  • Top Billin' reacts to the results of his poll on which Seattle Seahawks WR will benefit the most from the presence of new OC Ryan Grubb. All will benefit, not doubt, but second-year stud Jaxon Smith-Njigba has a chance to enter the national conversation at his position #seattleseahawks

      @TB - Nah, bro, it's all opinions. There's really not a right or wrong answer to an opinion, ya know? The results will speak for themselves at the end of the year, but it's always fun to speculate and get the ball rolling on some real football head discussions!! Thanks for the Hibachi Tip!

      @@TopBillinSports facts. Love your videos and inputs. There’s no wrong answers or questions. Like you said man DK is dk he will be reliable, rocket is a no brainer put him in any offense he will thrive, 10 season with the Seahawks 3 different offensive coordinator I believe, and he’s preformed in everyone. Esk he flashes in the preseason but reg season haven’t seen much and then bobo we will see more second year he’s got room to improve and he’s got football iq

    Kinda unrelated to the video but very relevant to JSN... I just watched the touchdown throw from the rearview @ 8:20 and I'm just thinkin'... Holy Balls, Geno. Firstly, objectively is there anything that could have been better about his throw? Secondly, Holy Balls, Geno!!!

    I thought about this question a lot and I honestly don't have an answer. I hope all of them but it's very hard to know what it's going to look like. From watching Grubb's offense the last 2 years. all 3 receivers went up and got it, they did not wait for it to come down. Polk and McMillan both got hurt last year and McMillan was the top receiver in his 1st years as OC so it could be any of them. I can;t wait to see I know that.

    Yo this video just made my offseason. Getting the shoutout from none other than Murph himself. Thank you man. 🫡
    I keep hearing the press conferences and the players and coaches talk up JSN. If he’s the most improved receiver this year under Grubb then my team is feasting. I still think DK is gonna have his best years with Grubb but maybe JSN ends up with better numbers just from his sheer skill set and ability to play inside and out. A lot of Grubbs offense that we saw at UW was all about timing and tempo. Route running prowess is gonna get guys like Jsn and Bobo open early and on time for those kind of plays. That’s not to say DK can’t do similar things and even just use his size where he just boxes the defender out for a quick 7-10 yd gain. I just think JSN will be more reliable in the short game while remaining a target in the deep game. Who really knows what Grubb is gonna do.
    Glad to know that these polls result in more analysis and breakdown. Great content as always.

    Players I’m excited to see this year under Mike & Grubb
    1. My Njigba ( Grubb play style is simply fitted for a guy like him )
    2. K9 ( because of the type of style Grubb has it’ll create better run plays for K9, his style gets the wr’s more involved in the block game. DK & Jake both can get in your shiii with the blocks )
    3. Dk ( there should be more plays for him down the field open, I still feel like there’s more he can display when it comes to his game. I would love to see him actually go up and target the ball more. )
    4. K Mac ( considering how much you vouched for him really excited to see him play, I would honestly be surprised if he doesn’t replace Dallas on the KR & PR.
    Mike
    1. Murphys Law💪🏿 ( I got so much hope for this kid man, he just gives me that certified dawg, chase down all in your shii type of play style. )
    2. My favorite on Defense LIL SPOON ( he’s simply only gonna get better and better, especially with a coach like Mike, they both are well for each other )
    3. Nwosu ( he was ballin last season before that injury, having him back around that line of scrimmage gonna be harddddd!!! )
    4. Big cat ( him and murph go be feasting all year long )
    5. Woolen ( if anybody’s the coach to make him wrap on his tackles and get dirty it’s Mike, if he fixes that shii him and spoon easily Top 2 CB Duos )
    6. Mafe ( he balled last year )

    Love your content and analysis! I gotta see if the O-line is going to hold up first! I trust Geno even with so-so protection, but still, if we are comparing UW O to how Grubb is going to play call... well, it is THE NFL, right?! haha I'd like to see the ball spread around a bit... we've got a ton of talent at the WR/TE/RB position. • @paytonconner7239
    @paytonconner7239 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think most of jsn’s progression this year will just be because hes getting more reps not necessarily the scheme. Im hoping the new oc doesnt use dk as a decoy as much as the last regime did. Dk definitely needs to get better at the 50/50 balls but just getting him the ball on shorter routes too helps our team so much because you never know what he can do after the catch. He was amazing vs dallas and Philly because that’s how we used him not just a deep threat/decoy

  • @Zaknyfein
    @Zaknyfein 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I think this scheme is going to enhance the abilities of all these receivers...That being said, I believe it will benefit Jake, Jaxon and Tyler the most because they all possess the ability to create space and this system will work to significantly improve on what they are already doing...

      He wouldn't be the option as a designate deep threat, but he would be a good option there regardless. You feel what I'm saying? There's really not much he can't do and be successful with it even if there are people better at an individual role.

    I could be wrong, but honestly I have a feeling Tyler will be used a lot less in the offense by mid season. I don’t think Grubb or McDonald will like the lack of YAC or even attempted YAC, especially when we have someone like Bobo who is willing to die for some extra yards. I think Tyler moves to more of a WR4 role. I love Tyler but I feel like we have some special player waiting in the wings ready to step up.

    because solidly built RB-style skills mated with serious speed will likely be this new kick-return specialist's calling card, I see Laviska Shenault Jr and Dareke Young (who may have more FB snaps in his repertoire) as WR 5 and 6 since they give Plus-quality on Special Teams. Dee Eskridge (who) is gunna have to light it up to have a job - on the Seahawks or to catch on with another club. Not just to be injury-free, the dude has to Light It Up, which would be great to see but I just don't 'see' it...Many thanks!

    When it comes to physical contact, Tyler Lockett is going down faster than the "Hawk Tuah" girl backstage at a Morgan Wallen concert.
    These aren't exact comps, but I think they're close enough. DK (of the three) would be more of that X, Rome Odunze role. Obviously different skill sets, but similar role. Rome is an elite high point guy, whereas I've never really seen DK get that timing down. (Very un-Rodman like)
    Polk actually isn't a bad comp for JSN. Polk maybe being a little more physical over the middle, with JSN having crisper routes.
    And McMillan was kinda that Lockett guy that can stretch the field with deep crossers and up the seams, and isn't gonna make too many guys miss in open space, but can win a footrace.
    I can actually see Jake Bobo in that Jack Westover role as a safety blanket/on-line move TE. I know he's only like 210, but he was a very good blocker last year. Obviously you don't want him playing next to the tackles. (Am I crazy?)
    Obviously that's all oversimplified, but I'm not pretending to be Mike Martz here lol.

    • @TopBillinSports
      @TopBillinSports  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lol, you're wild, Son, for that Lockett metaphor!!!
      I feel you, but nah, Noah Fant would be that over a Bobo. Blocking some small DBs isn't the same as having to get it in with a Myles Garrett, 6-4, 272, or Khalil Mack, 6-3, 250, you feel me?

  • @seahawker4life52
    @seahawker4life52 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I can't wait to see what happens after JSN scores a TD on a sail route.. Grubb had McMillan do that a lot, and JSN is a Lambo to McMillans Corvette.. just a whole different class. Especially when you have DK running a fade or comeback on the same side.. pick your poison. They did a lot of that with Polk and McMillan last year and it was so good. Or Polk running a deep crosser.
    Free JSN and watch the offense stack points.

  • @banksta3
    @banksta3 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You're right about DK. NOBODY had DK as a 1st round pick before the combine. And obviously nobody had him as a 1st round pick in the actual draft, since he almost slipped to the 3rd. He's actually overachieved based upon his selection.

  • @adamthompson8140
    @adamthompson8140 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Damn Murph. These Hawks fans STILL got their shirtless photos of DK on their bathroom mirrors. That guy is going to have the same damn problem he’s had his entire career- route running. I don’t care what offense you put him in, he still needs to be a proficient route runner in order to create separation. He won just 46% of his total routes last season. DK and Rome are completely different receivers so for these fans to think DK would be used like Odunze, who had the highest contested catch rate in college football, is just plain goofy. Ole Miss had the formula right- DK needs to primarily be used to stretch the field.
    Tell em Murph! JSN is absolutely the WR1 on this team and I think the coaching staff believes that too. They’ve spoken on him being a centerpiece in the offense and he absolutely should be. We know his hands are good, but his ability to separate is ELITE. Kid was 6th in the NFL in yards of separation per target last season. So you’re absolutely right- JSN will have the most to gain within Grubbs offense. And I’m with you on Bobo. I expect to see an uptick in his usage too, especially in the red zone where Seattle struggle most last season because they couldn’t figure out how stop spamming red zone targets to DK.

    Happy to see some reality-based talk on DK. I've been talking about his massive underperformance on contested balls from the beginning, but the homers all drool over DK. Nope. Add that he mentally takes himself out of games and gets really damaging penalties? Overrated. The potential? Should have been, with that size and speed, the greatest WR in NFL history. So far below that.
    Can new coaching and new schemes bring out the best? Hope so, but mentality and maturity are not something coaching is going to change all that much most of the time. Hasn't so far.

    You were talking JSN filling every role on the team…I thought DK would be drawing double teams by now, but I bet you right. I bet JSN be the the one who opens it up for everyone else.

    Yo Murf, are you going to make a Seahawks and Eagles season prediction?

    • @TopBillinSports
      @TopBillinSports  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for tapping in. That's not my style of content. I'd actually like to drop the Eagles just to have Seattle people get off the Eagles nuts.
      Last season was by far my least favorite season on the channel because of Seattle's obsession with the Eagles. I had 737373 Seahawks fans all over my Eagles content and always mentioning them.
      When I covered other teams, Seattle fans weren't as annoying. That dynamic made me want to cover other sports; it was that bad.

    Dee has been an absolute waste of a pick. I loved Laviska coming out of Colorado. He has some Anquan Bolden in him. I thought Pete would have loved him. He’s gonna make his presence felt. But JSN is a pure WR. Nice breakdown my man.

      Appreciate you watching, bro!! Interesting comp for Shenault. Him and Bolden definitely favor with the physicality portion of their game. Bolden turned himself into being damn near uncoverable with his route running eventually in his career, which I think is the major difference between the two as Bolden seemed more effective in the mid-range game and could push it vert despite being super slow on the clock..

      I appreciate the sentiment, but this platform has made more millionaires than any other, and you don't have to be at the mercy of some big company that can fire you for much less than the stuff I do on my channel.

    Trey flowers sucks. Go to the search bar and type trey flowers highlights. Enjoy 2-3 min of a guy making assisted tackles and acting hard after the QB over threw his man. His coverage put me in concussion protocol.

      Please feature this comment in a future video Billin. Every time you bring him up I cringe. I need him to know my hate, it will help with my recovery.

      I'm sure you mean well, but you're doing too much, homie. I don't take requests to feature a comment in my video nor is Tre Flowers relevant to anything I'm doing outside of setting up that Dee Eskridge Mother/Sister joke in this very video. Also, Tre Flowers isn't watching some Seahawks coverage and having him "know your hate" is mad strange considering he's like 3 years removed from the team you root for.

    Reality check: The analyst consensus is that Seahawks will be a 6 or 7 win team this year. I agree, that atrocious defense and offensive line will still be a problem with the improved coaching and personnel.

      What are you talking about? When you live in hoods and around real people who get it from the mud, and not some nondescript suburban area, you realize that not everything you think in your mind needs to be expressed. I have no clue what you're talking about as I never compared Metcalf to anyone in football and especially Calvin Johnson because he isn't him.
