the remaining tube. Having multiple indwelling catheters and UTIs there were less UTIs when I reengineered the plumbing line for positive flow with no back-flow and keep the bag low and drain. It is amazing when you look up urological infection rate from walk in a hospital to catheter. It would be great to see simple 2D vector graphics off to the side in a rectangle frame. The graphic could compliment your set and teaching. I had never been in a hospital, 2021, simple kidney stone 3rd in 15 years. Easy peezy. 3 botched surgeries later 84 hospital visits, 20 times with sepsis, 10 times I was on deaths doorstep, 11th time in ER the NDE and I owe my life and all glory to Christ. Never had gone to church but 2 years as a kid. I do now to thank Christ first. It was nurses who held me together, were there when doctors were not in the 19 hospitals I went through to save my life, well Christ did all the work not me. Thank you for putting out A+ information that saves lives. You will do great things helping and teaching others. God Bless All.
I am learning how to live with a indwelling catheter now as part of my life from now on . You're video was helpful but would like more on the day to day problems I have on the care and bacterial prevention that a person who lives 24/7 with a catheter
I had a catheter placed a few weeks ago following ESWL lithotripsy surgery during which they placed a ureteral stent. The aftermath was less than ideal as I had a lot of bloody discharge so my brain made my bladder clam up unable to pee, so they placed a catheter for five days. After it was removed I think I suffered CAUTI. I don't think it was the fault of the medical provider who both inserted it and removed it five days later, though. I think it was just a complication and consequence of surgery, stent, catheter, bloody discharge, etc.
This is so helpful with my didactic learning which is done online. Thank you so much! I will definitely buy your cards.
