That's not exactly what I have read in other accounts of the dream. In his dream, Lincoln is walking along and saw a procession of people sadly walking out of the white house all dressed in black. Lincoln asked one of the people, "who has died here?" The man replied, "the president."

What a horrible nightmare, what makes it even more horrifying is that it came true. Perhaps God was trying to warn him. But was it a warning to try and save him, or was it a warning telling him to get his affairs in order to prepare for and accept the inevitability of fate?... we’ll probably never know... it will be a mystery to belong the ages... just like Lincoln.
He knew he was going to sacrifice his life for the sake of truth, justice and freedom for all... even before the dream.

Hi I'm Jayden and I'm in the 5th grade and im learning the Gettes burg address and I thought it would be cool to look into Lincoln's history.
Even the Looney Tunes cartoons got in on this, kinda'. I remember seeing a Foghorn Leghorn episode when he and *_Eggbert,_* the smart little Wizkid chicken, were playing hide and seek. LegHorn goes to hide in the toolshed. He pulls out a slide rule to figure out where he's hiding.
After his calculations he goes to get a shovel. In the meantime Foghorn is cracking up knowing he's not going to find him with *_no_* slide rule. Eggbert shoves the shovel in the ground once and pops up Foghorn which mystifies the mess out of him.
He's goes *_but...but boy, wait a minute, that can't be, I'm over there._* He goes to the toolshed and starts to open the lid up but stops abruptly and says *_No I better not. I just might be in there._* Whenever I see that episode I wait for that one line. It cracks me up everytime.

Carbon 10 he was already warned by his guard at the White House to not attend and a lot of people were worried because they knew he was a target when he was elected he got so many death threats. There was no secret service at the time. Lincoln believed that if somebody really wanted to kill him they would do it and there was nothing he can do to prevent it from happening.
