My husband played congas on this!! (Joe Clayton) He just happened to mention it to me. He played on so many pieces back in the day. Thanks for posting this!
When I was a boy my favorite aunt brought this 45 record to our house one day. She said, "Baby, Listen to this!" She played it over and over we danced in the dining room. I miss her so much when I hear this.
Man I love this music so much! Even though I’m only 29 and clearly wasn’t born during this golden era of music, I’m still thankful for people posting these songs which allows me to travel back to a time where music must have been so soulful and nice to listen to!
I remember this song from 5 decades ago: Aunt Freddie played it all Summer long in '75: J.B. wrote it in late '74, it was No. 2 Pop and #8 R&B in early 1975! I thought Barry White wrote it at first, till a few years prior!!
Oh how well I can remember hearing this man Johnny Bristol singing this song everywhere I went, and it was a massive hit record for him. I was 15 at that time, which was in 1974, when this song swept through everywhere like an extremely very intense high fever of love. It makes me greatly reminince and still feel the same spirit when I hear this song today even at the age of my blessed years of now being 63 years old. I love Jonny Bristol, and he was a very sexy handsome man. May he rest in peace. I want to thank him for the love and beautiful music he brought to all of us throughout the world, although I am an American.
❤ my siblings and my mom always had competition at home. We all won at our formative talent years. My mom suggested a talent performance. My brother went first. Followed by my little sister, next to last, was my sister who is older. I went last. And I didn't disappoint. I lip synced "hang on in there baby!" And of course I won. I remember mom just sitting on the couch with her beautiful smile. It was just like yesterday.
I've listened to this song a million times, but I just realized it has a very subtle sexual undertone to the lyrics. That's the genius of music in the 70's. The music was so good, the nuance was sometimes missed.
WHOA!!!!! Love my groove from the 70's. Absolutely no music from today can compare to my music. I graduated from high school the year this came out. Dang, just got some big ole goose bumps.
Amazing as this song is you can walk past his grave and never know it. On his headstone it has his rank (Airforce) from when he was in the military and his name. Unless you knew his name you’ll walk right by it.

Heard this on the radio recently and it brought back great memories of slow sets to this song. Incredible piece of work that’s lasted and never been bettered.
When I read and learned the lyrics to this song I was totally in love with this song. The way he talked and coaxed "her" to that ultimate feeling made me blush! Fantastic song. Too bad that music no longer exists.
Powerful romantic lyrics. Such wonderful memories. I was courting my first wife. She has since passed away but whenever I hear it I can still feel her. Happily married again of course. But this song brings me back to that time. Nothing like it. The Best . Johnny Bristol was Amazing.
Mr. Bristol was all style and class. Behind the scenes he was an influential powerhouse. As a solo artist, this brilliant song showcased his talent. He is missed.

Oh no biggie!. Hey honey, I helped create this sexy hit. Oh, I forgot. Lolol
Is that right cool. This song symbolizes my birth year because I was born when this sing was released in 1974 .
Back then you had to have instrument playing talent.
You can understand why I would have a psychological attachment to anything from my birth year.
A classic 😹! Worldwide x
