what about check back the on the 1:25:30 ? i prefer to bet with a backdoor flush draw. look, this board is also good for is raise call range preflop, if you think deeply. he's not folding backdoor flush draws with 2 overs on that board and he has all the overpairs and trips.

The hand at 35:00 where you open AQs and get 3 bet by JJ. From your opponents perspective with JJ after you check on the flop i have recently started adopting a 1/3 pot cbet with my pps on A high flops when checked to. Obviously in this spot you will never fold your AQ.. having said that if you do not have an A you will likely fold to the cbet and if you do have an A you will call. This gives me plenty of information and almost certainly buys me both the turn and river to try and set up. I would be interested to know what range of hands you think would call my 3 bet pre and call a 1/3 pot size bet on that board that do not contain an ace? 50:51 some good regs in midstakes mostly they use limp strategy from utg utg+1 with 15-20 bb with spesific hands like 99 88 jj 1010... and 910s qjs kjs for balance .
This is my favorite series that you've done. Anytime there's a pre-flop spot, I run it in Holdem' Resource Manager, and Ben is right like 90% of the time without even looking at the software. Awesome way to study along side the GOATS. Please keep this up :)

Hey Lex, hey Ben ... i have a question for the 7 high flush hand there ( @ 1:44:40 ). From a mathematical standpoint wouldnt it be better to check shove that hand on the river ? Because if you think about his range he would play hands like pocket Jacks exactly like that. So in theory there are 5 Cards (9, T, J, Q, K of clubs) that beat you, thats why a call is bad (?) , because any 9 T or J of clubs would beat u by a call, but on the other hand would most likely fold to a shove. That means if you call, u lose to 5 possible cards and if you shove u only lose to 2. What do you guys think ?

Talk about old school, watching these videos makes me feel like I'm back in one of my university lecture classes. I probably hit rewind 50 times, and if I watch it again, I'll learn a lot more. I wouldnt call these videos fun, but I know they'll make me a better player. And as for the ass holes that say you don't give back to your community, what about this. By posting these training sessions ypu're helping your community play better, but you expose yourself a little by doing it. I appreciate it, and hope enough people will watch these sessions, so you can continue to do them.
Hey Jeff, yeah there is a little something for everyone. This is the most advanced stuff I put out there. I don't even go this deep on stream. For more structured, direct logical thinking oldschool series are good too!
Once again, some of the most quality content on youtube. I wanna say though, at 6:05 , why 3-bet bluff with the low suited aces? An ace is the most commonly opened card so you're really only blocking AA pre-flop, ok T9s for board coverage makes sense from the last video, but AJo and AQo I wouldn't really class as bluffs. I like to 3-bet bluff with KQ because you can reliably rep KK and QQ on many flops and normally you can see at least a turn for free post-flop on an ace high board hoping to make some show down value or a strong draw on an ace high board. That makes far more sense to me. On the rare occasion you run into AA/AK they play their hand face up 4-betting and you can make an easy fold.
You do block a lot of AK AQ AJ ATss, hands that get stubborn vs 3bets, with KQ you block a little bit less of those hands, but you get a bit better playability. That's a big part of the reason
Was irritated by the 44 hand at 1.18:30. I thought the more bluffs we have the bigger we should size-< bc we can have a lower Value: Bluff ratio. This is a spot where i tend to bet really big (polarized ) on the river in the past. I guess this is correct but the exception is (if i understood u right) the scenario in which we have a lot of low value hands that need to size small bc if not we dont get the 50% vs calling range of villain and therefore we can have a bunch of bluffs. So we have a higher Value: Bluff ratio but FQZ is higher. Right? Hard to judge in game whether option we should take if all draws missed. Due to the 25% Probe of Lex. I guess he uses 2 sizings on Turn and at the lower he has more 6x,9x and pp. But 6x would speak for sizing it up… So i probably would choose some big bets with 6x and some lower bets with 9x type of hands. and choosing some 7x,5x hands in the bigger bluff size and some Tx,8x in the lower ones. So would u mind to explain from ur point of view. In which scenario u would go for a polarising big bet here (or small and big) and in which scenario u choose the 33% only sizing?

The thing is though, when u watch and learn, its all so clear and logic, but then on the tables, grinding 8-12 tables for hours, to ALWAYS make the best decisions... thats something i dont know how to handle... ok, most will say now its about repetition and time aso... and that could be true... maybe its just learning so far that its in your blood and flesh so u even dont think about it anymore.... i dont know... any suggestions how to put the learned stuff on to the felt the best way ?
You're pretty much mentioning your own solution. Go to 4-5 tables. You will get worn down a lot less fast and you will have more clarity to insert the study sessions.

Really great video, looking forward to part 3. Only suggestion I have is that sometimes when you guys look at a specific hand, you go very fast through it, so it is difficult to follow along, especially since it can be hard to see the specific bet sizings. One possible way to solve this would be to narrate more when going through the hand, so fx say "cbet 1/3 pot". The 99 hand I had to scroll back several times to see if you jam vs a raise and a caller, or vs a raise and a 3bet, because you went through it so fast. Anyway very grateful for these videos, keep it up.
I don't want my stream to talk about numbers hardcore non-stop. Sometimes twitch chat has a very black and white idea about strategy. If they see a number COULD mean a tighter player they will zoom in on that and go crazy if you make a lighter call.
Question Lex! I'm frequently watching you play on stream, how many spots or hands do you already incorporate into your play from these lessons? Maybe you can explain this a bit in the next video. Maybe it is an idea to show BenCB some adjustments that you made and discuss those hands with him. Anyhow love these vids!

BUT I would have linked to have more input to some of the hands u guys are rushing through at around 3/4 of the Video, ur 99, 77, A8 squeese etc.As well as some of the opponents hands we see for all ins. In general it just went to quick and it was increased difficult to follow the action and flow / feel of the table, in my opinion. The solver, Range analysis fell short on great spots later in the vid. E.g. the tough spot u found ur self in with A7o 4 cards to a flush
Lex, I have a question: for the k/10 off hand ( at the start) I am always worried about the 11bb stack in the SB because the shorter he is the more hands he can shove right? I get that the other positions are important too, but am I right to take him being short into consideration or is it more as an advantage because he won't bluff me off my hand like bigger stacks can? Hey man, thanks for you message. It's just about having the general realization you balance in spots. Because sometimes just being aware of balance tells you you could be wayyyy too strong in a spot by betting. So strong in fact you should always check. Also if you completely ignore balance on lower stakes you have to re-learn the whole concept when you move up in stakes.
it simple: DONT EVER BALANCE AGAINST FISH!!!! NEVER EVER! just go straight for value except u got the absolute coconuts on a dry board. same goes with 3betting. we dont bluff 3bet against fish except in some bubble situations. u only want to balance against decent players u see often. quote by bencb: "fuck that GTO bullshit". (you need to know GTO tho on higher levels for being able to exploit your opponents). for lower stakes u dont want to play a gto style for 99% of the time

There is already so much information out there this is not making a difference and I feel it's important for me to show my audience this part of my poker life too.
the thing is it doesnt rly improve other peoples games. it does a bit ofcourse but even after watchign this 20 times people will still make mistakes because they are lazy fucks. plus lots of players are simply not smart enough to translate this to other spots. IF u rly want to get better YOU have to put in a ton of WORK by yourself and there is no shortcut
Perhaps it also can make the smart people play better and the stupid people play worse, because, just like pokemon, they "hurt themselves in confusion" - they misunderstand concepts, their game becomes convoluted into a mess, whereas before they had a weak but at least more static and potentially safe losing strategy.
Also what they're discussing is GTO; it's about how to play an unbeatable strategy - google Nash's equilibrium. What Ben is teaching Lex is about how to move his strategies closer to GTO (and also how to exploit opponents but to a lesser degree because it's not live/there's little to no information on player tendencies.)

At 1:00:00, maybe he takes your small turn sizing to mean you don't really have many 9x hands. Just a thought.

The 99 hand I had to scroll back several times to see if you jam vs a raise and a caller, or vs a raise and a 3bet, because you went through it so fast. I don't want my stream to talk about numbers hardcore non-stop. Sometimes twitch chat has a very black and white idea about strategy. If they see a number COULD mean a tighter player they will zoom in on that and go crazy if you make a lighter call.

BUT I would have linked to have more input to some of the hands u guys are rushing through at around 3/4 of the Video, ur 99, 77, A8 squeese etc.As well as some of the opponents hands we see for all ins. In general it just went to quick and it was increased difficult to follow the action and flow / feel of the table, in my opinion. The solver, Range analysis fell short on great spots later in the vid. E.g. the tough spot u found ur self in with A7o 4 cards to a flush

Lex, I have a question: for the k/10 off hand ( at the start) I am always worried about the 11bb stack in the SB because the shorter he is the more hands he can shove right? I get that the other positions are important too, but am I right to take him being short into consideration or is it more as an advantage because he won't bluff me off my hand like bigger stacks can? Question: i get why you have to get some bluffs and some strong hands in several situations, but do you think that´s necessary in the low stakes where your villains only look at the cards that they are holding?

Hey man, thanks for you message. It's just about having the general realization you balance in spots. Because sometimes just being aware of balance tells you you could be wayyyy too strong in a spot by betting. So strong in fact you should always check. Also if you completely ignore balance on lower stakes you have to re-learn the whole concept when you move up in stakes.
it simple: DONT EVER BALANCE AGAINST FISH!!!! NEVER EVER! just go straight for value except u got the absolute coconuts on a dry board. same goes with 3betting. we dont bluff 3bet against fish except in some bubble situations. u only want to balance against decent players u see often. quote by bencb: "fuck that GTO bullshit". (you need to know GTO tho on higher levels for being able to exploit your opponents). for lower stakes u dont want to play a gto style for 99% of the time

Hey Lex! Again thanks for such a good lesson, but i still dont get it why you do this. Does this not lile hurt you at the same time by increasing the skill of other players against you?
There is already so much information out there this is not making a difference and I feel it's important for me to show my audience this part of my poker life too.
the thing is it doesnt rly improve other peoples games. it does a bit ofcourse but even after watchign this 20 times people will still make mistakes because they are lazy fucks. plus lots of players are simply not smart enough to translate this to other spots. IF u rly want to get better YOU have to put in a ton of WORK by yourself and there is no shortcut
Perhaps it also can make the smart people play better and the stupid people play worse, because, just like pokemon, they "hurt themselves in confusion" - they misunderstand concepts, their game becomes convoluted into a mess, whereas before they had a weak but at least more static and potentially safe losing strategy.
Also what they're discussing is GTO; it's about how to play an unbeatable strategy - google Nash's equilibrium. What Ben is teaching Lex is about how to move his strategies closer to GTO (and also how to exploit opponents but to a lesser degree because it's not live/there's little to no information on player tendencies.)
