lovely looking car and a really informative review. only problem is did the cameraman not have a light on his/her camera? its a bit dark in places and you cant see all the possible detail

I received my own Lucid Air GT several weeks ago. This review accurately reflects how the car feels to drive. It delivers the sensation of being bolted to the road, inspiring great confidence but without being overly stiff and harsh. The full power setting is impressive but not really needed for anything short of competition, even in my lower power version. I have not been able to approach the car's limits in any meaningful way yet and hope to get some track time later this summer.

@@Mdxceed2 Mine was 139,000USD plus the usual taxes, licensing, and delivery fee. Lucid has several different models at a range of prices. I do not know what models and prices will be available in Europe.
I saw one of these in the metal (?) when I was in Florida two weeks ago. It is an absolute stunner of a vehicle. I wish them well, and hope they start RHD production and importing them to the UK, soon.

If Lucid made this with a large liftback let alone wagon boot....I'd now be looking how to import one without delay.
The letterbox boot is my main problem with this car, but I'm almost exclusively shopping for wagons because I don't want to rent a van every time I bring a bike or something.

@@coppurt wagon shape isn't aerodynamic. Aerodynamics are important for range/efficiency in electric cars. Therefore they keep making these shit blob shaped saloons like the mercedes eqs abomination.

Lucid's main factory is still being built. Full scale production is scheduled to start next year.
Great review of this car. The lighting conditions do not make for great vodeography, unfortunately; struggling between very bright conditions and a dark coloured car body. A light would have been ideal, especially when showing the trunk/

You get all the great cars to review! Lucid should have let you shoot interior shots in an area with more light. I thought I was going to love this car, but for some reason I’d prefer a Fisker Ocean even if I had the money.
On the windscreen, Citroen were ahead of the curve with the Zenith screen in 2014. Went even further back and had a clever blind system. I’d prefer a panoramic roof myself.
EQS is way longer than Lucid Air. Where did all that length go to? A slight bit to the boot, but less to the rear seat seemingly. Certainly not to the frunk.

This car really redefines what it means to an electric car. Founders edition will probably end up being one of the classics of electric world a couple decades down the line. Longest range is a cherry on the top.
Impressive and planted looking car, design-wise it has some Citroen vibes with it's styling.
This car style is so raring to have a wagon variant. Citroen's Numero 9 concept is a good reference for a sporty style wagon.

I test drove a Lucid a few weeks ago. Yes, a great driving car but the software is lacking. You can’t have maps and media on the screens at the same time. Salesman told me it would be fixed in a software update. Let me know when that happens.
In the early 2000s, Infiniti used have an instrument pod which moved up and down with the steering wheel. I wonder why more manufacturers don’t do the same.
hate to think of the cost or complexity replacing that single pane of glass when you get a rock chip that grows to a crack on the front windshield. I think it would have been better to have it is 3 pieces

Wonder how will they cut the price down to £50-60k.
How do they think to boost the EV transition with those price tags? Who can afford that price maybe doesn’t care about consumption and fuel costs… when you have petrol engine rolls Royce and maybach in the same segment why would you pick lucid?
That drug compartment at 13:20 is really impressive.
The first time I got behind the wheel of an EV, I immediately put the car in one-pedal driving mode. Having driven many miles in vehicles with significant engine braking, one-pedal driving felt totally natural and welcome. The EV I now own is always driven in one-pedal driving mode.
Lucid has me seriously considering purchasing one of their more affordable cars, when available.
If you are serious than make sure to Put your 300$ refundable deposit before June 1st since they are going in Price by 10,000 for lateer bookings than June 1st and will also lose 3 years of free electrify america charging.

Car looks great, but in mine opinion based on few cars in the past with huge "glass" roofs they more noisy inside then full metal option, 170k +price tag its high top in mine opinion so they won't be able to sale big enough volumes to normal middle class folks just for well loaded co..which again makes it v.niche ev proposition..but thx for nice informative video 👍

Next time please go into a bit more detail on NVH. “Fun to drive” is nice, but maybe not the key issue for a luxury sedan? Maybe it’s just me, but if I’m driving a big car to and from work, or taking a long drive to visit a client in the next city instead of hopping on a commuter flight, I’m probably not looking to be exhilarated and would prefer a quiet serene drive. Auto reviewers seem not to have that in mind.

Lucid need a look at the new BNW cockpit and also soft wear etc . Also wing mirrors should be cameras as be more aero and also rear view should camera like Land Rover . Surprised you not show the motor and how small and light it is and there battery tech which is diff to what’s in the Porsche and VW/BMW which they do not make them selfs where as lucid do. These are the Real important bits .
I find the design very inconsistent and a bit old fashioned. The handbuild cars are apparently well put together but doing the same in serial production will be a huge challenge. The range is good, but that is expected with such a big battery pack. The worst part of the design is maybe the trunk opening so much around the corner: could be very costly to repair when having a small accident .
Very picky aren't you? Feels like you are TRYING to find issues! Design looks great, production will happen, most efficient EV out there- better than Tesla, how may times did your trunk get hit?- mine NEVER! If you are that scared of an accident, go buy a used 10 year old Japanese or Korean car- should be cheap to fix.

I sort of understand where the comment about French cars comes from, I could see this wearing a Renault badge and being the new Safrane.
The camera works was so bad in the video, I can hardly see anything in the interior part. They should have bump up the exposure or using additional flood light.
When the presenter talked and pointing at something, please point the camera at it, not focus the presenter's face. It's natural human reaction when listening to somebody talking.
Autogefuhl is a european car channel, so please use metric system or at least show a converted miles/km on screen.

"Charging almost everywhere" doesn't mean anything. Every car with the CCS plug can charge at exactly the same charging points as this Lucid can

There’s a champagne colored one of these on my street. It’s even more gorgeous in person, absolutely stunning. The only downside, here in the US anyway; is that charging stations outside of Tesla’s network are a hot mess. There aren’t very many locations, they’re usually in cramped shopping malls, there are about five different providers that all require a unique account, only 2-4 spots that are often taken. I wish the government would create incentives for gas stations to provide charging stations. Right now, legislation just makes it harder for companies to make reliable and affordable gas powered cars. Meanwhile nothing is being done to make it possible for people who want an EV to actually have one.
Thankfully, outside of the US, all EVs will soon be able to use any charging station, including Tesla, as legislation mandates common plugs/sockets for cars and chargers, and Tesla is opening up it's chargers to non Tesla EVs.
Then again, this thing gets like 500 miles? If you home charge, then only for really long road trips would you need a fast charger.

The Lucid is really a luxury upper class EV over the Tesla, a direct fight against the Nio EV from China. Buyers have nice options.
Why shooting when the car is under a shade. It's too dark and nothing can't be seen. You've made this on several other videos .
If Lucid made a similar vehicle in the form of an AWD SUV, for under $100K, I'd be all over it.
The Lucid Gravity SUV will be officially introduced next year. There are a few teaser images out there. Few facts are available but Lucid designer Derek Jenkins said in an interview that it would have three row seating.
