This song has one of the greatest and most fragile melodies every written in rock. It's almost there all the time, but never quite there all the time if you know what I mean. Such a great work of art.
Not many people can say they invented something. Jeffery did. Along with Ian Curtis. I miss them so much, sometimes tears come to my eyes when I hear their hearts pour to us. Being from Boston, MA I never got to see Joy Division live. I was lucky that I got to see the Gun Club live a few times.
so, what has happened in america? where are bands like this today? are there any? i'm too old to know the underground of music but is there anything like this today? these people were underground and they were great were is this today?
Almost every Gun Club song reminds me of later, sometimes much later songs from other more successfull bands that drew inspiration directly or indirectly from them. This is arcade fire decades before arcade fire :) (but I like arcade fire)
Perfect. So Gun Club is virtually ignored and those producers of bland beige "college rock" from athens georgia rise from indie darlings to superstars. we picked rem over gun club. the bad taste in this country never ceases to amaze.

Today's music is a travesty. It sucks terribly. I agree. All robot voices and Photoshop. Materialism and plastic. Vanity and vapidity.
