Dear Scarlett, thanks a lot for showing us one week in your business life. I really do appreciate that you share that with us and I love watching those videos (as well as the tutorials). For the short time that you are posting on TH-cam, you can be really proud of yourself and of what you have accomplished so far. Also during your busy week. When you started to list the things you want to do at the beginning I thought "Charity shop? Workshop? How great is that?" I really cross fingers that this will be a success. I'll continue with the TH-cam tutorials as a workshop. 😅 Your style is unique and though I personally would not wear it like that, I really like seeing it. I would probably wear one statement piece combined with neutral colors and not go "all in" - but I love seeing it on you. At some point I want to create a wrap skirt from neck ties - but currently I am lacking time to do it. Regards from Germany, Stephanie XO
Hi Stephanie, I’ve had one of those down days today and reading your comment has honestly put me in the best mood 🥹 thank you for taking the time to comment! I really appreciate it 🦋🧵 I can’t wait to see your neck tie skirt!
@@afrayed_upcycling Dear Scarlett, I am so happy that my comment brightened up your day ❤️ Sometimes I'm lacking words, but commenting also helps me improving my English beside the usual and daily Business English. Unfortunately you probably have to wait quite a long time to see a picture as I am working fulltime and we are renovating a house every day after our job and into the evening. Sorry about that. No time for sewing at the moment 😢. So I buy vintage sewing machines instead. 🤣 When it's finished, I'll make sure to share a picture by Instagram or e-mail. 😉 Have a wonderful evening and rest of the week and I just heard that England will be in the Finals of the European soccer/Football (I always forget which one's british and American English 😊) Championship. 🎉 And whenever you're feeling down again: You are doing a wonderful job and just imagine all the subscribers in a hall or a little stadion. You're brightening their days with your videos. 💕👍🏻
The creative process is a try, fail, succeed, try again thing. FAIL=First Attempts In Learning…take it from a nearly seventy year old nan. You’re doing great.
Absolutely love your last dress but still love the rest of your video teetering out what works and what doesn't. It was lovely seeing your babies, hearing of your achievements out in the community and I'd love your drinking chocolate recipe 😂 Thank you so much for all the dedicated effort you put into your week in the life video like you always do ❤ Xx
Scarlett, I just wanted to say that I adore you and your channel and everything that you do and make. I can never miss a week since I subscribed 🥰 Luv, from Montreal Canada
As always, I adore being able to come along with you as you navigate your week. Thank you so much for taking the time to film your days, edit all that footage...and upload it. This was fun!
Scarlett lovely to see what goes into designing clothing. People who don’t sew think it’s quick and easy. You’ll get there in the end. Well done on creating your pants pattern.
Another great video. Thank you. I hope the kitten has behaved herself more recently. I am in awe of your talents and love everything you make. You're very relatable and easy going and explain things well. If I was 30 years younger I would be making some of your patterns with gusto - but you have inspired me to look at alternative fabrics for when I am feeling brave.
Scarlett, I have recently found you and love your channel. I too am a TH-camr and know and appreciate how much work goes into videoing, presenting and editing. Your channel is going gang busters after such a short period of time that it has been going. I Simply love the 'day in the life of' vlogs and thank you so much for sharing so openly , all things about your business. You are very generous with your knowledge. Love love love, xx Deb from Australia
I appreciate your sharing some insight into what a week in the life of a creator is really like. It is a lot of hard creative and administrative work - kudos! And, you obviously love what you do and what you create - thanks for the content.
Thank you so much! I do feel like after last week and this week, I’m tinkering on the edge of burnout, BUT, i’m forcing myself to have a few days off next week to help 😂 It can be tough taking on all the jobs!
Thanks for sharing this, I always look forward to the updates:) Love your motivation and drive, absolutely mind boggling. I saw the sketch you had for your midi dress and loved the colours you were using for the first one, and was hoping it was going to work out. Trial and error is the process, then you get what makes you happy :) I love that blackstripy top you made with the caterpillar, cute! Your new tie trousers went with it so well.
Love your style and the T-shirt dresses, it might be a nice finishing idea to use matching thread to put your labels on so there isn't a noticeable zigzag rectangle on the back of the dress @7:29 or do as manufacturers do with a folded tag so you have a nice invisible single line of stitching, it's draws a lot of attention that white thread on the back. just an idea. I love your channel and can't wait to see what you make next :)
Hi wow I totally love your videos and I really loved that dress that you made with the ties before and after I thought it was beautiful both ways everything you make is awesome one of these I am going to make me some of your designs as soon as I finish dealing with all this crap that my Grandson and his wife left me with !!! God Bless you and babies!!!❤❤❤
I just love your channel and watching your design process. I know I have probably said that every time but it’s a comment and I have already liked and subscribed. ❤
Hi Scarlett you are getting really good at this now (vlogging🙌) I love all the versions of the Joy mini dress. The charity shop workshop sounds like an awesome idea - I would be interested to know how that goes. Could bring it to Oz for ya! I like the deep V neck better. You are like me, can't settle until it's right! (which is why I have a pile of stuff to correct) Not everyone can wear a boat neck style - I love the look of them but they strangle me too! I tried an up cycled stripey tee and I had to adjust it lots at the neckline! Where do you get your hair claws form? I loved the dolphin one! Looking forward to trying the new competition too with the Beryl jumpsuit if I get time. Keep them coming - loving the content.
So glad I found your channel! I have been basting the third summer vintage dress together while watching your business vlog. Thanks for the inspiration
I love your videos Scarlett ( I've migrated over from your Instagram reels) It's great to see how you work your week and your design process ( love the idea of a cross over dress in the future) I'd love to go charity shop rummaging with you! The workshops sound brilliant too
Thank you! I’m still relatively new to TH-cam, so I’m hoping to eventually keep sharing more in depth things here rather than instagram! Thanks for joining!☺️🌸🧵
Love the new pattern design and I love watching your thought process. I am stalled on my t towel dress as I have not had any luck finding any cute t towels but going out tomorrow to continue the search.
@@afrayed_upcycling no luck but I did order a few from Etsy yesterday coming from the UK so I’m guessing it’s more of a UK thing than here in the US. I’m also thinking I might need a serger or perhaps I could bind all my seams. What serger do you have and do you love it?
I loved watching your video. You get a lot done in your week. Congratulations on the new dress pattern. It looks great. You have inspired me to create a week in my business video too. Thank you 😊
Hi Scarlett, Given you enjoy 'less waste' sewing, and try to make do with what you have on hand, would you consider doing a video on tools you could not live without, including the big tools? Im wanting to approach sewing in the same manner you do but am yet to invest in a machine and all that comes with it. You have inspired me to dream big, but I don't want to waste my time or money on unnecessary toys and gadgets to make those dreams come true. At the 5 min 36 sec mark I also saw you pulling some elastic through a garment with a long hooked tool, and it spurred me to ask the question...what was that thing? Thankyou for sharing your daring approach. Cheers, Tara ( Watching from Australia)
Love the V-Neck! Also think the sleeves on the other would work if you put a bunch of gathering at the top - just totally poofed them up. Are you planning on releasing a dress pattern of the longer dress that has sleeves? The other is too short for me ;) and I love when the towel is set below the chest not across it because of my build...waiting impatiently. Hoping some of our nice Minnesota USA weather reaches you - lots of sun here. Keep on creating - you are a gem!
Have you ever considered to put the label on the outside? I am not too keen of the zig zag square on the outside but if you put the label on the outside I think it will be a feature. It is cute and it shows that it is a unique designer piece that was upcycled.
Hi! I’m new to your channel. Where do you source your fun fabrics? Love your organization for color families and the special touches you give each piece to make it custom and special for your clients.
I liked all the dresses lol BUT once I saw the finished perfect one I agree its Perfect. I have a question - Why clown type clothing ? is it just something you like or do you make these specifically for people working as clowns ? I'm not making fun of it, I quite like them but, I would tone them down for myself and any one I make them for. I to usually have fun colors in my hair usually silver / purple and I do like to wear color :)
I love your community outreach and the workshop sounds wonderful! I would come, but it's a bit far from California. I had the idea, when you mentioned hand sewing scrap busting techniques, and this can be made! How To Make Boho Collage Headbands With Upcycled Materials th-cam.com/video/0hpcstFzn8M/w-d-xo.html
I'm new to your channel but I ❤ it.
Love both new pieces ❤❤❤
