Awesome bike Dan. It’s been painful watching Mark suffer through this opening stage - and what a tough opening stage it is! But here’s hoping Sir Mark holds on and we see a great deal more of the man, and his fabulous looking new bike. I hope Philipsen is feeling the heat and the pace. Cav will always be the GOAT whatever happens.
Great video Dan. Considering the bike wasn’t your size you managed to ride it well enough ..for the video Looking forward to your next. one. All the best
Sssshhhhhhh - don`t tell anyone but I`ve been a secret Bardet fan for years - especially in his AG2R years (almost went for the brown AG2R kit a few years ago), Dan
Growing up, Merckx was my Idol, then Hinault, now its Cav (well, all three). With or without that record, but could you imagine? That bike is my size by the way....
Wow amazing what a great bike to ride dude just my size to 😊 great vid man.. felt sorry for Cav in yesterdays first stage.. brilliant to hear the history and details about it to.. Specialized need to bring the Venge back.. Pete 🚴🏻🚴🏻😊
To be honest, if stage 1 was stage 16 and Cav pulled the pin and rolled in no one would have batted an eyelid - as Cav said, was the sensible thing to do... I`m also guessing that without McClaren on board Specialized had to re-design the Venge into that weird looking thing they had for a year or two, Dan
Very interesting Dan & Forest Row looks like rural France 🇫🇷 in the 🌞, did the bike get a lot of interest outside the shop ! Fingers crossed for project 35 👍
@@paulschulman8131 The brakes are really good on this one - direct mount would be an advantage in the wet though - and yep, the McClaren Venge is stiff, aero and comfortable - sounds like what everyones trying to produce now... Dan

Being a fan of Cav at any tour is never easy... Dan
Winner Cav is sprint king... I've just seen him accelerate to win stage 5..awesome. ❤😊😊

Yep, managed to get a pretty good fit in the end - just fatigued me after a couple of hours - now, the gearing on the other hand... Dan
Cav literally leaving it all on the road today.Brilliant breakaway win by Bardet.could be a classic TdF.

Hmmmm.... Hinault, Pantani, Cav are my three with a hint of Fignon to add some spice... Dan

McVenge. A combo worth getting
Also McLaren

Yep, early morning sunshine can transform a place, Dan
What does the venge weigh ?
With cages and pedals and all the electrical extra stuff it come in at 7.2k, Dan
@@vintagevelos9517 wow very light
@@brynmatton107 Very small with it... but yep, super light considering its aero, stiff and comfy - just never been an affordable frame... Dan
There is NO advantage of today's bikes over this one.
I'd say if the bike had Direct Mount brakes instead of single post would have been an even madder descender
