    Had Github for 3 years but I left it empty because I never knew how to use it and what to populate it with.
    Recently, beginning of the year, I've been posting all my college assignments and as you said, version control with some side notes highlights what you're learning during each project. Now I'm getting job offers via LinkedIn from different companies, all commenting on my college projects.
    Loving this video and I'd love to see more to be honest

    Please do more of these videos. I'm considering a career transition into Linux -right now-, so any and all advice in that regard would be a huge help.

    These type of career videos are great.

    Please keep making them. Thank you!

    Jay,
    Awesome video! I took you advice the last time we spoke. I'm still trying to figure out how to use GitHub. But I made the account and started exploring.
    I have found a lot of useful groups on subjects that I have encountered during my Linux studies.
    Please would you continue to do more videos like these? Everytime I feel like I hit a brick wall, one of your amazing videos picks me back up. Very inspirational.
    Please and thank you!

    I was learning how to stream on youtube and etc. At my past job we needed to stream live video at the last minute due to someone double booking the council chambers. I hesitated to say that I knew since I would be the "go to" guy. I don't want to add more duties unless there is more $$. I made an exception and helped out my employer and state "This one time I can help but its not in my duties." They were happy then it was "Can you do that one more time" I declined and suggested I was not a professional. Then I left the company. Yes, learn something for yourself above all. Keep your curiosity going. But also remember don't give out your talent for free to employers if they are not willing to cough up some dough. I enjoy this channel and thoroughly enjoy sharing my knowledge with others as they shared with me. Paying it forward. But not for employers who want more out of you for not much pay.

    That's such and nice idea man thanks for the video! I've been busting my ass trying to soak up as much information from famous Professor Messer channel, and i realized that what was i essentially doing while studying i was also transcribing/translating (english it's not my first language) his whole A+ video series,and i thought to myself "Man so many jobs listing are asking for note taking abilities and passion for the job, if i could only point them to this behemoth of a file that i'm making just for my self it would sure prove that 1st i am quite capable of creating outstanding notes 2nd i am serious about making a career in IT and i'm willing to put the work for it and 3rd that my english skills are indeed advanced" and this github idea gives me the platform to do just that! so again thanks for sharing this it will help me alot.

    When I worked for a very large IT company. I was told anything I wrote, even a 2 line bash script, potentially belonged to the company. They weren't keen on OS.

I'm also Newbe Sketchup for build projects. Perhaps that would also be good to post as I build out my industrial shop, and renewable energy systems?

    Great stream, as always. I appreciate the level-headed approach you take to the news and the markets. A lot has changed and that's on everything but the truth is I don't even care much about bullish or bearish market anymore because Mr Richard Scote got me cover as I am comfortably making 1.5B T C monthly...

    Tip to prospective Git

    • @lawrencedoliveiro9104
      @lawrencedoliveiro9104 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hub users: learn how to use Git first. Some people seem to be under the impression that they should do a “fork” of a Git

    • @lawrencedoliveiro9104
      @lawrencedoliveiro9104 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hub repo just to have their own copy of the code. I remember one guy who forked several of my repos, over and over as I made updates, over several weeks. I think finally he gave up. Me, I make copies with “git clone” to my own PC.
      I also use Git

    • @lawrencedoliveiro9104
      @lawrencedoliveiro9104 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hub to host copies of some custom Emacs and login shell setups. This way I can easily use “git clone” at a customer’s place to put them on a machine that I am to work on there.
