Just got the Corsair RM650x 80+ Gold fully modular PSU with 10 year warranty. There are 'tier lists' you can look up to find the best quality PSU at various price points. I just went with the best rated A tier. Recommended as the best PSU at this wattage.
Hello my friend, thank you for producing your valuable content. I am a computer teacher and I am interested in producing content. Finally someone that explains the function of each cable. I have watched other channels but non of them explain it quiet well, except you sir. This channel is indeed number 1 on the content. Salute !!
Hi. I don’t suppose the operator of this channel is going to become a multimillionaire with this kind of material but I want to say how much I appreciate the really excellent quality explanations of these technical subjects.
Thank you for explaing the 80 plus ratings! I was always wondering what those meant. It was cool to see some of the basics of the electromagnetic physics behind it
This video was right on time for me! I’ve been watching a lot of your videos lately, and yesterday I was thinking about how the 80 Plus works. Well, sure enough, this video gets uploaded lol. The video quality is great! Also, hearing a story about how the one cheap power supply worked out was informative and funny (although at the time it was probably really scary lol). 👍
Hey PowerCert, I really want to become a network technician in the future, And I am currently watching your videos to get a headstart at becoming one. I want to thank you for making these videos as I probably would have changed my mind about becoming a technician.
Oh my God, I was really waiting for this video from that channel, and without complimenting the videos provided by that channel, it makes me wish I could put more than one like for the video. Much love
I’ve been studying for my A+ through Comptia’s website for a college course I’m taking and I always end up watching your videos for each topic I study to fully understand it.
Absolutely golden reference worth more than any gold in the world. Knowledge is absolute power and knowing all of these brilliant knowledge from you absolutely amazes me. I was able to take away all the core components of the PSU and all thanks to you for providing with us the necessary information. Apart from your concise and precise explanation, the editing of the video where you are providing us information visually is also what matters and helps to understand better. Since, I'm a visual learner and this helped me to learn much effeciently.
These are always great! The videos are elegantly animated, the voice-over is very professional, and, of course, the content is of great value. The most interesting part I found is the 80-plus ratings. I had no idea this existed - let alone the additional ratings based on precious metals colors. I think if you're the type of person caring about the environment, you will want to get an "80-plus Titanium" rated power supply. Over time, that extra over-and-above baseline 80% rating can mean real savings on your energy bill while being slightly less cruel to the planet 😃.
10:07 - this situation occurs very often in Brazil. The power supply comes with 120v or 22v input, and with a switch to change according to the voltage coming out of the wall. So when we set the power supply to 120v but the wall supplies 220v we have smoke indeed!
Your knowledge delivery skills are to the point. I respect your ability to deliver presentations and topic so extraordinarily well. I like almost all you your videos. I just can say THANK YOU to thank you. Love from India.
thanks for you videos. You help me so much about my preparation to the certification compTIA A+, I read the book for my training but after finish one chapter I watch the video which have same content to help me to remember
Addendum to PCI Power: with PCIe - 5.0 specification coming out, GPU's are likely to use a new 12+4 connector (12 pins for power delivery, 4 pins for signaling). The 3090ti's currently use this connector, though often through splitters to 8pin PCIe power. Also, the new ATX 3.0 PSU specification is around the corner with new certifications for transient loads and efficiency on certain power rails.
I have an issue with my motherboard (from Fujitsu) when trying to upgrade the PSU. So the motherboard has this weird power/LED connector that is required to have a cable plugged in which is very unique from all other cables. That cable is supposed to come directly from the PSU. Though, the new PSU dosen't have that one cable. The cable, also wasn't mentioned in the video.
Like....why? Why would they make a motherboard that takes a special connector that none of the common manufacturers put on their power supply units?? Sounds like that thing they do with mobile phones to make them go obsolete after a certain time to make people buy the newer model. If I were you, I'd save myself the headache and splurge on a 150 dollar motherboard that uses normal connectors. Maybe a cpu upgrade while you're at it, depending on what you already have and what your budget is.
Thank you so much for explaining the labels. I figured anything with an 80 label was good enough for my PC when I built it. Definitely going to get a higher level PSU with modular pieces for my next build. Great video.
There is no calculator at the link that I see. Opens a page that says calculator but I see nothing to download, it has no fields to input information into.
This vid is really informative.👍 9:58 So the cheap power supply you bought blew up? I've heard a few stories, similar to the one you told in the vid. That is good advice you gave, to buy a good power supply, instead of a cheap one. Thanks.👍😲
I learned alot watching these animation videos then reading books. I am currently studying for the new Comptia A+ 1101 & 1102 Exam would be great for videos on the updated Exam.
What software can one used for creating quality videos like this? I mean the specific one used here. Please kindly teach me how I can use it for creating tutorial videos for kids. Thanks
I use a EVGA supernova 80 plus NEX 750B, it's been flawless after several years of use and more than I really need. I don't skimp out when it comes to PSU's, it's actually the most critical PC part for longevity of a computer. I also don't skimp out on PC components, quality stuff is all i use. Buy good the first time and be done with it and the odds of problems decrease drastically. I built my last computer 7 years ago and still use it to this day, never once had any issues.
i got a cheap best buy PSU and its been going strong the last 3 years (in a couple days im getting a new corsair one) and my friends expensive 750w psu fried earlier this year at a younger age than my psu is now so
The power supply brand that I use and recommend (Amazon affiliate)
