- Monster Energy Mammoth Motocross... the Bear hunt.
40 C class of day 2 (Sunday, 8-27-23) with both Division 2 (race 6), and the Final (race 24).
*First race is of Div. 2 (race 6) and quickly went wrong! I got caught up in a wreck and managed to break a toe (found out today that its fractured), but luckily it was red flagged and we got to re-rack the start and do it again. They took the top 16 (of 40 riders) straight to the Final; otherwise you'd have to race the LCQ. Unfortunately my GoPro holder was broken off and I wasn't able to put it back on in time before the restart. Ended Div. 2 (race 6) with a 10th place.
*2nd moto is the Final 40 C race (race 24) and was okay; not what I wanted, but a 15th out of 38 is good. Esecially with a broken toe.
This was definitely a bucket list race, and quiet the experience! - บันเทิง
I was There Bud 👍…Unfortunately I Didn’t Race Sunday….This was the Class I was racing on Saturday, glad your OK from that Crash 🦾
What a beautiful day and track... looks like you all were having a great time. Thanks... I appreciate these types of videos. This reminds me of when my brother used to travel all around racing... yes, we even raced Mammoth. 👍
That track was really fun and challenging, and yes, very beautiful out there too. Nice to get away from the high heat and get some fresh air as well.
Looking good besides those getoffs. I see my good friend Jason Perez did well👍
Thank you!
Great riding Steve just bad luck with those two crashes not your fault.
@JLee173B Thank you Jon, I appreciate that. I was definitely bummed to get caught up in that mess, but thankful to get a full restart and qualify 10th for the Final race. Then the 2nd time I went down... well, that's just racing. We were running close and he lost traction of the rear and swept my front wheel out. Managed a solid 15th out of 37 with a broken toe. I'm alright with that.
Wow, cleaned out in moto 1 and looked like you were playing it safe in moto 2 but got cleaned out again. Ouch, rough day. On second thought, any day on the bike is a good day!
Yep, always a great day when you can get out and ride! Unfortunately, these things happen in racing. The second Moto I was trying to keep from going down as I was already riding in pain; but it just wasn't my day. Better luck next year. 🤞🏼
That was me you hit. Was trying to avoid that crash in front of me
I hope you're feeling alright and didn't get any injuries from it! Not your fault, it all happens so fast and you just reacted how anyone would; I had no time to react and nowhere to go. Just a racing incident. I think my foot was smashed between your bike and mine since my header pipe was dented and everything is on that right side.
Again, I hope you and your bike are okay. That was quite a hit!
@@mxrider337 bike and I beat up. my header is trashed but finished it out. All 👍 good
@user-ip3kd7et5j Good to hear you were also able to finish it out too. My header is squished, but surprisingly I didn't notice any power difference. Already ordered a replacement. Are you also in the OTHG? Your name sounds familiar.
Now i see why our Heat race got red flagged! I knocked out a sweet holeshot for nothing! LOL . bad luck on that bike bouncing off and taking you down.
Congrats on the holeshot and overall riding! Those starts are the key. Starts are always key, but they're even more crucial when you have such a stacked gate. I'm thankful it was only a broken toe, and I was able to finish out the day.
yeah mammoth is 99% about the start casue those switchbacks are almost impossible to pass in . Thankfully i have lots of experience on cement starts...was a great weekend with great weather!
