I'm a beginner player and I've been wishing that some of these Mosconi players would do a video where they just say what they're thinking out loud during a rack so that I could understand what's going on. Finding this video was just what I was looking for. I also like the unedited stuff where the light is in the way, crew laughing, etc. Keep this up, it's such a great learning tool and I'll watch more!

Thanks Cory, as was previously stated, always a great learning experience to hear what a pro is thinking/considering while running out. Hope to see more from you and congrats on the Mosconi Cup.

The video editor didn't sync the audio very good, or at all.

First off, the title was "... 8-Ball Rack... ", so I thought we were going to get some inside dope on the Deuel Breaking
System. Instead, this should use an "8-Ball Run-Out" in the title.
Here are the questions I would have asked him if I were there:
    1. Do you think a random player should try to clear the table from one end to the other (ending on the 8-ball's end)?
    2. When the table is open, do you think a head-start presented by one group is worth consideration?
    3. Since most APA games are played on bar boxes, do you think the emphasis on run-outs is a detriment to win strategy?
    4. Should the first balls pocketed usually be those which are blocking later shots?
    Thanx for your instruction!

Enjoyed the video, but with the APA logo while watching it, stripes were your only choice, as you made one on the break.

I paused the video and chose the exact same path you did but I would have shot the 10 before the 12 as well if the light wasn't in your way lol.

I was just wondering if they were racked the right way?
Im not sure if they were or not but from what I’ve learned you have to have on stripe and one solid in each back corner?

    • @raygrinders3918

Yes, you're supposed to do that, mostly as a way to ensure that the rack isn't symmetrical. But having the corners be in the same group is considered an advantage to the breaker, and in APA matches the opponent racks, so the racker rarely complains if the situation is noticed.

Balls was set incorrectly in triangle whats up with that? 🤔

That was an easy one. Its gets real fun when 3 balls are locked up. I thought for sure shoot the 14 before that 13. Geez those corner pockets are huge must ne a Brunswick.

In APA u have to take what u make... We don't have an option of shooting solids or stripes. So this video doesn't apply to this league.

Its still the same concept though. Say your opponent doesnt make a ball on the break.

@@robertcunningham4507 but if you make both on the break, you still have the option

Its still the same concept. Hes teaching you how to look at the table and see what your problem balls are an where to start. Doesnt matter if you break or not. Thats all im saying.
