Actually IU wrote a SHORT NOVEL about those who don't have dreams and reassured these people that it's okay to not have a dream or feel unsure about what they want to do in the future because it's not a weakness. "There are lots of people who don't have dreams but I don't get why is it something to be worried about. I actually wrote a short novel about this, but i'm not sure when will it be revealed, or maybe it'll never be revealed at all. Anyway, I dedicated a short novel for this topic as I can totally relate to how these people feel. Though I've achieved the dreams that I once dreamed when I was younger, I used to feel kind of lost and didn't know which way to go from time to time after debuting as a singer too. There were lots of times when I thought "Oh now that I'm 16 and I've achieved my dreams, what should I do or continue to pursue in life?!" I think our situations are pretty much the same, that is we just don't feel like achieving anything in specific... but it's fine to be like that. There are times when you feel as if the social atmosphere is telling you that you shouldn't behave like that, that everyone should have a dream because it's a must. The media tend to brainwash people with this type of thought too because nevertheless, it's a good thing to have a dream. It's good to know when you have something you want to do but it's definitely not a bad thing if you have none too. For me, I sincerely think that those who have no dreams are the strongest people out there. When you want nothing in your life and nothing to achieve right away, that is when you're at your strongest state. At least that's how I feel when I live my life. I have so many weaknesses and become super vulnerable whenever I need to do or must achieve something. I have to give up on so many things in order to achieve it, so I become really sensitive and mentally exhausted. Well conversely, at times when I don't know what should I do or what I want to achieve, I feel really strong because there's nothing to regret about at all. I don't feel nervous about meeting anyone or doing anything, cause there's really nothing to regret about. I like that state of mine the most. I like the rhythm too, I just feel my mental is at its strongest state. Regardless of that, no doubt that l'll still be concerned about what the people around me are doing and where they're heading to. Still, nothing will happen even if you don't have dreams to fulfill, seriously. Same goes for my sister and friends who are still living well even without dreams because something you must do will eventually come out on its own. The only problem is that you keep thinking how long you've waited and how desperate you are but it's the same for everyone. Enjoying a little but certain happiness from time to time, that's how everyone lives. Though this might make you feel anxious, and I'm not saying that it's something that can be solved right away, but I just want to say there's nothing wrong with it, and it'll be fine in the end. As a Korean, i always little upset when their lyrics are translated.😭 It loses so many meanings, texture and literature. They are really great poets with great words. I want many people are understanding korean words. -And As reverse situations too. (Eng>Kor)- But I know ppl can feel the vibe as a music right? Just... literature side... i mean
I'm learning Korean with the only purpose of understand deeply IU's song. Since I was young, I have always been obsessed with the meaning of the songs, and now I'm so surprised how a foreign artist can touch my heart in this way with songs in a language that is miles and miles far from my European culture. I really appreciate every little explanation, every detail that Korean people (or IU herself) underline in order to make her songs more meaningful for the international audience 🤗 (Ps. Sorry for my English 😅)

And yes, she started to master all of those three type. And yes, I agree too that her songs sometimes got both of those sides perfectly covered (stylish, but still have a good meaning) and become GREAT songs, for example on Blueming, dlwrma, 23, or Jam Jam. One thing, I think ppl need to know that while IU herself is a talented writer from the start, BUT being work with Kim Eana in 2009-now clearly made her learn about the trade naturally. Like she said, sing Kim Eana lyrics naturally make her understand what's good lyric, how to tie meaning and emotions, etc ...
