    Cool stuff. Thanks. If you name your templates as a psdt file instead of psd, they will open with the filename 'untitled', so you don't accidentally write over the template. I always make mine read-only, too.

    Thank you so much for this! I have watched so many other videos but they wanted me to create the designs in other programs. I love that I can use existing photos for this! I end up doing the script twice. Once to put the image on it and a second time to watermark the photos.

    Can you do this as an "open & place" type smart object so you don't have to resize it every time?

    Excellent! A game changer for mock-ups, I think.

    Great video! Have you compared this to the PS Bulk Mockup generator plug in?

      I am going to be taking the photos of my own mockups. They won't be flat lays but actual people with t-shirts on. Is there a way to take a photo of someone with a white t-shirt and then change the persons t-shirt colors like in your video? Also, I can never seem to get the color of the t-shirt accurate. Do you have a video on changing a t-shirt color based on the hex codes. I have the hex codes, but don't know how to do it. Thank you.

    Another great video! Thank you! Question: I see a lot of top sellers sell only 1 type of POD product in their shop. Is it a bad idea to sell the same design but on multiple products within the same shop?

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! There are a couple advantages to focusing on one type of product - for example, coupon codes or sales that Etsy only allows "shop wide" are not a problem since it's all the same product type. You don't have to have a lot of shipping profiles, you can use the bulk-edit feature for listings more easily, etc. However, there's also nothing wrong with offering multiple product types in the same shop! Especially if you have designs that are selling, it can be a great opportunity to make additional sales by putting the design on additional products. I personally like to offer most of my t-shirt/sweatshirt designs on mugs and sometimes tote bags too. However I would say there can be a point where your shop gets a little too "busy", meaning you're offering such a big variety of products that it can seem like a lack of focus, not to mention being more difficult to manage. I hope that helps!

      @@PODinsights that was very helpful thank you!! I wasnt sure if Etsy would have a hard time classifying your shop if you had too many different types of items, or if that really doesnt matter!

    Great information!
    It’s nothing to do with this video, but have you used Print Clever on Printify? I’m considering using them for UK orders, but I can’t find any reviews for this print provider…

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! Sorry, I have not used Print Clever. I had to go back and search through some listings but I couldn't find one that I used them for. For my t-shirt orders in the UK I've used T-Shirt & Sons but I tend to sell more mugs in the UK vs. t-shirts. For me T-Shirt & Sons has been on the slow side for production times but I've had no quality issues. If Print Clever has faster turnaround times I'd personally give them a shot but I don't have any insight on their quality yet.

      @@PODinsights Thank you. I looked at T-shirt & Sons, but unfortunately they don't have Gildan sweatshirt that I sell. Somehow I get a lot of sweatshirt orders from Europe region. I'm just using Swift POD and Monster Digital for now, but shipping time is long and a little stressful for me.

    The "top layer as foreground" output options are greyed out and won't allow me to make a selection. Why? Using Photoshop Beta, will try with regular photoshop.

    • @bri3518
      @bri3518 ปีที่แล้ว

      update: you have to unlock the background and add some layers

  • @1luckyb802

    Could this script be used or tweaked to put many images on a single mockup? Let's say I want to put 10, or more, different poster images on the same wall mockup. Is that possible with this script, or is there another script for this?

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In theory you should be able to do that with this script! There is an option in the script menu to use the bottom layer as the background, instead of using the top layer as the foreground. So you would place your mockup template as the bottom layer, then each of your design variations would be the top layers, and if you check that option it should export each of the design layers with the background separately.

    Thank you for this! This is even faster than Placeit. However, I recently read the updated Etsy Policy that will be effective 12-1-22. It says that you have to use your own photographs or video content -not stock photos, artistic renderings, or photos used by other sellers or sites. Am I reading this correctly? I haven't found anyone else talking about it. I also haven't checked to see if this was an actual chang or if was already the case. There is a link to a help artical that goes into more detail and seems to back this up. Are we going to have to re-do all of our listings with actual photos?

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi! This statement was in the seller policy prior to the update:
      You are using your own photographs or video content -not stock photos, artistic renderings, or photos used by other sellers or sites. Read more about using appropriate photographs in this Help article.
      The help article is located here: www.etsy.com/legal/policy/listing-image-requirements/253962679005
      There are two important points in the help article that apply to us:
      >> If an item is created with production assistance, the listing’s photos should be of the finished product or an image supplied by the production partner that accurately depicts the item the buyer will be receiving.
      >> If an item cannot be photographed because it is personalized or made to order, we ask that you use examples of your similar previous work. This is to give your buyers the most accurate idea of what their custom-made items will look like when they’re completed. Images created with the aid of computer software may be used in the additional listing images to give buyers examples of customization options.
      Because our products are made with the help of a production partner and they are made to order, these two statements apply and allow us to use mockup images. I hope that helps!

    You don't need a script just go to export layerrs to files

    • @PODinsights
      @PODinsights  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, exporting layers to files will export each layer separately as a file, but it won't apply your design from the top layer to each layer underneath. The script takes the top layer with your design and overlays it on each layer during the export.
