Amazing story, every child need their father around, massive respect to sarge for choosing a widow who already have a child.

She wasn't a widow. Shaq's biological father abandoned the family after a prison stint. About five years ago, Shaq met his biological father.....

It's a blessing to have a father like that. I know because I didn't have a father to teach me "life" things. I wish I did.

I hope that Shaq recognizes that his own family are going to one day wish that they had been able to tell him "Thank you" and "I love you" to him like he wished he had said "Thank you" to his own father. Don't stop your kids from showing their pride in you, their respect for you, and their love. When you are gone, they will regret the times that they didn't. They always do. Sometimes you have to man up and accept that emotional burden.

I spoke with Shack when his uncle who was a major in the Medical Corps told me about his promising cuz at LSU. I was a chaplain and helped process the paperwork to keep his stepfather in country.
His mama and he spoke with me a few times to thank me for helping the family keep his stepfather in Texas so he could be near shack that next season.
Very nice people m. I asked him to shoot hoops with Wounded Warriors once but I never really followed B Ball.
I did like LSU FOOTBALL except when they beat Clemson 😎
    Best regards on Memorial Day

To be clear, Shaq understood what his father was telling him because he hit him in the face. Our society rightly condemns violence today, yet violence is everywhere and poorly used. In Shaq's story, this was righteous violence, a paradoxical term indeed.

It’s sad that many NBA players have the same story in which they didn’t grow up with both parents. Either the mother or the father wasn’t in their lives or they were deceased
