Sir for the a^2-ab+b^2 question I used the (a+b)^2 identity. I got:-
(a+b)^2=a^2+2ab+b^2
Now subtract 3ab from both sides and we get
100-3ab=a^2-ab+b^2

52=a^2-ab+b^2

Sir, the answer of the question done on the above time stamp is wrong. It should be done as follows:
p(x) = 8x^3 - ax^2 - x + 2
P(-1/2) = 8(-1/2)^3 - a(-1/2)^2 - (-1/2) + 2 = 0
- 1 - a/4 + 1/2 + 2 = 0
- 1 + 5/2 - a/4 = 0
3/2 - a/4 = 0
- a/4 = - 3/2
- a = - 6
