This deck adjusts azimuth while under olayback mode also .Very nice deck. My CR7 GOES INTO direct recording when I just put the cassette in for playback and some times it goes into recording mode while under playback ode.
@@milind9098 Only Nakamichi has the arrangement of Azimuth Setting before recording in any cassette, this exercise of azimuth setting is done even though the setting is permanent This is done for every cassette because every cassette has some different construction inside due to some reason or so .Every cassette has different positioning inside the l cassettes reel etc and this is being adjusted by the head assembly to be on the 90 degree angle with the cassette reel for optimum recording and in some decks it is done manually also during playback .You must have noticed in a prerecorded cassettes that on one side playback is with very good sound quality but in the other side there is a little poor quality or the treble ,bass and vocal or not that brighter .This is happening in HMV cassettes also .
Why?It is required to be adjust azhimuth setting? No Matter , whether it is automatically or manually adjusted.. Deck Heads are permanent and fix factory adjusted . आप के शौक की दाद देना ही पडेगा. My Salute to your hobby.

Yes...thy are very high-tech .... imagine yester years such tech was available by nakamichi.....I hav in vasai....palghr dist....dr 10....dv10....av19.... purchased in dubai....year 1998....working and maintened well till now....it can beat any present system
There were tapes manufactured earlier which did not have tabs and a manual switch was required. Additionally, it also gives the feature in case one wants to record at 120 us on say a chrome tape instead of 70us. So there you go.

My Akai has a tape type selector and it has i ii IV and iii...iiis were made for a short while as the technology progressed to iv quickly hence I think it's rare to find a type III cassette and a system that has a iii type selector ... Good to have discovered your channel..

They can be bettered a bit but not transformed to the level of first pressing.

Azimuth is manually adjusted during playback. It's only during the record calibration that the azimuth works automatically.

where do to get decks and players repaired
Try Ebay or Amazon. They can be fixed and serviced by select technicians. There are a few in major Indian metros.
hi sir I have cr-7 model as I try to play I just run 2 second and stops do u know some solution what's wrong
There could be many reasons. Check these two first.
1. The idler tire is gone. Needs to be changed.
2. The capstan motor has developed issues.

Tape type selection is not the most unique feature of this deck. Tapes have tabs which tell the deck it's type and that's how it works!
