I took the opportunity today to rewatch this episode and I am enchanted by the organization and beauty of the event, the union of the philatelic community warms my heart, when I think I have seen it all a taxidermy envelope appears, the postage stamp is a fabulous world.
😊 It is indeed a fabulous world. Stamp shows bring so many cool collectors together, and Stampex is my favorite of all the shows. I always meet new and old friends there, totally worth a trip one year in the future :).
There is nothing even remotely like this in the desert here in Phoenix so having you highlight some websites with reputable dealers is very welcome. I have reduced the bulk of my own collection down to the stamps I really want and am very close to starting to go on a search to add more. Just need to know for certain which direction I want my collection to grow in. Thank you so much for your excellent videos.
Thanks BuzzaWuzza!! Yeah it is unfortunate that we don't have Stampex type shows everywhere, it is always a treat to attend. When you are ready to start growing the collection, definitely check out the PTS dealer directory, you can go directly to each of the store links right from the site: www.thepts.net/members.html#!directory/map. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your focused collection as you build it up!!
Great video Graham. It looks like it was a fantastic stamp show. I am attending the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada 's ROYAL 2023 in London, Ontario this weekend, but with 30 dealers it is certainly not as big as Stampex 2023.
Great vid! I had an amazing time at Stampex this year, and really enjoyed talking with you and Todd about philately on the internet in general in the social media surgery. I'd have chatted more but you looked rather busy, with lots of content to make. Besides, I could only be there for 1 full day, and had a hell of a lot to do myself (see: scour the place for stuff for my thematic collections, write out and post cards from Stampex for exchanges, and then have enough energy to go to the postal museum the next morning). Met up with a load of my friends that night down the pub in Charing Cross and naturally showed them a picture of the 1c Magenta behind its reinforced glass. Should have seen their faces when I mentioned it's worth £8,000,000 or so!
Wonderful! 😊 Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did. Thanks for attending the talk. I also loved the fact that the magenta was there, it was clearly the center of attention the entire time. Thanks James!!
Merci Graham, when we are far its very nice to realize all those works for Philately Excellence and Exploring Stamps communicate, share and make it possible on worldwild. J'espère venir un jour sur un des évènements vous avez fait un très bon film, cordialement. M. Michel Sulpin
Great Video. It’s been awhile but well worth it. Looking forward to seeing more of Stampex 2023 . Glad to see your other half there as well. For those who can’t get to stamp shows like this is great. Keep up the great work and service to the Philatelic community. Happy Collecting
Thrilled that the Glasgow stamp shop was featured! I got to visit the store when I was in Glasgow last summer and they were extremely friendly folks. 💖 (And as I'm from Canada, I now know to check out Chris Green!)
The Glasgow Stamp shop team is awesome! Definitely check out Chris Green's store, he is a top class dealer and a great person. I hope to visit his store in Ottawa at some point. Thanks so much for watching 😊
Really looking forward to these episodes. Love checking out these shops online. Well rather in real but my life won’t let me. Unfortunately I cannot visit the website of The Glasgow Stamp Shop. Anyway, thanks for the video Graham!
Thank you Chris! 😊 yes sadly the Glasgow stamp shop seems to not be available outside the UK. I’m wondering if that is a glitch or intentional, so I’ll let the PTS know. Thanks so much for watching!!
I love that you showed a penny black with LB as the corner letters, because those are my initials as well. I collect GB as one of my main areas, and at the front of my collection are two full pages of Queen Victoria stamps with LB, including a penny black! I wish I could have attended this show
Thanks again, great content! You keep managing to help me keep my passion for stamps when I see there are events like these that still exist as there are still many out there enjoying stamps!
Hi Graham, another excellent video, bringing us to Stampex. Visiting Stampex made it to my bucket list, and so did meeting you and Laura. I am a proper groupie now, I think. 🙃😊😛Back to your video - you really manage to take us with you to feel as if one visits the show oneself. I cannot imagine that you get time to yourself. I gathered you gave a talk? I hope it will be available somewhere. Best regards here from Kiwi-land. 🥝
It looks fun to go to a lot of information. My stamps are in storage at the moment. Sold our house and traveling around 🇭🇲 in a 4wd and camper van. Still love to look for stamps still love watching the videos 👍👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺😎
Sounds like fun!! I'd love to take a camper van and just travel for several months, ah enjoy!! The stamps will be there when you return, thanks for watching :)
I loved it Graham, even saw a familiar face passing by 🤗 A very good overal overview of the show, and I noticed that despite being there all days, I missed a few things. Well, that is for next year then. Looking forward to part 2,3,4,5 …..
Thank you. There were several dealers of worldwide material, so it is possible! Check out philasearch and the PTS directory for their full list of dealers.
Missed your talk on day 1 when Dad and I went😅 we heard the announcement, dad was deep in boxes of album pages and albums and i was deep in the FDC boxes 😂, Was all round a fun day opening my eyes more to the hobby, looking at the older gb stamps, and the values were shocking if i ever managed to find one in the bundles or kilo-ware/charity lots ild be speechless. Bit sad royalmail stoped going there tho when you think how important the company is for the hobby and collecters, wonder if they will be going back or if they're done 🤷🏼
Ah the FDC and postal history boxes are too tempting for me as well… could spend hours there!! 📦 😊 Glad you enjoyed the show, Stampex always gives me energy and excitement for the hobby. Thanks for watching!!

Congratulations! Now you are in for a lot of fun
How inconsiderate of her…. 😳😆
CONGRATULATIONS!! Yes please forgive her, you must be very happy (and tired)!!
Great video Graham. Could not be there, kinda far (Thailand) but tks for showing it to us.
Maybe next time! Or at some point I would love to check out the big show in Bangkok. 😊 Thanks so much for watching!!
