This was a show they did exclusive for us Army. It was livestreamed and then put on TH-cam. So it isnt for TV or anything. Which lend itself for a VERY casual setting. And they basically sang a bunch of their really older songs as a gift for us. Notice they dont even have in-ears in! It really was a casual off the cuff kinda performance. Hence why they were just vibing and joking around and we love them for it! You can just tell they are having a good time and so it makes it that much more enjoyable for us to watch!
They know when it’s their turn to be in the spotlight and they don’t mine sharing the spotlight. That’s why we love them because they know how to share and they support each other doing solo projects not a lot of bands are like that especially in the U.S. That’s why a lot of American bands do break up because their label and band members don’t support solo projects but BTS members have side projects/mixtapes and even solo songs in their group albums and the label and the members are supportive about it.
Yeah exactly, even the other day Yoongi and RM was encouraging Jungkook to release his solo mixtape. They're so supportive and help each other so much for those solo works too (like when RM helps with the English lyrics to Jimin's Promise etc.)
Not only with BTS but with other kpop groups as well, every member has their part and when it's their part, it's their part. And everyone backs off and tries to not attract attention to themselves. For the most part.
yeah, my favorite reactions is from someone who actually know a thing or two about what they are seeing. So my favorite reactions are often "Dancers" "Vocal coaches" "Singers" and I have even seen Videographers and Movie-people react to their MV's and stuff like that, its so cool when people who knows something about it make a reaction and stuff.
For me this is the best group ever, i never stan artist before but this group is so amazing whid there lyrics, performents personalitys you can only love theme.
The difference between BTS and other American artists is BTS members are together for years. They’ve been through a lot and had only one another to support them most of the time, so they’re like brothers, the connection they have with each other is genuine, it’s pure love. You can’t practice or even learn that ♥️
They have a lot of emotional connection to their songs because their lyrics are their life story, the struggles, transformation and the familial love between the members. That’s why they are not just “singing” to just sing. They always bring their emotions to their songs when they perform for us Army and that’s part of why we love them so much. 💜
Yes, when the performer(s) are relaxed and having a good time, being playful, you cant help but find yourself grooving along with a huge smile on your face. BTS is really good for this. I find myself smiling like a goon all the time watching their performances or funny videos, they're just so genuine and fun!
I love it when they do stuff like this where they dont dance because it gives them a time to really show how good their singing and rapping actually is.
Talking about how organic they are (when they get up and move during I Like It), I really appreciate this as an audience member. I agree with you, it is INCREDIBLY engaging because each and every member approaches the song in a different way (Some are sitting, while others are standing, Jungkook skips to the beat, Jimin glides, V and Jin move their hands etc) it really draws your attention to each member to see what they're going to do next! Also, I appreciate when V starts moving around the back of the room... I would think that performers would want to stay away from that area, wanting to stay in that center spotlight for the cameras, but BTS appears to be so fluid and comfortable with their music and performance that they really just feel it and follow those instincts/impulses. They have fun!! which is so refreshing to see!!

What touches me most is the interplay between the members; how crystal clear it is that their hearts are filled with the love of each other, and of what they're doing for and with each other. Imagine a world where these young men never met. Imagine a world, if you can, where their example of commity, humanity, and community never existed to inspire the rest of us. Then weep.
Vocal coach Sam Johnson (who has reacted/commented with Dr. Marc) mentioned such with Park Hyo Shin's live performance of "Wildflower". He greatly admired and pointed out that PHS was so comfortable and confident with his technique that he was able to lose himself in the emotion of the song. It made for a wonderful performance, of course.
With some groups and performances, I can feel frustrated when so much is going on and there is no clear center of attention because I'm afraid I missed something bigger and better over there or back there, etc. But with their performance, there was a nice synergy, enough going on so there was always something fun to see but a clear center of attention so that I wasn't afraid I would miss something. Loved it!

As an ARMY, of course, I love hearing how BTS has been trained and grown into their natural talents. There's something about them performing with 'raw emotions.. rawness (if theres a word?) When i watch them i, as if could feel their sincerity or the emotions they want to deliver, their so open .. and i couldd'nt stop myself from watching them over and over with their performances.. i dont know if its just me being a fan or.. even a non kpop who watch one of their performance can see my point of telling their performance as 'raw'..💜🤗 i just love them💜💜

yes, their music is in them coz they wrote and composed it from their heart and mind. the message they want to tell the world, it's in their music... that's why they feel the beat and the melodies naturally and it shows through their actions and movements. also, whenever a member is performing a solo part in the song it seems like they want that person to shine yet they don't fade in the background or disengage themselves in the moment hence you could still see the connection to each other. plus, BTS is a family! they're not just a group... they are more than that and you could obviously see it on how they are very comfortable, complete trust to each other, playful, all smiles, happy, engaging and energetic sometimes layback and relaxed and has a flow like one beautiful and calm wave. BTS is amazing that way. BTS is the best! there's nothing like BTS! btw, you mentioned that their jaws have no tention when they sing... that's coz they trained to open their mouth to a minimum when singing yet they still could sing beautifully and could still pronounce the words corractly and clearly... this is why many people thought that BTS lip synchs. coz they couldn't accept the fact that BTS uses that technique when singing coz in their mind... it was impossible. BTS performances are always awesome!
They all move a lot when they sing so as you can see even when they are sitting down they can't keep still haha, they are used to moving a lot and of course, one reason is that they dance a lot and they simply great artists. Also, Jin is one example who always uses his hands when singing even on ballad songs, we always see on LIVE shows/concerts.
BTS ALWAYS HAVE FUN WHEN THEY PERFORM. THEIR ENGAGEMENT WITH ARMYS/AUDIENCE ARE ALWAYS AWESOME. No, them standing up and being chaotic/dancing/moving a lot is there own decision. Even if they are told to chill down and sit to perform, you would still see them standing/dancing while grinning for breaking the practiced performance..they are adorable.
there’s another performance they did that day that’s a suga focus armypedia performance so the camera focuses on yoongi but the rest of the group still give a great performance while being silly and having fun
I love this reaction video. You actually talked about the same advise that their CEO tell them when they are just starting (2013??), to practice and practice and practice to be more free on the stage. That's why they are so good at performing live. 💜☺👍
Thanks for pointing out the essential details about their live performances. They are so creative and engaging while on stage with each other and with the fans. That’s why they sold out all concerts. Their concerts were different every day. While most artists sing to the audience, BTS sings with the audience. There is never a dull moment because all seven of them interact with the crowd and between themselves on stage for over 3 hours each concert. You feel included in the party.
Glad you noted stated that their technique and practice is such that they can trust their performing instincts. As they are confident in their technique, they can "feel the moment". I think it is what makes their live performances so special. I have heard a male fan say that when the boys perform before tens of thousands of fans, they do it in such a way that you think they are performing just for you. That kind of ability to engage an audience is rare. Surely as a director, it must be difficult to get your own performers to find such balance in a relatively short period of time. (It's not like your average stage troupe spends as much time together in such close proximity as BTS.) How do you foster such practice and mastery of techniques for a masterful and engaging performance without causing burnout? As for fun, in some of the behind-the-scenes for the last song in this video, Suga runs from the other members, while they playfully chase him.
Good question! It is really hard to get the kind of chemistry and ease they have within BTS in a short amount of time. In some ways there isn’t a way to rush a performers growth besides putting in the time a deliberate effort. That said, each director usually gathers their bag of techniques to use with each new cast to help foster this the growth of the team and also get pretty good at knowing when they are pushing to hard and are at risk of burning people out. Each performer contributes to the team too so that helps ... usually ;)
BTS is not really a group but a family that means love. But whats more important i believe is they RESPECT each other. Love for each other is not enough if there is no RESPECT. Like they really look up to RM as the leader of the group and respect him. They dont have envy in their heart they just support each other. Proud to be an ARMY. One thing more i believe them being ASIANS makes the difference like it is a cultural thing where the family comes first no matter what they support each other.
oof, I think this is one of my favorite videos of you and BTS where you look at their performance. I looove seeing you analyze their pure stage presence. I believe the only thing planned of when they got up from their chairs was that they was gonna move around a bit but they didn't have anything planned on WHAT to do when up, so they just kinda went with it. You see RM and V do some actual choreo while the others 'react' to it, because all of these songs have legit choreo to it. But they are just having fun. and seeing you appreciate it and analyze it and explain the effects on the audience, I love that!

You’re very refreshing. My occupation is in radio and I do voice over work so when I’ve done a little commentary on this group specifically I agree with everything you’re reacting to. I’ve also been checking out KPop in general. What I know about these guys is that as trainees they actually had singing classes together for about 8 months solid. Their confidence in themselves and the trust they have with each other. BTW I stand about 90% of the time so that I can free up my body to stay in character. Thanks for this...great job. BTS has managed to made ARMY feel like they are there with them in an intimate performance even when your surrounded by 50,000 other fans. It’s definitely a skill not all performers have and one that intrigues me. How do they do that?!?
Thats why we love them so much. Takes a lot of courage and determination to do what many people told you that you couldnt do. They are inspirational and they give us back so much not only musically speaking but as human beings. We loved & admire both the artist and the person.

omgggg i completely understand what you're saying! this is so exciting. love how i see the differences in the things you're pointing out. i honestly never thought about the technical aspect of their performances because like you said, it just feels so relaxed, so seamless! everything feels natural! even if they're planned or not. also, i just want to share that this feeling from bts is not just seen when theyre performing but especially when they're talking to each other! like they could be following a script but they still manage to make it feel authentic in a way. like it's just playful banter. 5 years ago when i started to become a fan when people ask me why bts, i answer, because theyre genuine. with their message, their music, their performances, their relationship w each other, and how they act individually. this is what i think draws people to them. talent aside, theyre just genuinely good people who want to make music and perform. thank you so much for taking the time to react to them! i enjoyed this a lot!!
Thing with BTS and shows like this where they are just provided chairs and mic's and obviously music, they just chill out. You can see them act just like this even during practice (they have alot of behind the scenes stuff) and since they frequently play off eachother and just jam together, even when they are just chilling out and not on stage or even not in a studio practicing, they are at home or just hanging out, you can see them have a song playing on the phone and them just singing along having fun, reacting on eachother and that is what happends when you have good chemistry and just is so comfortable with eachother, just being aware of the others and doing this becomes so natural, I am sure that they could easily forget that there even is cameras there.
I love them because everything they do (whether it’s singing or performing) it’s just always so authentic. I like how expressive you are. Keep doing your thing.

I’ve just watched two of your discussions of BTS and I subscribed to your channel. The first thing I did upon discovering BTS 3 years ago was work to be able to discern each of these 7 voices to know who was singing the lead at any given moment. I love so many things about BTS, like the depth of meaning in their lyrics, but I am deeply in love with these seven voices. They have moved me to tears upon hearing a song for the first time - before the fan translations come out. I believe it is their sincerity, the purity of their art, & that their voices are directly connected to their lovely hearts and souls. Lots of singers do vocal acrobatics and tricks. That’s not what BTS is about. I could write a treatise about each of their voices but it would be closer to an analysis of poetry than of vocal abilities. Thank you for your serious analysis. I enjoyed it so much!

yes, their music is in them coz they wrote and composed it from their heart and mind. the message they want to tell the world, it's in their music... that's why they feel the beat and the melodies naturally and it shows through their actions and movements. also, whenever a member is performing a solo part in the song it seems like they want that person to shine yet they don't fade in the background or disengage themselves in the moment hence you could still see the connection to each other. plus, BTS is a family! they're not just a group... they are more than that and you could obviously see it on how they are very comfortable, complete trust to each other, playful, all smiles, happy, engaging and energetic sometimes layback and relaxed and has a flow like one beautiful and calm wave. BTS is amazing that way. BTS is the best! there's nothing like BTS!
btw, you mentioned that their jaws have no tention when they sing... that's coz they trained to open their mouth to a minimum when singing yet they still could sing beautifully and could still pronounce the words corractly and clearly... this is why many people thought that BTS lip synchs. coz they couldn't accept the fact that BTS uses that technique when singing coz in their mind... it was impossible. BTS performances are always awesome!

They all move a lot when they sing so as you can see even when they are sitting down they can't keep still haha, they are used to moving a lot and of course, one reason is that they dance a lot and they simply great artists. Also, Jin is one example who always uses his hands when singing even on ballad songs, we always see on LIVE shows/concerts.
BTS ALWAYS HAVE FUN WHEN THEY PERFORM. THEIR ENGAGEMENT WITH ARMYS/AUDIENCE ARE ALWAYS AWESOME. No, them standing up and being chaotic/dancing/moving a lot is there own decision. Even if they are told to chill down and sit to perform, you would still see them standing/dancing while grinning for breaking the practiced performance..they are adorable.
there’s another performance they did that day that’s a suga focus armypedia performance so the camera focuses on yoongi but the rest of the group still give a great performance while being silly and having fun

I love this reaction video. You actually talked about the same advise that their CEO tell them when they are just starting (2013??), to practice and practice and practice to be more free on the stage. That's why they are so good at performing live. 💜☺👍
Thanks for pointing out the essential details about their live performances. They are so creative and engaging while on stage with each other and with the fans. That’s why they sold out all concerts. Their concerts were different every day. While most artists sing to the audience, BTS sings with the audience. There is never a dull moment because all seven of them interact with the crowd and between themselves on stage for over 3 hours each concert. You feel included in the party.
Glad you noted stated that their technique and practice is such that they can trust their performing instincts. As they are confident in their technique, they can "feel the moment".
I think it is what makes their live performances so special. I have heard a male fan say that when the boys perform before tens of thousands of fans, they do it in such a way that you think they are performing just for you. That kind of ability to engage an audience is rare.
Surely as a director, it must be difficult to get your own performers to find such balance in a relatively short period of time. (It's not like your average stage troupe spends as much time together in such close proximity as BTS.) How do you foster such practice and mastery of techniques for a masterful and engaging performance without causing burnout?
As for fun, in some of the behind-the-scenes for the last song in this video, Suga runs from the other members, while they playfully chase him.
Good question! It is really hard to get the kind of chemistry and ease they have within BTS in a short amount of time. In some ways there isn’t a way to rush a performers growth besides putting in the time a deliberate effort. That said, each director usually gathers their bag of techniques to use with each new cast to help foster this the growth of the team and also get pretty good at knowing when they are pushing to hard and are at risk of burning people out. Each performer contributes to the team too so that helps ... usually ;)
BTS is not really a group but a family that means love. But whats more important i believe is they RESPECT each other. Love for each other is not enough if there is no RESPECT. Like they really look up to RM as the leader of the group and respect him. They dont have envy in their heart they just support each other. Proud to be an ARMY. One thing more i believe them being ASIANS makes the difference like it is a cultural thing where the family comes first no matter what they support each other.
oof, I think this is one of my favorite videos of you and BTS where you look at their performance. I looove seeing you analyze their pure stage presence. I believe the only thing planned of when they got up from their chairs was that they was gonna move around a bit but they didn't have anything planned on WHAT to do when up, so they just kinda went with it. You see RM and V do some actual choreo while the others 'react' to it, because all of these songs have legit choreo to it. But they are just having fun. and seeing you appreciate it and analyze it and explain the effects on the audience, I love that!

You’re very refreshing. My occupation is in radio and I do voice over work so when I’ve done a little commentary on this group specifically I agree with everything you’re reacting to. I’ve also been checking out KPop in general. What I know about these guys is that as trainees they actually had singing classes together for about 8 months solid. Their confidence in themselves and the trust they have with each other. BTW I stand about 90% of the time so that I can free up my body to stay in character. Thanks for this...great job. Thats why we love them so much. Takes a lot of courage and determination to do what many people told you that you couldnt do. They are inspirational and they give us back so much not only musically speaking but as human beings. We loved & admire both the artist and the person.

omgggg i completely understand what you're saying! this is so exciting. love how i see the differences in the things you're pointing out. i honestly never thought about the technical aspect of their performances because like you said, it just feels so relaxed, so seamless! everything feels natural! even if they're planned or not.
also, i just want to share that this feeling from bts is not just seen when theyre performing but especially when they're talking to each other!
like they could be following a script but they still manage to make it feel authentic in a way. like it's just playful banter.
5 years ago when i started to become a fan when people ask me why bts, i answer, because theyre genuine. with their message, their music, their performances, their relationship w each other, and how they act individually. this is what i think draws people to them. talent aside, theyre just genuinely good people who want to make music and perform.

Thing with BTS and shows like this where they are just provided chairs and mic's and obviously music, they just chill out. You can see them act just like this even during practice (they have alot of behind the scenes stuff) and since they frequently play off eachother and just jam together, even when they are just chilling out and not on stage or even not in a studio practicing, they are at home or just hanging out, you can see them have a song playing on the phone and them just singing along having fun, reacting on eachother and that is what happends when you have good chemistry and just is so comfortable with eachother, just being aware of the others and doing this becomes so natural, I am sure that they could easily forget that there even is cameras there.
I love them because everything they do (whether it’s singing or performing) it’s just always so authentic. I like how expressive you are. Keep doing your thing.

I’ve just watched two of your discussions of BTS and I subscribed to your channel. The first thing I did upon discovering BTS 3 years ago was work to be able to discern each of these 7 voices to know who was singing the lead at any given moment. I love so many things about BTS, like the depth of meaning in their lyrics, but I am deeply in love with these seven voices. They have moved me to tears upon hearing a song for the first time - before the fan translations come out. I believe it is their sincerity, the purity of their art, & that their voices are directly connected to their lovely hearts and souls. Lots of singers do vocal acrobatics and tricks. That’s not what BTS is about. I could write a treatise about each of their voices but it would be closer to an analysis of poetry than of vocal abilities. Thank you for your serious analysis. I enjoyed it so much!
