Currently in BLET right now. In our 5th week of class. We do a 1 1/2 mile run everyday and 40 pushups and today we did a dummy drag but with people who were 175+
Be able to do proper pushups. Those sets of 20 are what most people fail at, and it's gender neutral....so everyone has to do sets of 20. Can only speak to current (2022) NC BLET standards. Phase 1 under 6min / Phase 2 under 3min
@@friendsareforever100 wow. In NYC It's the (I'm sure its the same all over) written then physical then psychological then medical. Sometimes medical then psych.
Does anybody have any advice for how to train for the second part 175-lb dummy drag? In my BLET class there are 2 small females who are struggling. I'm a bit bigger and it isn't a struggle for me but I'm wanting to help them. I'm trying to think of exercises that would help condition them and build strength for that event specifically.
Took the POPAT today in my BLET. I would say grab the collar of the dummy (if the dummy has a shirt on like ours) and take small steps. You have 3 minutes for the second part so make up time with the running or step ups if necessary and take it slow with the dummy drag. If it doesn’t have a shirt then fold one leg over the other and grab it on the knee joint. Those are two easy ways to drag it. Wouldn’t advise picking it up by shoulders unless you’re a machine
Lord help I am going into blet at some point I really hope we ant gotta do that many bags rolls testing I see appoint one time but not 3 but I'll do it xD
When you can do everything else with ease, but can't do push ups to save your life 🤦🤷.
What is the obsession with the bag rolls holy crap.. don’t have those in Georgia…
I know this is a year late but if I'm correct, it's suppose to simulate you on the ground fighting and having to roll with someone

I took this course for fun at my local college. Finished at the top of my class at 140 lbs 5'10" at 30 years old
Dude if ur 140 and 5 10 you've gotta be skin and bones.

Bro that sounds like cake compared to what I was doing at the academy
I’m curious what else you guys did for pt? Towards the end of BLET?
That's probably the last training you will get unless you pay for it!!!!
Is the run timed
2:29 on the first portion and 1:09 on the second phase total time of 3:38👏🏼
Are you really in shape? Makes 6min sound like a lot of time

Simpler than in NYC. 1 1/2 mile run after push ups and sit ups. And the run has to be done in 14 or less.
In asheville that's just the test to be able to do this test

Lucky upstate it’s sit ups / push ups the 1.5 mile run in less than 12:38
Do your higher ranking officers have to take this test? I've seen many that could never make it around the chair once.
You only have to pass it once while in BLET. Not a mandatory yearly test at most agencies.
So glad I did the 2001 POPAT! No bag rolls!!!
Jeffrey Muller Dude that bag is a bitch I thought I was going die rolling with that thing lol
Jesus Christ that was phase 1???

As far as preparing for it the only thing I can think of is practice on a willing family member 😂😂 if they’re willing to risk possible carpet burn
The bag roll is harder than you think
Can do it but so confusing 😊
A lot of that seems pointless. What does a bag roll do for you exactly? Lol is that your jujitsu training😂
Meant to be wrestling with a suspect
@@Darkpara1 im aware but that’s a good way to lose to a suspect. I hope they take a jujitsu class after that.
damn... this popat test is extreme...
That area is nice
Not one single officer of the Lenoir nc police could last half ay through the first test! The fence would be the death of their training.
