solid work, I paint aircraft and here in the field i use a Devilbiss Mini Compac for paint and clear, In my other shop i used a Iwata LS400 Supernova, No clear in that gun.
@@paintbydenn of course man! Super solid work. I wouldn’t say the paint is very special. It’s all PPG or AKZO NOBEL that we use. I find that it is just A LOT thicker paint. We shoot it on with graco electrostatic guns. It’s wild stuff sometimes. Keep up the awesome work!
I have the LS400 Iwata and was thinking of using it for clear. Have you ever used the LS400 entec model? I thought this video was for the iwata gun review but see others posting about Devilbiss? I also have a GTI pro gun for base or sealer but wasn't why you replied about the devilbiss guns?

I’ve got als some Devilbiss video’s, but I’m happy when I can answer everybody as far as I can with the knowledge and sometimes hard learned lessons when painting. The Devilbiss Pro Lite is actually my most used basecoat gun. For clear I love to switch from gun to gun 🔫 I want to get the LS400 for base, still don't have it in my collection. I've seen Gabriel from Motivated Painters use it also for clear. So it should be possible!

At a moment you will get the right distance and speed of the gun and then it will feel natural. Make sure that after you sprayed the first coat of clear, you wait enough time (flash of time) that the clear is sticky for the second coat.

Normaly I use these setting for spraying clearcoat with the Iwata Supernova: Fluid 6 turns open, fan 2 turns open, pressure 2 BAR / 29 PSI You could also try these settings: Fluid 6 turns open, fan 4 to 4,5 (max open), pressure 2 BAR / 29 PSI I found out, that these setting also work great for a mirror finish. Just give it a try on a test panel and let me know what works for you!
Hi! great video do you think the supernova is quite similar to a sagola 4600 extreme? im using a 4600 at the moment, but i wanted to move into something a little better, i was thinking on the ws400. im used to spray clear very fast, seems like you do too with this one. Hi friend, thanks for watching and commenting! I have never sprayed with the Sagola 4600 Xtreme, that gun is on my list next to the Walcom Carbonio to try out. With the WS400 you can spray slow, butt also fast if you get the fluid all the way out and get more close to the panel. Sorry that I can't give you a good advice about the Sagola as I haven't been able to try this one yet.

hey man i know this video is a month old but i have a quick question, isn’t the ls400 & ws400 the same gun internally just different aircap, fluid needle & nozzle? even though my entech ls400 sprays clear just as good as basecoat i can’t help but wonder if switching this for my clear coats will give me somehow a even better result
Hey buddy, you're right, they're the same spray guns except for the air cap and nozzle. I tried spraying basecoat with my WS400, but that didn't go so well. The other way, it is possible to spray with the LS400 clearcoat. If this works for you and you get a nice result, I'd keep doing it this way, but if you're up for something new to add to your spray gun collection, you could definitely buy a WS400.
Hi Willy, the rattle can is a blender to blend the fresh clear coat with the old clear coat. The blender is available for in the spraygun and in a rattle can. It is used for spot repairs and in this case the small parts I sprayed.

Hi Viper, I keep the air inlet of the gun wide open and regulate the pressure with a gauge attached to the spraygun.
